[04] Apocalypse and the new world system

[04] Apocalypse and the new world system
The world as we know it has ended... now we live in the apocalypse, fighting the monsters with superpowers and magic... wait, what?

I have no idea why apocalypse became a fantasy genre, but there you go. There are a bunch of entertaining tales of reincarnator, magicians and just people who were around at the wrong (right?) time!

First, here are some good webnovels that aren't on NU:
1. Cyber Dreams (an AI rather than a system, but professional level writing)
2. Super supportive
3. Double-blind: A modern litRPG
4. Defiance of the Fall
5. The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound (this novel has practically created a sub-genre of its own in RRL)
6. The Gam3 (Discontinued? Author said he would come back, but it's been a long time... a shame, since it was great)
7. Paladin
8. The Primal Hunter (had some really good characters... and really poor ones... and it really falls off by the end of the tutorial...)
9. Change: New world (discontinued)

As for published novels, you can try out:
1. World War Z
2. The Stand
3. Swan's song

Just barely readable... maybe... I personally dropped it... But it has a lot of the same elements as many others on this list
KR (2.9)

Like I never run out of mana, this is just barely readable... but it's still there for those who need moar.

[have not yet read] - apparently starts off great, so I'll probably try it out just as long as it's going strong. But, crashes soon... more>>

I m not a big fan of zombies. When i searched “apocalypse” on nu what i was greeted with was amalgam of zombies, yaoi and stories which were dropped early on with decent novels rarely slipping through. This list is a safe haven for those who are interested in reading about world that undergoes sudden changes without stumbling upon undesirable content

Doomsday wonderland has lovely abilities and a good start. I dropped it after protagonist reached 3rd or 4th world

Dark blood age is one of most memorable novels for me. Was reminded of its despairful atmosphere while reading metaworld chronicles. Novels are entirely different though.

    What about worlds’ apocalypse online?

I Have a Manor in the Post-apocalyptic Era?

I didn’t pay attention earlier but this is a solid list: almost half of mentioned novels have a tag completed though axed novels also get tag “completed” at translation catches up... In reality not even a third part of popular novels on nu have a proper ending. More so with korean novels. Just saw a list of popular korean action novels. Out of 53 titles only 9 had tag “completed”

Thanks Rantala! I've added those two in - I remember you mentioning World Apocalypse Online before. I'll give it a go!

I don't usually search for novels outside NU so thanks for including those. Just started reading Randidly Ghosthound and it seems pretty good so far

Randidly is a fun read, and there's so much of it. It doesn't exactly stay on the rails,  but it kind of gives a feeling of making new rails and somehow working out in each arc. It's pretty epic if you can keep with it. Definitely one of the better developed systems. Hope you enjoy!

World Apocalypse Online is harem on paper but comparing it to the average harem novel on here its practically negligible.
