There's court politic, it's not skipped but it's not mentioned too in detail as well so you don't feel like matters are being way too glazed over nor too complicated that it doesn't match the tone of the story. The protagonist's "halo" is real but it's presented in a way that doesn't make you feel annoyed, you even like it.

The first chapter is already brutal enough. Yeah, the tragedy tag really doesn't lie. I've read and written quite a lot of stories but to me this is still the angstiest. Especially since it's a rebirth story that's quite realistic in a way that your new choices don't necessarily mean everything is all good now.

This story isn't for the faint-hearted. The court politic is very heavy and explained in details, including the capital punishments. I was affected for a long time after reading this. The song I listened to often when I was reading this is still able to inflict that angsty emotion in me even now.

Beware of all the warnings before deciding to read. But if you're okay with all of them then this is a very good serious novel to read! <<less

The MC suffers all kind of pain that comes with different statuses and power. You'll know what I mean when you read this. The author is fair in the treatment of the characters, every position has its own struggles and difficulties. No one has it easy.

The MC isn't made to be extremely likeable. But he's realistic and he takes responsibility on what he chooses to do. He doesn't pretend to be righteous but he holds on to his principles. In the end, this is what charms you to him. As you go through the story even if you have different values or wishes, you still empathize with him.

The ML isn't made to be perfect or likeable as well. He takes his duty seriously. His personality doesn't change just because romance comes into his life. This story is on the realistic side. The love is strong but that doesn't mean it'll always be high up in the priority list.

But the love between the MC and the ML doesn't lose out either. It's great and it fills up your chest to the point of suffocating at times. It's pure even with all the pain and struggles that come with.

The story deals a lot with duty vs heart. To take responsibility or to abandon everything. Your heart will be filled with both understanding and misery when you read this.

This novel is filled with angst and has a serious tone. If you love tearjerker story, this one is a delicious treat! The plot is excellent and there are some twists too. I love this novel and I will re-read it in the future. <<less

When I started reading this the translation wasn't completed and I was really hooked by the story that had been posted. I then followed from the last posted chapter until the last one. I still like the story but not with as much fervor as before.

The story is about quick transmigration. I love transmigration or rebirth stories but with so many novels out there with this genre it's easy to compare and feel things are too repetitive. It's easy to hit or miss.

I really love half (not literally half, maybe even 200+ chapters) of this novel. The premise is good, there are new things to be offered despite the genre being qt. There are some decent foreshadowing and twists. The arcs are interesting and heartfelt in their own ways.

The MC is especially lovable. Although he gradually becomes more OP, at least the author creates a "learning process" which makes it quite understandable. I actually don't mind him being OP as the story progresses (I quite like this blooming flower kind of MC given a suitable background/plot).

The MLs could be scummy in some arcs but it's not that bad. The most important thing is that the MLs fall for MC and are devoted to him although the when, how, or why differ in each arc.

The stories make me laugh and sad. There are fluffs there are angsts. There are a whole lot of sweetness and love, maybe even possessiveness and obsession, but accompanied by a lot of pain. The chapters dedicated for MLs are particularly sad so whenever you read that kind of chapters prepare your heart first!

Since this is a QT story, some arcs can actually be a standalone novel. Even if some arcs don't hit you immediately, usually nearing the end you'll be quite attached. I especially like arc 3, arc 4 (perhaps my favorite for multiple reasons), arc 7, arc 8, and arc 13. The other arcs I also like for their own charm especially nearing the end as usually that's when everything falls into place and really hits my feeling.

But sometimes arcs can be too long and if it happens to be one of the arcs you don't really get attached to (or at least not immediately) reading that arc can feel quite painful, a test to your patience. There are probably times you wanna skip reading but you also want to finish reading properly, consume everything word by word. It's a special kind of torture where you want to know everything that happens but your limited attention span begs you to take a peek of the next arc already. In short, things can be redundant sometimes.

A problem I feel is really a pity since initially I really loved this story is that, nearing the end the author seems to rush everything. The earlier chapters are explained in details (perhaps some are too detailed which makes it a bit too long at times), but the later chapters get shortened and are less detailed which shouldn't be a problem if done correctly but I can't help but feel like the author just wants to immediately end the story because they've gotten tired already but don't really have the choice to stop halfway.

Some people have their own reasons for liking or not liking the re-arcs. I actually quite like it and feel this is one of the uniqueness of this novel. But not every re-arc chapter is treated fairly. Half of the re-arc feels repetitive, a happily ever after story with not that many variations to it.

I also pity some unnecessary elements the author input in the story. Even though I'm the type to try to understand from the characters' pov, when some upsetting things are inputted but not explored it could potentially caused some readers to be enraged and the negative comments do affect my mood to a certain degree.

I love cheklov's gun principle and when it's not followed it does feel like the story is not finished satisfyingly and incomplete. There's a great fanfare of foreshadowing and a possible formidable frenemy and backstory but in the end it's never fully explored or explained. I hope there'll be some extras in the future, maybe it could make the ending smoother and the story more complete.

All in all this novel has a lot of potential to be great, just need some cleaning up in the later half to make the tone of the first 200 chapters or so to be the same with the rest. I really do love MC, I find him courageous and selfless but not s*upid. I may re-read the novel in the future for some of my favorite arcs (especially a certain arc that makes my heart ache, maybe I should write a fanfiction to give justice to the characters in that arc).

Maybe this novel isn't the best but it's also not bad or horrible. To me it still deserves 4.5 rating^^ <<less

The plot is great. Although there's not much twists, the relationship between characters and their dialogues/monologues are enough to keep my interest all throughout the end. I love how the side characters, even those who only appear in the gaming world are fleshed out. By the end you'll still remember their long names and their specific traits without feeling that the story has shifted focus. The friendship is ever present and the family bond is great too. Even the random fujoshis add more spice to the story.

It's a gaming story but I think the story is still easy to follow even by those who don't really play games (the translator also does such a good job in leaving concise explanation about some gaming terms and slangs).

Leave this for last because I'm afraid it's gonna be spoiler-ish,

The ML is not overbearing, extremely warm and loving! He may look unapproachable but he's not some heartless cold person. His love for MC is so endearing. I'm drowned in fluff and the sweet romance between our MC and ML~ (even though I'm drowning, I'd still accept whatever dog food the author throws my way so hoping for more extras!!!)

I laughed a lot reading this! I honestly didn't expect it would have a heavy school setting, and even a highschool setting one at that, but aside from the initial surprise everything has been a very delightful ride! To me this novel has the vibe of gokusen minus the frequent fights and dragon zakura but substitute the teacher with our main leads (and expand the scale) :D

I've read many transmigration and rebirth stories, but this is still feel quite fresh. Usually there'll be many intense revenge and face-slapping sessions. But in this novel revenge isn't the main theme. It makes me warm since the two leads are simply living their lives to the fullest by each other's side now they're given a chance to start over. Their love and each other are the most important parts to them.

But if you feel no drama no life, don't fret! You still can enjoy some juicy dog blood scenes where justice prevails! You will feel satisfied but not uneasy because of "over" retribution. Everyone simply gets served what they deserve.

The two leads handle everything so maturely and calmly as if they're unfazed by everything life may throw their ways, so you won't feel tired reading their story as they relive it. There's no endless scheming that's explained too in detail so you will feel full by the nice plot and won't lose your head trying to keep up with everything.

The two leads are really wonderful people. Despite their blinding pda, they really really care for the wellness of their loved ones. They're also not unnecessarily stubborn. They listen to reason, they communicate well, and they know their priorities. They don't step allover other people but they also won't let others use them. They give and take in balance. They also don't waste their opportunities, truly using their experience and advanced knowledge to enhance their lives and everyone around them.

This novel is light and warm. It gives the youthful theme package. The friendship is great! The studying and the efforts are awe-inspiring. Even some of the teachers deserve honorable mentions. The family aspect isn't left out and is talked about in a way that makes you feel fond even with all the flaws.

I love this novel! It really motivates me in its own way. It elevates my mood to a certain degree.
