MC is a beautiful superstar with more black powder than pure fans. ML is his system, and his childhood friend with a tragic story that changed both their lives. This is a world hopping story, but each world is fully fleshed out and MC savagely and smartly slaps faces with deathly aim. MC is beautiful inside and out, and the overlapping love story of MC and ML is so beautiful and deep that it is ingrained in my soul. Don't make your expectations too high, and - if you ignore all antagonists and the "protagonist" - it is the perfect junk food novel with a beautiful MC and a handsome ML who is absolutely adores and dotes on the MC. Unlike typical novels, side characters in this novel add to the charm of the novel and we do not skip over them like we typically do (or is it just ne? Lol), and the first kiss between the MC and ML is so sweet (and took so long to get there) that it will bring all the tingles down to your toes! It suffers from some of the typical issues with these novels (rush ending and some illogical leaps) but definitely worth a read (and many re-reads!), and not just because esport-themed face slapping with such savage tr*sh talk is its own delicacy. The kind of novel that makes you frustrated to death from all the dog blood drama and it is in anger that you revive to continue to read so that you can see some fantastical face slapping! You will need prescription strength heart medicine for this one, but weirdly I felt both relieved and sweetened by the ending of the MC and ML's love story. MC is gorgeous, though it is not always explicitly said, with a dark belly of revenge and cleverness- and there is more than good reason for revenge - and his doting ML is quite the beast, but their love story is quite sweet. There are some things that I think... more>> would have made it better: (1) there was sooooo much frustration in the dog blood and not enough sweetness mixed in, so be warned; (2) the true culprit of it all, MGL did not suffer sufficiently and was too fake saintly through 95% of the novel so I was dissatisfied; (3) I understand that the exaggerated face slapping of the family members and the villainess' goon was "necessary" but I wished the author had revealed what their original personalities and paths were in the original world (first life), I wish we were blessed to know who they really were in their nature and not who the true villain manipulated them to be; and (4) what happened to my cute cinnamon roll middle schooler! I thought he was adorable and yet the author completely forgot him! Frustrating as heck!

I also really liked the MC's story behind his birth and time at the orphanage, even if it had a bitter ending. Some warnings, MC's talent is sculpting so this field and the overall art processes in the novel are not always logical or close to reality, it doesn't detract from the story imo but some readers are particularly picky over it (im not sure why be so finicky when the novel is about too OP characters, but to each their own lol). Otherwise, it is cute, fluffy, and satisfying slaps abound.  <<less

Great novel! MC is fiery, clever, and smart while ML is very reliable and eventually understands that love needs some possessiveness lol Face slapping on this one was well conceived and veeeeeery pleasurable~ It was actually closer to the realm of normalcy and reason which made it all the more satisfying. Not to mention all of MC's little tricks along the way were the merry sprinkles on top of the bloody slaughter. Also, I REALLY liked that the MC did not do a 180 in his personality as soon as he was reborn. Instead, he used his understanding of the future to alleviate some of his greater faults, slowly transformed and became more mature, and progressed in a more realistic manner into a very stable grown up personality - such a change from the norm and I have to say I really enjoyed it!

Also, I really loved every dynamic in this novel, from the irony of the awkwardness of the family dynamic and how it contrasts with MC's willingness to go through fire and hell for his family, from the sweetness of tentative touches in awakening love to the passion of using your own self to protect your loved one, and the slow (and not so slow) descent into a breakdown as a result of all the anxiety, hardship, stress, and danger of living on the knife's edge as the MC battles for the live and prosperity of his loved ones as well as the healing journey where his loved ones help him recover from it all. So many feels and such a wonderfully crafted story!!!

For some additional words: This is a story that really sticks with you and is so wonderful that it might lead you to a reading slump because it is hard to compare to it. It is one of the rare seme protagonist novels and the fact that I still enjoyed it despite this fact (I have my reasons for disliking the general majority of seme protag novels) speaks volumes. A few points worth noting: (1) MC is not just smart, but he is complex, enlightened, and never disappoints. His worldviews are so pragmatic yet realistic, and he has an unavoidable charm and rizz that just stole my whole heart. He is the main reason to read this and he is one of the few MCs that feel three dimensional and soul deep attractive; (2) the views represented in this novel regarding cultivation and the demon vs. righteous sect is so novel and I can really get behind it, unlike a lot of other xianxia novels where the divide is too black vs. white. Essentially, cultivists are seen as parasites and thieves, and this perspective gives an enlightened view that creates greater enjoyment in the reading; (3) the romance is subtle at first, and even later in relation to other novels, but to me it felt more satisfying. This is definitely one of those novels that seeks to show rather than tell, and it makes all the difference. The ML starts off a bit one dimensional at first, but that is because of the MCs initial disinterest. As he looks and shows more and more interest in the ML, we start to unravel his more innate personality, all the while we see the sacrifices they make for each other. But again, it is subtle, so if it is not your cup of tea, then you might not enjoy this novel since its primary form of narration; and (4) the female characters are all so amazing! There are few novels that bring out the charm of supporting female characters, and this one really ranks on top! Read it, and you will see ^_^ <<less
