From the synapsis you would presume this is some kind of sweet face-smack novel like Full Marks Hidden Marriage. Not so far at 400ish chapters. What is special about this novel is that absolutely every character introduced is seriously f*cked up. I guess it could be considered as being multidimensional.

Okay so heres the thing the FL is s*upid as you probably can tell from the other reviews. The ML was basically a jerk at some points and the fact that he r*pes her so many times. There was a time when he got jealous and r*ped her on a horse. Im at 320chaps so far, tho ive been reading like a stream. Didn't even bother reading those paragraph & skip most. Like how the other comments here, the FL is absolutely a JOKE. Like how can u be so s*upid to fall from the same trap like drugging over & over again. Most characters here are h**ny. The ML is either too soft or too s*upid too. Ha!!? Just giving them a cold arrogant vibes but a fool. The cringe to that.

Flabbergasted, absolutely flabbergasted. Everytime I thought the ML and FL would finly end up together... nope. Every single person in this story sucks at communication, is always h**ny, and is absolutely infuriating. I tried to stick with this novel because I thought the ML and FL were gonna be sweet together. Absolutely not. They're constantly at each other's throats, but also are crazy for each other, but not in a good way. The only character who has appeared and their actions make sense is fl's bsf. This is a good novel for if you want to cry angry tears because no one has common sense and misunderstandings are constantly being thrown at you.

I can really help but drop this novel. I really dont like the female lead. She so s*upid. She dont have anything other than her nice body. I can't.... EVEN with this novel. I got through 86 chapters, and I while the novel isn't horrible, if you're looking for a face slapping, super intelligent, bad b*tch, this ain't it. If you are not Chinese just get paper and pen and start writing down names especially their parents. This is a 3 generation toxic family dynamic that involves 4-6 families. Characters in the book are not what they appear to be and if they are then they are not who they think they are 😭

Author ; each chapter is just an entire... more>> crazy episode on its own. There so many characters that at some point the supporting characters lives are more interesting than the main. I really wish a separate book can be written and focus on Fu and Shiyu. I liked that the men "purity" was something of value not just the women like most books. I also used this to not judge them too harshly. The book is also very pg and no detailed description of s*x acts are given.

FL: I'm at 50% of book and so far her character is not what it was in the beginning. yes she's getting weaker but the right word is vulnerable. She has a bad past that hardened her. ML struggled to get her to love him and when she does we get to see a side that's pitiful. She constantly needs saving but there's a deeper reason as to why. She is physically abusive towards ML in my opinion but I think in culture context it's seen as acceptable.

ML: His the typical in love male willing to do anything for FL. His character also develops with the book from very aloof to in love to manic to in love... When his nice he can buy her Earth and kick us to Mars, but when his angry he SAs her. In one incident it was so brutal she needed stitches. Nobody on his side wants him to marry FL thus why FL needs constant saving. There's also a deeper reason why they are all so determined to break them up and this is where THE ACTUAL GIST OF THE STORY IS!

Fu & Lu & Lin: They are ML/FL friends/enemies. Lu and ML were to wed based on family arrangements but then ML meets FL he changes his mind. Lin Shiyu and Fu are married but the trio have a very interesting and extra toxic backstory. This is where minor ab*se comes in and it's not so simple to determine whose the victim/culprit. There is also a lot of SA here that gets readers mad and I don't want to defend it. I think we need to accept SA happens in the real world therefore expect it in literature. How it's portrayed matters and to me with the trio I think author wanted us to look at the effects of SA. How PTSD from it can affect future intimacy and perception of love. Just cos a character falls in love with her ab*ser doesn't mean author is romanticizing it rather they could be showing the complex psychology of trauma bonding.

Another issue was g*ooming and this was also complex as we get to see both sides. Once again author wants us to make our own judgement.

This chapters are a mess. Mr Gu has turned out to be disgraceful. He constantly threatens FL to get her to sleep with him and when that doesn't work he ties her up. I should have seen the red flags early cos now his a black flag.

FL has become even more strong willed she's absolutely fighting back.

Shiya and Fu my god this had me crying all night. I just don't see how they can get back together in fact this couple has never been together. Not once has she ever consented to him. Fu is about to grovel for a decade cos his damage is beyond therapist.

I didn't think I would enjoy 50 yr old romance but I'm now so invested in Lu Jinwen saga. His relation is extremely dark married to 1 sister and enslaving the other.

listen when I said FL was doing too much and abusing ML I clearly wasn't seeing the red flags like she was 😭 Now I want to go back and tell her to bite him some more😭

I started this book a year ago and I learned to only read it at night when I'm falling asleep cos the drama is just too much but honestly I'm starting to like it. I have read many books and I don't think this plot structure exists here. It's not the typical build up to climax then reconciliation. This is up down side to side all over the place.

I think the writer wants people to see how much crime the rich can get away with in China or anywhere really. At some point Mo'er tries getting legal action against Gu ab*se and he literally gets the medical records removed and no lawyer will work with her cos the city fears him.

The writer also doesn't romanticize the ab*se like most dark romance... there's no body betrayal which I really hate. All the female characters are openly aware they are being ab*sed but they are struggling to escape cos the men are yandere.

The entire book so far there has been like maybe 1 con everything else non con. Gu is getting worse by the day and the author never lets him grovel... his idea of groveling is "as long as I never allow her to leave me thats an apology enough."

In fact all the men have this mindset cos Lu Jinwen literally says "if she only complied I would dot on her but as long as she remains stubborn I'll keep abusing her"

This men will treat other women so nicely but their love interest like tr*sh then wonder why can't she just love me 🥴 Like Gu has taken multiple women on dates and never once with FL.

They are all madddddd I swear

Mo'er eventually lets him know that she has never had any s*xual desire in him after the 1st time cos his not good in bed then he gets mad and does the same thing he does every time cos in his mind possessing her is just as good.
