I dropped it bc I got a bit bored but I'd still give it 5 stars. I just woke up one day without wanting to continue it but I have very few complaints that don't really affect the plot. Very very enjoyable, it's based in our world and it was exciting seeing so many references. Seeing so many songs I enjoy! I'm a bit of a Korean oldies enthusiast, or oldies in general, or Korean music too... and it was so fun! I also love reading biographies of music geniuses and you know, among a sea of musical genius novels, this one feels the most realistic, maybe because of the references, or because the personality... more>> of the MC was real. Some parts were invented though. My complaints are really only of the same nature so they aren't real complaints, I just had kind of high expectations lol, like wrong facts but obviously that doesn't affect the story since maybe in that world it just happened like that. Just obviously don't use this as a reference book for music facts. Anyway it was fun, among musicians I like that were referenced were Quincy Jones, Marvin Gaye, Jung Taechoon, Kim Kwangsook, N.EX.T / Shin Haechul, Lena Park, etc. OP performed one of Jung taechoon's songs and a N.EX.T song and knowing those songs, listening to them while you read it, after all feels better than just using your imagination. I'm focusing on that, but that isn't all there is to the novel haha, there are plenty of novels about "geniuses" but this is the only novel where the MC actually does come across as a genius (most of the time*). The author did a great job!!

* WARNING (IRRELEVANT RANT NO ONE CARES ABOUT, IT'S JUST ME VENTING): Imo his comment on the harmonica didn't fit his genius self and it irked me, I understand that it was a scene to make him notice the FL, bc the author already knew the power of the harmonica. But what kind of musical genius that can recognize so many instruments and fully memorize performances think that the harmonica is only used in folk and country?? I have so much to say about this but it's better left unsaid because it is unnecessary but in short: First of all, it just does not fit the image the author gave him. I'd believe this of anyone except the MC that was painted as some omnipotent music genius. If he had listened to a song with the harp he would've recognized it and remembered it to a tee. And based on the background he was given, he should've listened to the harmonica in songs other than folk and country. 

And second of all, the FL could only be playing a chromatic harmonica which is different to the diatonic one in the way that uh... it can play the chromatic scale, it is bigger and has a button to play semi tones. Unlike the diatonic that can only play a specific scale. That is the harp that is mainly used in blues, country and folk since those songs usually stay in one key. And it is the harmonica that most people know. Anyway, the chromatic harp is actually used for Jazz (like Toots Thielemans) or Classical music. Plus it really is not that underground, Stevie Wonder popularized it and showed the world the power of the harmonica. Most of us should've listened to non-folk non-country songs that had harmonica, even if our idea of harmonica songs are Bob Dylan's music and we hadn't noticed that other songs had harmonica in them. 

Plus obviously there are the blues but eh, I'll just take it as if the MC forgot to mention it when he said country and folk, because this could be a third point by itself.  And you know what? I'm gonna mention it too. The MC was supposed to be a classical, blues and jazz fan. Did he not notice that the harmonica is of the main instruments in blues? That is very unlikely. One doesn't have to dig deep to stumble upon the harp in a blues song. And after all the harmonica is even called the blues harp... I mean mayhaps the author should've left the blues out of the MCs favorite genres. And I guess he also didn't listen to enough Jazz, although the harp isn't mainstream in the genre Toots gave place to it in the genre and he has even worked with musicians mentioned in the novel so I do find it weird that the MC hadn't come across his music. Although ofc there's also the option that he didn't exist, only certain people existed, like JYP didn't exist but SYP did lool. It's just me getting too immersed into the novel because IT IS GOOD.

Also, the wrong fact was iirc something about Elvis first aired performance being confused with his last (Which is a non issue since it was just some side character mentioning it and normal people make mistakes and it's just a very irrelevant fact), and it also irked me how they (MC and friend) used rock and rock n roll interchangeably but that's just me gatekeeping it so technically it's not wrong I guess. But I'm still a believer that rock n roll ≠ rock and music novels often refer to rock as rock n roll probably because they think that's the genre's full name or something.

Still this is a 5/5 I just needed to let that out, this novel was good enough for me to be nitpicky, I've seen other novels treat the harmonica as a toy instrument and it didn't bother me bc I didn't hold any expectations but uh yeah, this was still an enjoyable novel that I still didn't finish bc I got bored but musically wise it's good. I guess maybe you could just watch a documentary or film of a music genius or read their biographies and be just as entertained. <<less

It is def a great 70s novel, it was also refreshing because the MC didn't do the usual black market selling. Although something it still has in common with pretty much all 70s novels is her cooking talent. It was still nice, seeing her and her family rise. I also think the characters were done fairly well. It is a HQ novel so I think it is worth reading, the MTL is also easy to read. <<less

It is very much a quality Korean aristocratic novel, it has a bit of a mystery behind the changes to that timeline, it has a cute pet, kind somewhat of a pushover MC imo (like sometimes he doesn't want to do x but he still ends up doing it anyway), etc. It also isn't the typical cliché of the oriMCs being evil so that's nice. Overall it is good and the way the MC transmigrates as the 2nd male lead is refreshing, plus his attitude is quite realistic I guess. But still, I just don't find myself that curious about it, it is not particularly funny and some parts are just skippable imo. The sense of humor is great though, but it is not enough to actually make me laugh or make me stay for the laughs, it just has some amusing puns and references. You might like it if you really like this genre though. He does act a bit dumb when interacting with the oriMCs tho.  <<less

This is more concentrated on his righteous person's missions than on other areas, so not all arcs have romance. Missions are stuff like build schools, garner gratitude, help women, etc. Basically he makes the world a better place. The arcs are pretty variated, some are supernatural, not all of them have romance and not all of them have comedy, and most of the time the past arcs aren't that relevant to the next arcs so they stories feel more like individual little stories. I really like its premise of the system, coupled with this MC it is a great combination. It's hard to find CN novels like this, it's quite refreshing. Plus the topics of those stories make you think! It's just boring, I thought it was longer so I kept on reading thinking there could be some twists, maybe something exciting you know, but nope... that was all. I didn't know the shoujo ai was just the subplot lmfao. I just clicked on the novel bc of the cute art cover. Suddenly I just reached the end, I didn't even bother reading the extras, they could make it better but idc. I usually wouldn't rlly care much about a good plot or deep characters if it were funny or at least amusing but I guess the author and I have a different sense of humor. 

About the characters, I guess the villainess actually fit her title, she got her dog to push a guy she didn't know into a lake and laughed about it, but they still kind of white washed her. The MC is just very typical and basically all characters are 2D. But everything about this novel is just light hearted so whatever I guess. <<less

 I honestly felt uncomfortable with the romance at first because the ML is not even a human, but as time passed they were able to communicate well and... something that you can see in the tags happened. Instead of seeing the ML as an animal just view them as a fantasy humanoid species. I did the read the human-nonhuman relationship tag but I thought it'd be something that could unexplainably speak her language or had human intelligence. The ML still has its high intelligence tho and his mind was somewhat humanized but it still drew the distinction between the species. Another thing that made me uncomfortable was her age, she started being 15 or 16 and the last thing I wanted to see was a kid do the deed, but the romance is slow, I'm not sure how old she was by then but I wouldn't consider her a child by then. <<less

by the last few chapters I was just expecting them to not end up together, I thought the FL would just be the one that got away. None of them are evil or anything, but after so long I think one should move on from their first love / ex-partner, especially if that first love has already shown rejection and avoidance – I don't care if they had feelings for them, that doesn't make the other person not feel hurt.
