I mostly agree with you.
But I consider bad endings necessary.
I found a good one some time ago, but it was MTL.
Not sure if the website is still up, but it was on Cyborg TL.
The name is something like [I became the traitor at the Academy].
The "real" ending is happy (sort of), but some side stories are "what if" chapters, which can be very interesting.
