9/10 *slight spoiler* it’s a switched at birth story and usually I’ll feel rlly bad for both children involved in the swapping.  That applies here too bc u can see that Mu Qingyao has already lost before she even began.  Abusive father, emotionally unstable mother, a brother that basically stops caring as soon as he learns about the MC, and an awful fiancé that she’s stuck with since her dad (also MC’s dad) decided that this engagement is her only worth.  She’s in a terrible situation for sure but that doesn’t stop her from being a bit*h too.  Towards the latter half of the novel, Mu Qingyao stops pestering the MC mostly bc she’s being... more>> pestered by someone else.  She’s a disappointing person but her ending was a little too harsh.  MC’s father is s*um of the earth.  He treats his children and wife like they owe him smth and always talks about how much he does for the family blah blah blah.  His company is failing but that’s due to his own incompetence and he’ll make several bad decisions that will lead to his downfall.  MC’s mom is rlly emotionally weak in the beginning and she lacks confidence which will be expanded on later in the story.  She gets better towards the end and finally grew a spine.  MC’s brother is the taciturn and cold person that’s actually just rlly freakin awkward.  He spends most of the novel being silent.

Enough about the side characters, the MC is kind of a tomboy that’s cold person on the outside but she is kind of easily flustered/girlish.  She’s rlly lovable and a bit too multifaceted for my tastes but it doesn’t rlly affect the story.  ML is a typical arrogant rich boy but emits golden retriever energy.  He is very supportive however he knows his limits bc MC is an independent queen that wants to succeed on her own.  

The novel at the beginning can seem very typical and boring but it gets much better the more u read.   The latter half of the story is more focused on each characters mental health rather than pointless drama.   <<less

As the title suggests, this novel is revolves around divination and tarot cards (forgive me I know nothing about these).  You’ll kind of have to read this with a grain of salt bc this is highly based off the MC  doing divinations and readings about people that turn out accurate.  

This is also a switched at birth story (sry I couldn’t help myself) but it plays a very small role.  MC got swapped with a boy(wow a boi) and they have a close sibling relationship.  <<less

What I like about this story is mostly the MC.  She’s very rational but she still has the family oriented mindset that most people in her era had.  She chose to forgive (mostly) the transgressions that happened to her and made the best of her circumstances.  However this doesn’t mean that she’s a pushover, she’s very unyielding and somewhat stubborn.  

This is one of the few cases where I don’t feel bad for the fake daughter bc she is just an unsolicited problem.  She schemes against MC right off the bat and is honestly quite ungrateful.  She’s the type that will probably break her moms heart later on even tho her mom treats her even better than her biological daughter.  <<less

*Spoilers!!!* Mostly politics and drama but the romance is sweet.  Qin Yining was swapped at birth by her father’s political enemies.  Years later, she was found and brought back.  You’ll definitely feel for her in the beginning.  Her mother doesn’t trust that she’s her biological child and her grandma doesn’t care.  However, the true highlight of this is her relationship with her father.  They are described as the spitting image of each other.  Yining’s personality is almost just almost always calm and charming much like her father.  She rlly does hold up her whole family (some of them she doesn’t like but helps anyway) during times of crisis where her father isn’t there.  Through her wits and efforts, her mom finally trusts her (I still don’t like her cuz she’s so dumb).  ML is likeable to a degree I guess.  He comes from a humble-ish background where he wasn’t taken to his noble father until he grew up. 

Story is mostly politic based: u get the collapse of a country, the building of another country, and so on.  However this is also drama filled: family drama, love drama, and so on.  Personally I do have moods that require stories just like this.  This is definitely one of Volare’s better novels.  <<less

ML is fat for a reason.  Bc of his physique, he was never considered a threat to the other princes so although he was a little mistreated, he didn’t have to worry about people scheming against him.  He truly is…a degenerate in the most basic sense but he does a lot for his fiancé. 

FL was born to a family who’s dynamics are all off.  We get a lot of drama especially from her delusional white lotus mom.  Her dads ending is very ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). 

Anyway I thoroughly enjoyed reading these two’s journey and I especially like how the author was adventurous towards her choice of MLs even in her other books.  <<less

The story revolves around Tang Yunyao from birth to her marriage and a couple of extras about her life after as well as other side characters.  I personally rlly liked the moments she had with her family and I honestly wished the author put more emphasis on her family rather than other side characters.  Yunyao’s personality is shaped from her first life which was very hard on her but she eventually softens bc of her current family.  The middle part of the novel can get slightly confusing bc it explains her origins and souls and stuff but the gist is there.  

…I recommend reading an actual translation of this but it doesn’t look like it’ll update anytime soon so if ur interested, take ur chance with mtl.  <<less
