Since it's a short story, it's only a fragment of MC's life. Nevertheless, he does not know how to "speak well" and does not understand social codes well, so his taciturn image does not crumble too much xD Neither MC nor ML are very social people, they are alike on this point.

It's not a story with a lot of twists and drama, but MC has a tragic past (related to his family and his sexuality, his psychological wounds are no joke). Overall it's a sweet and healing story. MC is quite passive, while ML is very enthusiastic (with him), they each find their part. The professional part is unrealistic, the author didn't research too much, but that's not very important, since the story focuses more on relationships.

I expected a fluff and light read, like other school life novels, but I was wrong. I hadn't read the key words before reading, but I'm not going to say it was a bad surprise, it made the story a little more unique. Warning: self harm, cruel death and families relationship are... meh. It's not heavy-handed and I didn't feel the darkness of the subject too much while reading it, but avoid this story if it's one of your triggers.

The revenge part is satisfying, not excessive and you feel that the characters have grown.

For the main couple, I haven't find them really healthy, nor always cute, and it would be nice if they saw a therapist xD Well, ML is yandere-ish, he is the most possessive, but also the most dependent in this relationship. Some details made me wince, but MC likes it and is very aware of ML's tendencies. In fact, MC and ML are a bit alike on this aspect, it's just more present for one than for the other. Everything is clear and everything is always consented, they have good communication, no sh*tty lies.

I'm a little frustrated that we don't know the origin of MC's "bloodsucker" trait. We know it probably runs in the family, but that's it. I don't know if I'm thinking too much, but I always wondered if the death of MC's father was related to this legacy. After all, this point has not been developed either, allowing my imagination to run wild xD

The story can be summarized by: hoarding, fighting zombies and mutated creatures and building the base. The revenge side does not take up too much space, the s*um get into trouble very well on their own (but it isn't less satisfying). MC and ML are in love from the beginning of the story and are together soon enough, they don't stay beating around the bush xD

Like any ordinary person, he is baffled by MC, who is obsessed with becoming his father. Eventually he can only become helpless and charmed xD

MC is a good guy, who is exclusively attracted to bad characters (and who are beautiful /oops/) and a bit chuuni. ML is indifferent, except to MC, to whom he is completely devoted. Even if it's supposed to be in modern time, MC wasn't lost with the ML's family mess, because it was similar to his own time (ML's father had four wives in his life and children with each of them, with the interest conflict that come with). It upset me that the previous generation's mess had to be cleaned up by their children and ML couldn't stay out of it. The end of the family drama left a bad taste in my mouth.

Other than that, this story is mostly sugar and dog food.

It's a fairly short story and that's fine. If the ending had dragged on too much I wouldn't have been able to bear it, too many knives between these lines.
