Novels that are enjoyable and hold their own, at least for the most part. I try to avoid putting novels that are overly nationalistic or misogynistic here too, (those are my main two pet peeves in novels that I see all the time) although there are a few exceptions.

There isn't any super complicated plots, amazing big brain turnarounds with impeccable strategy, or even deep romances; just pure action and fighting. The plot supports it as well, so it doesn't feel overly forced.
