This is the kind of yandere that I've been craving for SO LONG. The ML is simply just sick in the head (also seems like it's genetic so we can't really blame him that much) LOL. Hands down still the best story I've ever read 'round here (it's biased of course). Long story short I was SO desperate to find a chinese novel where the girl is the dominant one without her being abusive/frustating and the ML that's soft but still masculine and has his own 'strength'. I like how ml and mc feels like standing on equal ground in terms of dynamic (not power) like...idk their interaction feels fresh cause it feels so modern(?) By that I mean no social or gender hierarchy or whatever like some historical novels here is having. They're just like two people in modern time interacting. Mu Sheng kinda a jerk tho (but he's cute in the extras). Some parts of the execution aren't really my taste...but that's subjective and the concept itself is actually quite intriguing. Have you read "I Have the Aura of Overbearing President"? the MC refuses to be yet another cannon fodder villainess and ended up accidentally hijacking the Overbearing CEO aura, and she pushed that as far as she could go.
It's pretty hilarious. Most readers wouldn't be able to guess the male lead within the first 30 chapters, because he's so low-key. There's also the almost shoujo-ai vibes at that early part too
@angelusnix The ML is in essence the organised Pepper Potts to her CEO Tony Stark (not in the tech sense, but in the 'disruptive captain of industry' sense).
I just remembered that there's also "Believe it or Not, I Already Caught You", in which the MC is a country girl who was raised by her daoist master grandfather to become a kickass spiritualist fighting corrupted ghosts etc for money, while the ML is a young master who voluntarily isolated himself from his family because his yin energy (or something) was too strong for normal people and brings bad luck to them.
He's always more tentative than her because he doesn't want to drag her down with him--most spiritualists have warned that he wouldn't live past thirty because of the aforementioned energy issues. She, on the other hand, doesn't give a shit. She's definitely the one doing the chasing.
