I really like the characters' complexity, how their environment will influence them and have consequences later on the story. I also like the couple, it's just sad that the ML is too traumatized by his experience and too afraid of love so he makes a bunch of mistakes (ノಥ｣ಥ)ノ彡┻┻). It's interesting how the couple sometimes differ in their point of view and what will result from it. The only weird thing is this title... why "Deposed Empress" she never was (translation mistake?).

A thrilling adventure novel. It's a good survival game where the protagonist has to hurry up and grow. Also the romance is not bad, the yaoi tag is actually not really important here. The MCs do have s*x but the metaphor of their first night was a bit too powerful that I had to read it twice to understood it was a s*x scene (and not a fight scene) and after they kind of skip them.
