World hopping (not quick transmigration)
World hopping (not quick transmigration)
A type of lightnovels I really like is world hopping. However, I really dislike those silly quick transmigration novels with lots of romance. Hence, most novels in this list will have little to no romance.
The specific type of novels that will be in this list are ones where the MC originates from Earth and goes back and forth between Earth and other worlds. There will be some exceptions. Although most novels here have a game system, it is just a coincidence and not actually what this list is about.
The novels here will be ranked from the ones I like the most to the ones I like less. Any novel I haven't read yet will be ranked according to its number of stars.
If you know any others novels of this type, please tell me in the comments so I can add them to this list.

One of my favorite novels. It perfectly fits with the theme of this list. The MC has 48 hours a day as the title says and uses them to actually train and gradually get stronger. The world hopping gets it even more interesting as he receives a mission in another world at least once a month. There are also some game elements with skills but those still come from the MC's training and not simply from OP skill books.... more>>

Again a great novel about world hopping. It happens mostly in virtual reality but that doesn't really affect the story since the real world is... more>>

A great world hopping novel. The main character is extremely intelligent but can also turn into a serial killer at times which is his second personality. Since most characters at least at the beginning are former death row prisoners, it makes the story new and interesting.... more>>

This novel is a bit different than the other ones as it contains some romance, especially yaoi. It is not too present so far (C40.2) and mostly centered around the various worlds and mystery solving. It also helps a lot that the MC truly tries his best to solve the cases, so he won't have time to go around for mindless romance.... more>>

It doesn't exactly fit the theme as the MC doesn't return to the real world every time but to some other places (no spoil, you'll see when reading it). The world hopping is great although not always in an actual full world but sometimes in a closed space.... more>>

Thanks to the person who recommended that. I plan on reading it soon.

I really enjoyed reading up to the first few worlds of this novel. However as the worlds originate from various manga, it is pretty much impossible to read it when you haven't read (or even finished) the related manga. The author will not explain certain points of the worlds and assume that readers have already read the corresponding manga. He also manages to spoil a lot of the manga as well, while somehow changing many things. To fully enjoy reading this, you need to have read and seen many mangas or animes.... more>>

Here are some additional novels I would consider to be world hopping:
1.Carefree path of dreams: no World hopping for the first 100 chapters or so, but once he moves to another place, it's also quite good and by the same author who write Warlock of the Magus World.
2. Custom made demon king: The demons "descend" to various worlds which are actually from Movies/games etc.
3. The Sage Who Transcended Samsara: maybe the most boring work by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, made quite hard to follow by the translation which have all the unique abilities being named in a strange way, still it does contain a certain form of world hopping.
Read Way of the Devil
the first 300 chapters are in the same world, but in different areas. Then after that it's pure world hopping
my favourite out of all of them, even if the pre-world hop isn't my favourite.
The protagonist is an A-class maniac, and you should never take him seriously. it's part of the charm
doomsday wonderland
