Best of the best Kingdom buildings
Novels which are still in MTL (high-readability, guaranteed minimum brain cell mortality) and not yet translated:
- Bulgarian Empire (same author of Holy Roman Empire)
- Holy Roman Empire (60 chapters translated, the rest just go to MTL, high quality MTL is the reason translators didn't bother to translate it in the first place)
- Rise of Rurik (thank you Zurdonx for recommendation)

A very popular novel about an atheist war criminal little girl, not much about Kingdom building, but it's a good parallel of World War I... more>>

Check this novel out. Its kind of like Release That Witch in Ancient China instead. Its not complex, deep or detailed but worth reading. Its not translated though and you have to use Google translate to read it(I'll rate the translation with google as 7/10).
@ms12345 while the MC is compassionate and not into harem, he keeps hoarding people to build power which make his father plan to have all of the hoarded girls included become his child bearers. No worry though, by the time I read he's only 7-8 years old.
As for how it is compare to MGOAG, that depends on what you like the most: personal power or political war game. Rise of Rurik doesn't focus on the former (still mentioned his prowess strongest among his peer and he's a time traveler, and a highly educated one at that), it focuses on grander political game from the revenge/struggle of Northerner tribes to the smaller conflicts between vassals of the realm. Realistic wise, it's 9.2/10, much better than MGOAG which only 7/10 in my opinion.
Very similar to Mediterranean Hegemon? Really? You lied bro..
ROR is a waste kingdom building story... No research at all,too slow and unnecessary development from novel.
@Cindyboy it's your opinion, the novel is perfectly fine. You are simply not used to it. You can only found it enjoyable if you have some knowledge of Europe early medieval history. Simply skipped all of the historical fact and story background would result in the statement you said, which are all untrue aside the fact that there is no research since the MC knew them all from future.
In conclusion, RoR is superior in historical aspect and even the world building. The pace is reasonable (if not too fast for 15 years old rule a whole Dukedom). The MC is Mary Sue but it's acceptable since it's entertaining enough. Overall, good novel, but not recommended for beginner readers.
@Daresan to be honest, the MC of MHAG is more of a Mary Sue than Rurik, while Rurik is just too smart and knowledgable, the former is much closer than the definition of Mary Sue. So I suggest reading it first instead of judging it from my word out of context. Cheers!
@bakaemon hahaha what an idiotic statement, Did you even read Mediterranean hegemon of ancient greece properly? Mc is opportunistic politician through and through and author doesn't spoon feed you with any monologue of mc about describing why he is doing what he is doing. There is not even a single monologue of mc. Though i do admit author makes it pretty smooth for mc.
@Daresan that's a big assumption, which also ignored the fact that I put the said novel on recommendation. And please, don't do the mental gymnastic of "it's not an insult". I do not need apology, nor I need any rationalization of why you said that to me. Let's it be what done is done.
@Daresan my apologies if this conversation turn unpleasant. I believe our slight has gone too far. So, I will excuse myself from further conversation. Also, my apologies for my previous response as I noticed that my initial response could be easily regarded as passive-aggressive, which is not what I had in mind. Have a pleasant day.
Hi, if you don't mind about n*zis, there's red cross and iron germany(I think it's this one but it can be found by others names), the king by new sea moon 2(same author of holy roman empire), bulgarian empire by new sea moon...
I particulary dislike too childish plots or system cheats so I found plenty kingdom building novels but with those...
