Reading List of a Serious Bibliophile

Reading List of a Serious Bibliophile
I'm fairly new to web novels, especially Asian ones. But I am particular about what I read and with honest conscience, can recommend to others. This a just a random list to keep track of what I've read and found worth my while; below is my criteria for what passes for a good read. It's all really vague at this point because I got scarred by few novels which made me seriously wonder - just what the hell is going on in East Asia - so I haven't read many despite bookmarking quite a few.

Translation: Excellent -> Great -> Good (readable)

Storyline: Interesting. Well-written. Realistic or at least, plausible.

No. of chapters: 200-300. Because 300+ novels are seldom good.

Genre: All. Still exploring.

Setting: Historical. Fantasy. Modern. Based on real life events.

Characters: Strictly no OP leads. Have to be at least 2D. Would be great if they resemble real life people.

Any and all recommends are welcome. More the merrier.

The premise of the story is thought out and well written - the political mystery/case is Actually a serious investigation, rather than a prop to bring the leads together or, to show off the leads' "intelligence". ... more>>

The only thing I want to say is - I came for the mystery, the chase, the secret agencies and I was satisfied. The romance was just a sweet touch. The story is so good you don't need a romance to keep your readers hooked. It's THAT good. If this was a published book, I'm sure it would have flown off the shelves.... more>>

Translation is excellent. The translator really must be proficient in Chinese as well as English. Storyline is very interesting. Genre, well that's the interesting bit!... more>>

This is parody of every White lotus Bottom/Smut Top CN you ever came across. Also, surprisingly the 2nd lead upgrades to romance the 1st lead! I didn't know I needed it till I read this one! Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be many novels catering to our second lead syndrome phenomenon. ... more>>

This so far is the only purely Romcom novel that made it to my reading list. It's a light-hearted, college romance between two studious students, competing for 1st rank. ... more>>

God I really love the honest straightforward way you give reviews! It's easy to understand if I would like a novel or not. Thank you for the reviews! (also some recommendations if you're taking them: "Fight the landlord, fall in love" and "Fake slackers" are some of my favourite short novels which are pretty cute)
