These are my favorite BL novels so far, those I enjoyed and recommend the most ranked higher on the list (I consider all MASTERPIECES)

I enjoy stories: that have a heavy plot, with lots of action, mysteries, near-death experiences (includes violence and gore), recurring genre - FANTASY; with complex, interesting characters, with their own internal & external conflicts, with both flaws and strenghts, not entirely evil nor good; that are intricate, intense, philosophical, psychological, that require you to think and from which you can learn sth new; NOT EXCLUSIVELY FOCUSED ON ROMANCE, but have a little bit of everything: angst, fluff, romance, s*xual content, humor, tragedy, death; HAPPY ENDING

The ROMANCE / COUPLE ASPECT: I enjoy ORGANIC, SLOW developing relationships, where the 'love' comes not (only) bc of physical attraction, but because of one's character. I enjoy deep, RESPECTFUL love. I DETEST abusive, imbalanced relationships filled with senseless drama, where the Seme/Gong is abusive, obsessed and too overbearing & the Uke/ Shou is highly dependent of the other, weak, overly femininized, brainless around the Gong. Smut is welcomed. I hate r*pe and repeated non-con s*xual content that goes overboard (I accept 1 or a few kisses that are non-con, but nothing more). The characters must exist outside 'the couple', as individuals, to have their own opinions and principals, problems and conflicts and interact with other characters form the story
