Full points for the first "movie", a disappointing seven points for the rest of the story starting from chapter 115-ish.

Pros:

1) we get to see MC and ML fall in love in a manner that is gradual, natural, and inevitable. 2) we can actually tell the moment when MC and ML start having feelings to each other through their actions/reactions alone, which connects to my next point: 3) the author SHOWS, not tell, and they do it subtly and brilliantly, as in making use of allegories. 4) the pacing is perfect. it has all the perks of slowburn without being one and is just as tantalizing. 5) the plot is majorly inner conflict-driven. MC's inner struggles are emphasized (ML's were not laid out as much but were still palpable, nonetheless), and we are able to follow his train of thought (usually very unfiltered) in real time to the point that it almost feels intrusive, which is a positive thing since that implies we almost see him as a real human. 6) the s*xual tension (!!!) 7) side characters aren't flat or repetitive and they have their own motivations. 8) no netizen comments (WE CHEERED!!!) 9) the story is realistic in the sense that the actions, dialogues, reactions, and emotional connection between characters felt natural and not staged. 10) the story can be pretty tense, but in my experience it never got cumbersome to read due to the fact that the anticipation for what's about to come next far outweighs my fear for it. we almost always get a big payoff in the form of fluff and sexy times after every stressful event, so it's not thoroughly painful.

Cons:

1) the stories within the story (i.e. the second and third movies MC and ML acted in) are very detailed. *too* detailed. i get that it's supposed to parallel the feelings of the characters in real life, but it shouldn't feel like we are reading a separate novel aside from the original. the first movie is an exception since it was crucial to MC and ML's relationship (and it was insanely good), but the execution of the last two are just poorer in quality, so maybe that's why.

as far as everything goes, that's pretty much it? i really liked the first part and i've never read anything like it hence why i'm in so much awe. read this story if you want an entertainment danmei that offers something mature, different, and new. <<less
