It isn’t the strongest who survives. The one who survives is the strongest.”

The pacing is wildly uneven. Key moments drag while others are rushed, making it hard to stay invested in the stakes. The main character is powerful, sure, but his progression feels mechanical and too convenient. Conflicts are often resolved by sheer plot armor rather than clever strategy or character growth.

What really holds the novel back is its repetitive structure and lack of emotional depth. Characters are introduced, given minimal backstory, then tossed aside—making it hard to care about anyone beyond the protagonist. World-building is surface-level, and the rules of the... more>> “game” change often enough to feel inconsistent.

There are flashes of promise here—a few interesting moral dilemmas and occasional action scenes that land—but overall, it’s a story that prioritizes power fantasy over meaningful storytelling.

Also, it might just be a personal taste but I don't really like how the MC's relationship with the two women were written. It seems rushed and unnatural, like the author just glossed over it. So do reconsider whether this book is really worth reading since this is a pit with two female leads which MC ends up marrying. <<less

Well, it was mediocre, but a bit entertaining just up to chapter 74.

Then MC (which was from the beginning kinda simple/honest/good bloke) started lying and scamming his own teammates out of nowhere, without any real need or reason. It was like just because many other korean MC scam people, so he should too - and it kinda killed his character, not it was oh so very established or something.

Nonetheless, it have killed my enjoyment and give me reason to go read something else.

P.S. Current translations both are messy at best,... more>> and sad MTL at worst - with gender mishmash et cetera, ya know the drill. <<less
