Something about same gender siblings getting along and acting like siblings just speaks to my family fluff loving heart. Unfortunately, a vast majority of asian novels (cough chinese cough) seem to think that opposite gender siblings= best, brother/sister complex (and borderline romantic gross) and same gender sibling= toxic, sisters ABSOLUTELY CANNOT SUPPORT EACH OTHER, must steal fiance or be a jealous biatch (same gender brothers to a lesser degree as well). Maybe is because I have a bunch of sisters (and only one brother), but my best friends are my siblings! This list is for all those with good relationships with their siblings. I agree with you. I mean, brother and sister should forever be a family, not lovers or anything like that. Thus, a good brother and sister relationship is an older brother and younger sister who care for each other.
I have made recommendation of Japanese novels which are not expected in*est ending. These are only stories of brother and sister who care each other as a family.

I do recommend ‘The Tanaka Family Reincarnates,’ basically a family of five being transported into another fantasy world and with all the misunderstandings and rumors with other residents of the world. The older brother and younger brother is really protective over their sister even if they seem to dislike her attitude and action. The father is a doting and a fool for the mc and the mother is basically the calm and collective type of the family!
There’s cats as well who also passed away before the family and has already been in that world waiting for them! I love the interaction between the cats and the family <3
For leisurely living in tang dynasty,
the brotherhood is certainly there alright but not the kind of i respect you you respect me we are respectable brothers. oh helll na, our MC is THE bratty younger brother who you know loves you a lot but god do you wanna strangle that kid while his elder brother appreciates this one soul who treats him normally. tho the emperor's sentiment is hidden deep inside all those headaches and annoyances and ruckus his lil bro causes. MC also likes his neices and nephews very much very platonic.
TLDR; HIGHLY RECOMMENDED lol
