This one is a mixed bag of pleasures. While it's a perfect novel for those who want possessive yandere ML and a strong and capable FL with her own agenda, plus an obligatory escape (as the titles says), the FL is a Mary Sue and the ML is pretty much too ... Too Handsome, too strong, too smart, too everything. But the story makes up for it and FL really does properly run away, so for this list, it's a bullseye! ... more>>

WHEN DOES THE FL ESCAPE: It happens mid way in the story, FL has plans and being with ML doesn't quite cover them, so she just disappears and does her own stuff for three years. The interesting/unusual thing is, the ML is okay with it at first, sure that she will return to him. WRONG! When he finally get it into his genius head that she won't return, he goes berserk and all bets are of... Swoon!    <<less

The story is okay, the characters too, FL has her good moments and the ML is actually really well written from a psychological standpoint. Main problem is an uneven pacing and awkward time skips. WHEN DOES THE FL ESCAPE: It happens sometime mid way. The ML is away on "official business" (as per his father's order, who deliberately sets it up so that the FL disappears and they never get together properly), and when he returns in a frenzy to see the FL, puff she's gone. This totally pushes his over the edge and he becomes a warmonger tyrant with a very broken core.  <<less

FL is actually a woman of integrity and a core of steel, and has her very valid reasons for doing things, and the ML is such a cutie you can't help but vouch for him! Their daughter is also adorable. WHEN DOES THE FL ESCAPE: When the novel starts, FL is already an escapee for several years, with a daughter in tow. Her escape left a profound mark on the ML, who completely changed her life so he can one day find her and be worthy of her name and status.  And completely ruined high emotional well being and sleeping habits as a side effect.   <<less

And except the ML, most of the other characters are not that alluring. The FL is okay, but nothing to write home about. WHEN DOES THE FL ESCAPE: It happens somewhere in the later middle of the novel, after the ML and FL enter a very illicit, crazy and coercive relationship/arrangement. ML is engaged to another woman (purely for societal reasons), and FL can't take it anymore. ML's mental state deteriorates fast afterwards, he becomes addicted to sleeping pills and loses all sense of time... But he'll be back.  <<less

WHEN DOES THE FL ESCAPE: Somewhere about 20th chapter mark, so still early on, Evelyn decided to escape to evade the Duke and not get married to him. Luckily for him, he has an extensive spy network and works very hard to find her... And he does, pretty soon.  <<less
