This is one of those cases <3 Compared to this author's other work svsss, the story in this one is a great improvement. Or even compared to most novels really, this is top notch.No plot wholes, no shallow " i am evil and just that" villains, interesting side characters, Not predictable plot threads. The main characters are also perfect and very complex aaaa i love them so much. But the ones who read this story have to bear a curse, that is called "insatisfaction". READ - 10/10 this is so long but it was a good journey. I absolutely loved it and i can't believe people say that this is worse than MDZS, or "bland". Now that i've finished this, i can say for sure that is just as good.The mystery-solving element of most MXTX novels is my favorite part, and the cases,revelations and twist were really well written on this one. Also the romance holy shit? it was so good, a lot of build up, cute moments, natural development.... I loved this a lot and i think you should read it; characters and side characters and likeable, and have solid, different personalities (their interactions are super fun). The plot is AMAZING, as i said before, and the romance is also top notch, her writing improved a lot. The story is non - linear ( goes from the present to the past to the present again etc) and this is really hard to pull off, but in this story the transitions and placing of these changes are perfect, you don't feel confused reading it. I admit that there are some minor flaws, but they don't spoil the reading experience for me <<less

I liked this a lot when reading it the first time, something was a bit off but i couldnt put my finger on it, and then i was like aight doesnt matter, i like it anyway. But re reading i think i have a more critical analysis. First of all: the characters are really well written, and consistent. Luo binghe's abandoment issues and how they shaped his personality was really interesting, and his reactions to situations, althought not always the best or right thing to do, made sense with his character. Shen QQ's had a different, but equally well-developed "self". So that, the author got right. Because of this, and her abilities to write complex drama, the conflicts between the main characters didn't feel like they could be solved easily if they had half a brain, it was actually believable and didn't have a right and obvious answer, so actually conflicting. That's why it was so close to being perfect...if she had kept this up, it would have been awesome. But at some point a misunderstanding that actually had grounds was undone; both parties were aware of the other's real feelings, and how they didnt conflict, and yet like they continued fighting in the same way? none of them sat down and was like listen. i think there's been a mixup here, no!! they just kept fighting like before. This, paired with what i thought was a rushed ending, kinda ruined it  for me. I have no problems with couples that only get together at the end, but really in this one it was just ridiculous they only got together in the ending of the last chapter, and they'd been fighting for yearsss. They had to spend more time "redeeming" luo binghe too, bc it's problematic the  way it is now <<less
