To elaborate further: this list explictly avoids possessive MLs who don't care about anything other than the MC. Most of the MCs and MLs here are simply good people, working toward something bigger than themselves. There is not a strong genre preference; I like infinity flow, ABO, wuxia, xianxia, and modern life. Maybe not a lot of slice-of-life though.
It's really impossible to find another novel with similar dynamics to fill the hole after reading one of these novels—I have tried.

The MC is just so pitiful in the beginning of the novel. Every time I think the author is finished with setting up the tragic backstory, more things just kept happening... This is the first novel that I read in the 无限流 ("infinity flow") genre! It is, by far, the SCARIEST novel I have read on this site—every arc delivered on this point, except perhaps the last one.
