Zhao Ke is a highly disgruntled workaholic who, after a twist of fate, finds herself transported back to the 1970s and adopts a carefree attitude. With the hope of reclaiming her future through the resumption of college entrance exams, her future seems bright.

However, one day, Zhao Ke realizes she is actually living within the pages of a period novel. Apart from the main characters, she encounters a slew of antagonists who repeatedly face humiliation, including her brother, childhood friends, parents, uncles, and fellow villagers.

The only exception is Zhao Ke herself, an unexpected addition to the story, summarized in a single line: “died young from drowning.”

Zhao Ke: “…”

Seems like everyone’s out to get her alone, huh?

Unable to cling to the protagonist’s thigh, she decides to return to her village.

Coincidentally, during a village election for the production team, the local elementary school lacks a teacher, and the villagers select one from their ranks. With her high school graduation and local roots, Zhao Ke is assured of the position.

However, an unexpected twist occurs—

Zhao Ke is not chosen as the teacher; instead, she is elected as the Women’s Director. The entire village is bewildered, and all eyes are on her.

Young and bewildered, Zhao Ke faces the spirited and formidable women of Zhao Village.

Later on—

The original male and female protagonists become Zhao Ke’s “strategists,” devising clever schemes and earning admiration.

The troublemakers of Zhao Village become Zhao Ke’s “support,” causing havoc and demonstrating both literary and martial prowess, known far and wide as someone not to be trifled with.

Soon, whenever Zhao Ke’s name is mentioned, the women of Zhao Village affirm: “Director Zhao” can get things done effectively, no doubt!

It was good. This is not a romance story, if you want to read about romance between the FL and ML then you are out of luck. By the end of the story, the FL is with the nominal ML, but we are told about it and never really get to see them interact. This is a career story focused on the FL, the ML is only the male lead because he is paired with the FL. The ML is as fleshed out as the other side characters and is... more>> never focused on to much. However the side characters are well developed in the story, so the ML is not too one dimensional.

The first 2/3 of the story are good, the pacing is slow but not frustrating and the FL is entertaining. The last 1/3 of the story drags. The FL is less entertaining and more preachy and the nationalism increases. It depends on the reader whether or not the level of nationalism at the end is unbearable or tolerable. The saving grace for this story is that we don't see our FL interact with any other nations or nationalities so there is not xenophobia to deal with.

I would recommend the story, I had fun reading it and the beginning is worth it; but I would not re-read. <<less

Is good, but doesn't have any romantic relationship with the FL. This doesn't mean this story don't have any romance at all (most of the side characters are super developed and they have a good relationship). The FL and the ML don't have a good chemistry in my opinion, but they relationship are so small in all the novel that doesn't matters.

(English isn't my first language ok? (Is like my 4° language, and I don't have any formal studies on that) so my review will be bad, but I can transmitted my feelings about this novel)
