I wish this was more common, I also don't enjoy the whole 'someone has to be the wife in a gay relationship, and husband in a lesbian relationship' trope. Even real life couples refer to themselves as '夫夫' (husband-husband) or call each other da husband and xiao husband if they need to differentiate.
