From then on, he pretty much builds relationship with his new family — especially with the eldest brother, the ML~ It’s not as dramatic as the summary may imply. As mentioned, the tone is very light and humorous. So there are not many ups and downs. Mainly it’s the MC acting cute and coquettish unknowingly and a lot of banter. Overall very down to earth. Kind of one-note, in sense. So if you’re looking for something exciting, then this isn’t it. This is definitely a relax and chill kind of novel you read to pass the time.

He gets a second chance at life and is directly reborn as an 18yo. At the time, he was still living in a semi-rural area as a high school student aiming to get into college. So the first arc of the novel is him taking on the college entrance exams and getting past his family drama. This part was relatively slow, it takes a bit of time for him to push into business, and most of his moves are the high-risk, almost-gambling type, so it doesn’t have the tone most poor-to-rich novels have (which usually involve putting in a lot of effort to earn capital and slowly working hour way up). He’s in it to earn big, so he doesn’t waste his time and jumps in directly.Because of this premise, the story has a more mature, fast-paced theme. But the writing itself is a bit slow? As mentioned by other reviewers, the author is quite wordy and has a tendency to add info-dumping. I don’t mind this since I love worldbuilding, but it is admittedly a bit of a dry read at times. The romance with the ML (Xiao Chi) who is very similar to the MC when it comes to investments, is a bit more exciting in contrast. But because the TL stopped right when things were getting spicy, I can’t tell whether further developments will be good T.T I’ll warn you now... I was hoping I would be able to read the MTL for this. But it ended up being horrible! Only 60% readable. It’s weird because some parts are very coherent, and other parts just *explosion*. Anyway, I’m a bit hesitant to give this novel a full rating cause I didn’t finish it. In any case, let's move on to the preliminary overview (I'm not going to give a full review this time and will leave the novel unrated cause I didn't even read the halfpoint mark T.T). This novel is really similar to that one novel about the medical field in the 1990s. As in, it's main focus is exploring those times. There is a reborn MC (Chen Yuanming) changing things up, but his story is secondary. At least, in the first 1/3rd of the novel that I read. If you like poor-to-rich novels, then this one is definitely a novel that you'll want to check out. The MC works his way up from having nothing at 15 years old, until he's making hundreds of millions of dollars as an 18yo. The progress is a bit slow at first, but the author does eventually speed things up as his projects get bigger and bigger.As for our ML, he really doesn't appear much in the first 1/3rd of the story. His main goal is to catch up to the MC , which is almost impossible because of the MC's golden finger (his knowledge of the future and his hard-earned skills in stocks and investments). This is definitely not your typical danmei novel -- since the romance is wayyyyyy undeveloped in the beginning and will remain as such for a long time (I imagine). But there's an appeal to the way the ML is striving to reach the MC's level. Especially when most MLs are usually wayyy ahead.All in all? It was interesting because all the different arcs helped accomplish that goal. Meanwhile, the MC's mission in this novel is a bit… *thinking-face* well, it's a bit ambiguous? So you kinda have to muddle through the different arcs without any sense of urgency. Idk, I stopped reading this two days ago, so my impression may be a bit off (curse my short term memory… T.T)In any case! But there are definitely some problems in the first two arcs that I'm not sure will go away in the future.The issue with this novel is that the main character and the ML are both reactive characters when it comes to the instances. At least, so far. The MC is not able to get involved much as an extra (his main focus is live-streaming what's going on, but he rarely even talks to the livestream, and is mostly there to monologue inwardly — actually, all the characters have a tendency towards monologue and info dumping). Meanwhile, the ML has no interest in progressing through the instances and doesn't do much outside of appear. This makes the instances themselves kind of seem draggy. After all, in most novels, the MC is the one going through instances and discovering things — letting the reader directly experience it through their POV. Here, the MC is literally just a spectator watching things happening. I think the novel holds its weight when it comes to the setting and the plot. But yeah, the reactiveness of the main CP is a bit disappointing. Hope it improves in the future. The side characters aren't really very interesting, despite being POV characters themselves. In fact, they're all very annoying and incomprehensible at times, which make things worse T.T(Update) Not reading anymore. My thoughts on the story is pretty much the same as the night before. I read another arc but completely lost interest by the end. I found the characters mostly interesting, but the lack of activity from the MC and ML really stumps me. I'll have to wait and come back to it another day with a fresher mindset. That is, that this story is more focused on the psychology of normal people. Unlike most survival game novels, where there's always a "hero" character or group doing their best to barrel through the instances, this novel has characters that are pretty tired of it. It's been years since anything has happened and there seems to be no meaning to the instances at all. That is, it's really difficult to die normally, and it's nearly impossible to get up the higher levels. And even if you do, there's always a chance that you'll fall back down and have to do it all over again. This situation produces a lot of side characters with unhealthy mentalities (who are the main focus, since the MC and ML are mostly just spectators.)If you're interested in that kind of story (which is undoubtedly unique -- and i think even one of a kind), then this novel is definitely one to try out. I see now why another reviewer says that the novel's strengths are its weaknesses. Because, on one point, the story truly is intriguing because of newness. However, the way the author went about telling the story because of said uniqueness makes the overall development kind of dry. I'll keep this in mind when I read it next time, and hopefully finish it at that point! Currently, my rating would probably be anywhere between 3-4 stars out of 5. I think it was called "Spiritual Plant Farmer" something something lolol. The MC is a transmigrator (and a rare Gong!MC). The original owner of the body is a veritable cultivation waste (with five spirit roots) and a cannon fodder who is destined to die under the hands of the original protagonist and heroine. Fully knowing his upcoming doom, he decides to find a solution quickly. Not only obtaining the cannon fodder's fortuitous encounter (a magical space that has... more>> a spiritual spring and planting area) but also washing off his waste spirit roots.

In the process, he meets the ML and decides that he's the one for him. It's not really all that romantic, especially since they start off as 13yo (with the MC being mentally older -- which is creepy cause he proposes pretty early). I don't pay much attention to it, and was more focused on the external plot and worldbuilding. This is your typical "level-up" plot where the MC starts off in a low-grade area and slowly grows until he can make it to more energy-rich environments where he has more room to grow.

All in all, not a bad read. Though, if you're looking for a long epic cultivation novel like this, I recommend choosing "I have Medicine" and the "Legendary Master's Wife" instead. You can maybe come back to this after if you like the development of those novels and are desperate for more content hehe even if it's not quite the same quality.

I think if you’re interested in learning more about those times — and getting a more in-depth view on what it would mean to actually study as a scholar back then (I seriously did not expect it to be so complicated and only now realized why it was so hard for characters in other novels to pass the exams lol) — then this is a good read! I wouldn’t say that it’s a fun read, but it has its merits, regardless. There’s a bit of a poor-to-rich development and slow burn romance to tide you ever when things get a bit too boring, so it’s definitely not a complete loss. It’s just a matter of whether or not you’re interested in learning. If not, then I suggest passing this over. The premise of the novel is pretty similar to the summary. The protagonist is someone that used to play a virtual 'dragon raising' game. However, after experiencing an incident, he was transmigrated. From the moment of transmigration, he was already in big danger, but luckily for him, he was transferred to the same planets as his cubs!
