The story does mainly revolve around MC and ML. Even the main antagonist (switched-at-birth-baby) is irrelevant for the first 3/4 of the story. Honestly, it felt like he became the antagonist just cuz he one who got switched into MC's birth family.

Honestly, with the extras, I can understand why ML fell for MC. All his life, he was told (through action) that his only purpose was cater to antagonist. In his mom's eyes, he was an extension of her and antagonist was an extension of bio-mom. By him catering to antagonist, ML's mom is atoning for her sins to bio-mom. It got to the point where he felt like he was nothing but a vehicle for his mom's guilt. But then there's MC who wrote letters just to ML and improved his grades just for ML. This was finally something that was just his (and not his mom's actions through him).

At this point, all the adults have failed MC, ML, and antagonist. MC was maliciously switched by adoptive mom because she wanted best for her child at the expense of another. Adoptive parents don't care about him because he isn't biologically their child (because of their actions). Bio dad/grandparents + ML's mom is so obsessed with bio-mom that they spoil antagonist rotten while also putting so much pressure on antagonist to live up to a ghost. ML's mom straight up prioritizes a painting of bio-mom and antagonist (as an extension of bio-mom) over her child. They all suck <<less
