Ling Meng is a high-ranked casual gamer playing “The Legend of the Galaxy”. Infamous for his poison tongue, he’s known in the forums as Lemon Dad and he carefully cultivates a following of black powder fans over time. The trajectory of his fate completely changes the day he plays a match against the popular god-tier live stream anchor, Mangosteen. A meme created out of his dying words makes him a countrywide laughingstock and he begins to stalk Mangosteen to determine his rival’s weaknesses…to beat him in a match for revenge!

They fight with each other, stream with each other, and even exchange a naked photo with each other.

This is the love story of a lemon and mangosteen.

Ok so I am not really good at writing reviews but dang this novel is so great. This is filled with lots of fluff. The male lead and the MC are adorable. And their interactions are so funny.

The side characters are also amazing. They also have their own character portrayal and are not shallow. There is no unnecessary drama and is a fluffy read. I really recommend to read this <<less

5/5 A relatively short but very cute story of 2 gaming livestreamers who are uni students playing together and being cute. Story was short so not a lot of plot, but it was fluffy, cute and very enjoyable. Highly recommend.

Definitely worth reading for those who like fluff.

The characterization is interesting, and there is no over the top tropiness of the ML (like being very controlling and possessive). Of course there is some vinegar, but it's never too much - just enough to give you butterflies.

. It is not exactly plot-driven but the story draws you in enough to not make you bored. Although some people may be questioning how a relationship (especially a same-gender type) could go that smoothly in real life, but perhaps this novel could help us escape from reality for a little while.

I liked the MC's personality in the beginning, but as the story went on he lost his initial bold and courageous manner and turned super docile and cute. The characters in general are decent; not completely shallow but not too deep either.

The novel kind of got ruined for me after the MC kept live streaming literally every single event that goes on in his life: Personal issues with family (not even his own actually), get-together meals with friends, private romance etc... basically everything is broadcasted online. So at some... more>> point, his persona irl just didn't feel genuine anymore.

This was really sweet! It's short but fluffy read. I finished this in two hours, but the amount of dog food is already too much for me. It got recommend to me as a good e-sport novel so I read it.

It doesn't go deep into detail about the romance, and the plot is light, so don't hold your standards up too high for the romance drama or the plot. There isn't any drama, but it's really fluffy and quite funny. There are some parts that I do think the MC... more>> doesn't really act like how he is described, but I guess its an in-game and reality difference. The e-sport element is there, but it isn't especially heavy and although takes up a lot of space in the story, it isn't major.

I'd give it something between a 4 or 5 star, but I'll give it a 5 star just for the sake of it. Its a nice and short read for people who like fluffy romances with a very light plot. I'd definitely recommend it. Sorry for the bad English and have a nice day. <<less

This was so good..... good fluffy slice of life story with gaming theme and absolutely no drama or angsty (plus character name are pretty easy to remember since it based of fruit). It was fun and pretty relaxing for me.

Love the Dog food, their live streams and fans commentary toh..... I seriously can't stop smiling like an idiot.

I love Mango and lemon but I was much more interested in Banana/Guava...... He's just so my type. ... more>>

A lot of people ship him with Yam but I didn't got that feeling between two. Deep down, although I know it's useless I was lowkey shipping Banana with Lemon, like seriously, he was never interested in live streams and all but he became his fan. He doesn't talk much but with lemon he talk more than usual. Also, he was also courting him sending gifts..... plus the last scene... him greeting lemon with smile..... how can I not ship them. I am sure Banana/Guava is definitely interested in lemon but he realize it late.... maybe he only realize he like lemon after ML (Mango) Speech about meeting the match in game. That's just my theory.

I loved this author’s Antelope and a Night Wolf despite sometimes having difficult times with all the gaming slang... and I was a little reluctant to read one more e-sports novel.

frankly speaking, I promised myself to limit reading BL drastically, haha, to no more than several chapters per day.

and here I am, read the YBPGVW in less than 2 days after several months of BL fastening.

what to say? If you want to read something really sweet and entertaining, without drama, violence or ab*se - this novel will suit your tastes.... more>> The author’s sense of humor is great, I was laughing so much.

Additional big pluses are that the novel is completely translated and relatively short. <<less

Absolutely lovely! This was my first e-sports BL book and it was so fun, so sweet, so wholesome and I absolutely loved it!! All the characters were interesting and the main couple was ADORABLE! Go give it a try if you want something easy to read, hilarious and some very nice fluff mixed into it :)

To be honest, I didn’t expect much from this novel. Sure, the majority of the reviews were fairly positive, but I didn’t think I’d enjoy the crazy antics of the main CP this much. hehehehehhe. This was the first bl novel that I have read and I'm so pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this story. I still remember almost almost every part of the novel because I have read this countless of times. Some good part about this story is that first, the whole story is just fluffy especially when the ML try to court the MC and the scenes after they get together selling rot.

Secondly, the gaming part is actually fun and can easily be understand. Next, there aren't any unnecessary... more>> drama or angst that happen with the right chapters. Overall, this is still one of my favourite novel ever and will stay that way. Totally 100% recommended to anyone to read it and feel the joy and happiness of reading it <33 <<less

This is the first time I'm writing a danmei review and I had to do it because I loved this novel so much. It just cleanses the soul with romance and humor!! The MC and ML were super likable. I just loved their chemistry and how light-hearted everything was between them. The ML (Mang God/Shan Zhu) isn't super rich or powerful like typical ML's but he's a really good gamer who's super attractive (not that anyone knows what the gamer looks like). He knows how to tease the MC (Lemon... more>> Daddy/Ling Meng) and he genuinely supports and admires Ling Meng. From when he's chasing Ling Meng to when they get together, their relationship still remains light-hearted and passionate. MC is super adorable and hilarious as well! An expressive foodie and gamer with a loud, charming personality. I loved these characters so much, even the side characters that don't show up for too long were enjoyable.

I wish there were extras but I think the author ended it perfectly. I laughed during almost every single chapter. I'm not into e-sports/gaming but the author and translator did such a great job of making things understandable and entertaining to a noob like me. The fans in the ML and MC's livechat stream were hilarious and so full of character too. <<less

This. Was. So. Gooooodddd (ಥ _ ಥ) I actually stayed up the whole night yesterday just to finish this even tho my online classes were at 7 in the morning. This is probably my second gaming themed novel, right after Guide on How to Fail at Online Dating. It's just that IMO this one was even more complex than GHFOD and there wasn't any dog blood drama nor angst. It's just pure fluffff. I smiled like an idiot and laughed out loud in the middle of the night.

Although this one... more>> is a total must read, I don't recommend it those who've only started to read Chinese novels recently due to the massive amount of idioms and phrases (but the translator did an extremely good job in explaining them (o゜▽゜) o☆) <<less

Epitome of a honeymoon period! Just pure dogfood and fluff. Chapters go by so fast that I wouldn't mind rereading it again. The fanarts are super cute too, thank you translator!

MC and ML's interactions gets better in every chapter. Both have distinct characteristics and are compatible with each other.

I couldn't recommend this enough! Give it a try.

I liked this book so much I briefly went on a binge of gaming novels... All of which ended up being DNFs. Turns out it's not the genre I like, it's the insane amount of cuteness oozing out of every chapter of this specific one... Light-hearted, funny, fluffy.

This is one of my fav. Author. Author-san never deviates within the focus of the plot. Being an anchor, a gamer or even the romantic scenes were being blended into one novel. I like how it is made and how the novel describe the game. I wonder if the game really exist, it was detailedly describe.

Kinda envious of China for having many games. (◡ ω ◡) This novel is full of fluffiness. It's a typical black-bellied gong and a s*upidly cute shou and their daily life as an gaming anchor.

While it is indeed cute, refresing and so on, the MC is well, annoying and s*upid or silly (?) especially in the beginning (it gets better but the annoying-ness of him is still there) while the ML is the black bellied type. It rubbed me off the wrong way because I got the feeling that ML was playing with the MC and MC took the bait which made him 's*upid' in my eyes. finally got around to writing a review for this novel!

words aren't enough to explain how much I like this novel. It's sweet, cute, funny and not too long. Perfect to binge when ur in the mood for something soft and fluffy:) i've binge read this twice already in the span of 6 months LOL (even tho I end up eating so much dog food, ,) this novel was one of the first gaming bl novels ive ever read and its also one of my all time favourites

My heart melted so much while reading this book. The MC and ML are so sweet and cute and adorable. I could literally go on about how good this book is, the book is fun with so many little moments that are funny, heart warming, relaxing. There is no dog blood or great mystery just a good simple lovely novel.
