He's a craftsman who ended up betraying his adoptive younger brother in his first life and greatly regretting it. After getting the chance to start anew and turn back time, he decides to spoil said brother to death! As for the ML, he's wholly devoted to his older brother but the 'Dao of Heaven' has stubbornly forced them into separate sides. The MC is the star of salvation, with great martial strength and a mysterious royal bloodline. While the ML is the star of destruction, with dark cultivation and a mysterious demonic bloodline. The novel follows their path to greatness. There's lots of people impeding them but also their innate luck bringing them countless opportunities to grow and flourish. I stopped reading because there's a storyline where the two are separated after everyone is made to forget the MC. There was also a very boring arc before that, and then this new arc has a time skip and a completely new setting, which was pretty disorienting... anyway, next time i read it, I should hopefully be more prepared!  <<less

The setting is not bad either, but it's low-level when it comes to focus. It's the plot that kind of suffers because of the sudden escalation with the SYSTEM and all. I'll definitely reread this again! It's a dark story and it can be pretty gloomy at times. However, the author balances it with the right type of humor to lighten the mood. The characters and their dynamics are pretty special. Kind of similar to SVSSS. The Shou!MC is a transmigrator that is obsessed with his research and has a very low EQ. Very similar to Shen Yuan, but the SY version of himself, not the SQQ version. The Gong!ML is also similar to LBH. He has a horrible background, and was humiliated since he was a young teenager... So, he has a lot of things to work on. Fortunately, the innocent and naive MC is there to add some 'cleanliness' to his once dark world. When rereading, remember that this is a slow-burn romance that focuses more on worldbuilding. Ignore the spoiler on the CG summary page, cause it's a bit misleading and cause you to have false expectations. <<less

Setting wasn’t all that explored either. The only good points are that the translation is not as bad as I expected, despite it being from flying lines. This awakens the MC’s desire to help (he’s naturally kindhearted), and leads to their path being intersected again and again.Romance is the main focus here. Though it’s slow burn, so the development is mostly unknown to me. If you’re looking for a chill read with not too many ups and downs, just the regular lives of two teens, then this is worth the read. The TL is good and the wholesome vibes, even if it wasn’t for me in the end, felt very pleasant! <<less

This would be a little suffocating if the characters weren’t so mild LOL. both the MC and ML are the stoic type that don’t express their emotions freely.This makes it clear that the focus of the novel is focused more so on the setting (the circumstances of all the different worlds) than the romance or the characters themselves. The main focus of the novel is definitely the e-sports gameplay. The characters are secondary, and even the side CPs are about even in terms of appearances with the main CP. The main character is a god-level player who has been bogged down by his teammates (who were average players), and had never won a trophy before. After disbanding his team for the second time at the age of 24, the most logical move for him is to have retired. However, he doesn’t let his past bring him down and chooses to start a new, stronger team instead.

As for the ML (beware of minor spoilers) : This is a first for me to see two rival characters. In e-sports novels, the two main characters are usually in the same team. But that’s don’t the case for this one. The ML and MC do have a close relationship and we’re given a chance of being in the same team in the past. However, they were separated by fate and never even got to compete against one another seriously. Of course, this next season, that’s bound to change.[collapse] <<less

There doesn’t seem to be much drama, it’s mostly slice of life stuff, and exploring relationship and family dynamics (the ML has a child from a previous marriage). Ended up not finishing it this time but I’ll check it out again later. Oh, and!EXTRA NOTE: This novel does in fact have smut. And it’s quite explicit as well. However, it’s not the focus of the story. And doesn’t really take up much screen time. <<less

The novel focuses mainly on the wholesome relationship between the MC (Jun Qingyu) and the ML (Fu Yuanchuan). The MC transmigrated into a tiny little mermaid after reading a book where the ML had gotten a BE. His motivations for helping the ML to the extent that he does is unexplained, but he’s very affection to the ML from the get-go. Going as far as to take revenge for him before they even met. I didn’t finish reading the novel but it was content with where I left off. There’s some external plot going on, but I mainly cared about the development of the main couple and, anyway, since the TL is unfinished, I decided it would be best to stop while I was ahead and just come back for a reread later! I read a similar novel before this, “After Becoming a Mermaid, I was raised”, with a similar premise. But the vibe of both novels are quite different. The aforementioned novel was very super light while this novel is more subtly sweet. Kind of a dry humor kind of tone.

As for the content I’ve read so far... my opinion is *thinkingface* well, it’s a bit ambivalent? I chose it because I remember reading an SVSSS fic with the exact premise and wanted to see the original lolol this one has the MC being a repeat Transmigrator that wants to be a villain with depth... but fails because of the white lotus halo (which doesn’t feature as much as I though it would) and because he’s too non-villainous despite his great acting skills. There’s a bit of a mystery going on cause the MC’s memories aren’t complete. As for the ML, he becomes hooked in almost immediately because of misunderstandings. Definitely not your average ML. Kind of like a white lotus Binghe, but older! Anyways!!! I’ll come back to read it again later and leave a proper review then <<less
