@miawallace Actually, they're (the one's I'm in at least) completely free! The reason why they're private is due to the hunt for illegal translations. Most of them don't wish to be sued by authors like any would. Less number of people would mean less number of snitches. Especially since Authors now know of many private translators and such many disappeared. They simply don't wish to be the next one on the list and wish to peacefully translate novels. I recommend checking the Instagram Translators follow list and slowly find them through there if you do follow any that is. This recommendation list is just a list of few novels that either fully translated or actively translated by private groups. Mostly for any public Translators who wishes not to get into drama with such such translators (from what I've seen, some private TLers are actually pretty strict for courtesy purposes. Tho most are pretty chill)
