Fantastic novel with intrigue and plot whilst developing the romance. The reader gets to see them falling in love over and over and discovers critical information at the same time for that immersive feeling. Mc is stoic and Ml is an infuriating charmer so they work together well. The examinations are horrific and gruesome and with the Mc’s limited knowledge and repressed memories, it makes it all the more impressive how he can prevent the deaths of both himself and his teammates. I absolutely binge read this within the span of a day or two whilst lamenting over the small fandom. The rating of 4.7 stars is well deserved and I hope to see the Manhua finished someday.  <<less

The Mc is a typical op Hunter who’s leagues above everyone else but his backstory ends out quite well fleshed out in the grand scheme of the novel. There are hints dropped here and there about his exploitation that makes your heart pang in sympathy for his tragic awakening. ML is also infuriating at the beginning to the Mc but grows on him (like mould, as the saying goes). When their prior connection is revealed and the Mc’s attitude does a 180, it’s realistic and adds to the sympathy factor—for both of them. When it’s later revealed why Mc and ML lost a large portion of time together and that they would do anything (and... more>> I mean anything, just read the novel) for the other, it makes their separation all that more cruel. 

I joined this fandom for the silly edits and left with my heart in tatters. Would experience again. I had to temporarily pause my reading of this novel because it’s: 1) incomplete and 2) too heartbreaking

The Manhua is somewhat behind in terms of the plot, like most Manhuas, so if you need a break from the angst that the last couple hundred chapters, I’d recommend reading that. The illustrations are also hilarious and how they depict Mc is perfect. Again, very much deserving of its rating of 4.5 stars and I will finish it when free.  <<less

Now, beware this behemoth of a novel. Last I checked, it was at 1000 or so chapters. I finished all of book one and managed to get partway through book 2 before I was overwhelmed by the sheer word quantity and lack of interest. Despite that, it’s a wonderful read. The world building is exceptional and the backstory of Mc is perfectly tragic whilst explaining those deep rooted character traits that make him so self sacrificial and delusional. He has a quick witted mind and lack of self worth which leads to overcoming obstacles at the cost of his health whilst he downplays the situation to everyone around, this can be a pain to read... more>> for some scenes because you are pleading with him to wake up and realise but it also leads to a lot of comedic moments where we laugh due to being privy to his inner monologue. 

I binge read this a few years ago, around the time where book two only had 50 chapters or so. The read was worth it and I only recommend trying to pace yourself because after that intense reading session, I stopped catching up with the novel and I’ve now fallen behind. I’m also behind on the Manhua as I read it whilst it was stuck on chapter 70 or so. Delightful read with lots of well built characters who serve as more than stepping stones for the Mc and do end up being developed as their own person. Mc has mysterious past that explains his demeanour and it’s only revealed pretty late on the extent of the pain he underwent. All in all, I would read again and find it deserving of 4.5 stars. <<less

I can’t make a list of fantastic novels I’ve read and not include Orv. The fandom really speaks for the novel, little bit insane but overall varies between very comedic moments (eat dirt Yoo Joonghyuk) and extreme angst. Mc is representative of the average worker but his charm and true personality is brought out in the face of the apocalypse. He takes charge and the divide between his thoughts and actions, where he’s somewhat cruel in his mind but his actions are gentle and protective. Got to around chapter 350 out of 500 chapters or so but I will pick it up again someday. I had to stop because I ghosted everyone for two weeks straight because it got so depressing and scared the living daylights out of my friend who thought something happened. Very much worth it. Worth the rating of 4.6 stars.  <<less

Just started this novel at a horrible timing with my exams but thus far, fantastic. He says how he’s cowardly and really isn’t. I’m seeing a trend with how I like my MCs to be delusional enough that they lie to themselves and have a warped perception of themself. 

The inescapable grasps of capitalism dragging Mc through the scenarios is far too reflective of real life. Mc is a corporate s*ave like the rest of us and it shows. Considering he’s described as cowardly constantly (by himself), I rarely see such contrast in actions and feelings. Mc endures a lot and suffers greatly in his quest of returning home. The horror tag is fitting but the descriptions of the darkness aren’t that gorey to read through and is more lighthearted than typical horror novels. On the comedic side of horror due to Mc’s internal narrative but without it or in the perspective of another, would be far more tragic. 

Has a rating of 4.8 and I think that is has been earned. Good novel regardless of me not being far in. Mc is quite typical of that specific genre of ‘I think one thing and do another’ but that adds charm to his character. Very excited to see where this goes especially when I have time to finish reading it and catch up.  <<less

Very sweet and comedic school setting with a strong mc who can defend himself and doesn’t require the ml to stand in for him. The premise is that both ml and mc are geniuses and hiding it which makes for some great moments especially when they both believe that the other is as s*upid as they make themself out to be. No homophobic comments by classmates and everyone is very accepting and has their own character with their own goals and personality which fleshes out the novel in a good way. 

The novel has a manhua which I believe is unfinished but the drawing style is fitting and the characters are nice to look at. 

Overall not much angst and all issues are addressed and more or less resolved by the ending of the novel which is satisfying. During the extras which are set post-ending, we see mc and ml’s life together and how cohesive their lives are. 

Has a small fandom on all sites but there’s good fan content here and there.  <<less

I devoured this novel within a day and it sure delivered. This experience is one I wish I could re live for the first time simply because of how well they do the more convoluted plot points. There are a couple areas here and there where some phrases don’t make sense, such as when mc is baffled with his ‘millions of years’ of experience despite living in a world that was stated to have only been formed tens of thousands of years ago. Another one that I couldn’t get my head around was one of the rifts sealing and the help being attributed to mc/ml but neither of them did so it did leave me... more>> pondering. 

Other than that, I have zero complaints. Mc is a cold icy beauty who cherishes the world and wants to preserve the inhabitants but he is self aware and sarcastic during the best moments. A personal favourite trait of his is how he complains ml is bad in bed and will still sleep with him. Ml also endeavours to improve because of it and it’s a bit of an inside joke between them. 

Ml outwardly is cold and domineering but in reality is a wife guy. He’s charming in his own ridiculous ways that nobody but the mc or someone down bad could tolerate and when he has a mission to fulfil, he stops at nothing to complete it when it’s for mc.

The story in itself features several other disputes that have to be settled and other people’s relationships and how mc and ml interfere for the better (at least when it comes to mc) and some become reoccurring characters who hate great importance to mc. The side characters are fleshed out and have intricate characteristics that are intrinsic to them. They are written like people too and not just a flat one dimensional person with the singular function of pushing mc and ml together or the like. 

It also contains a more unique perspective on transmigration and systems that I don’t see very often which is a refreshing change considering how saturated the isekai trope has become. 

The last 30 or so chapters are very plot centric with explanations and emphasis on all the questions you’re left with concerning their last and why they are so extraordinary considering their world. The extras mainly focus on a fantasy and is very fluffy which can be soothing if you find the last few plot chapters on the angstier side. There is also slight focus on a side pairing and their relationship developing albeit in minor details but the other dynamic isn’t a copy paste repeat of the main ship so it’s quite refreshing. 

The side pairing at the end also gets its own novel called ‘After Becoming Enemies With The Lord God’ which is on my to read list. 

In total this novel deserves to be dedicated at least a day of your life because it is indeed that good.  <<less
