transmigration without annoying systems. some reviews berate the mc for being dumb, but i love him, it suits him well. mc is not dumb, he is a very carefree and pretty playful guy at heart, but after character development, he becomes very serious and focused on his work. ml is so incredibly lovable. despite being involved with politics later on, the romance does NOT take a backseat. this novel made me laugh so hard at times and i did have a pretty long sobbing moment too. like many dramas, they have a pretty peaceful domestic arc, look forward to that.... more>>

also giving this novel an a+ for a healthy, respectful relationship unlike most transmigration novels. 

a quick read if you were as passionate as i am, good for laughs and will unexpectedly make you got softhearted enough to cry.

what got me the most was the gong. yes, he's kind of an a**hole, but he's still an interesting character. despite being seemingly very cold, he actually has reasons why he's so messed up. not that it justifies anything he does tho.

the drama is so well done! there are times where i actually got secondhand embarrassment too.

i like this because despite my dislike for useless shous, the shou is quite pitiful and is a victim of politics and his er, unfortunate younger brother.this is for you if you like pseudo-in*est and smut but still want plot and likeable characters. <<less

honestly, i didn't like the ml at first, but that's just me i guess. i feel like the romance was a bit rushed and he did some dub/non-con stuff that caught me off guard. however, ouch. that doesn't mean i didn't begin liking him later! the tragedy tag is enough to speak for itself- this novel can and will make you wail and sob and complain to the heavens why it exists but you love it nonetheless. not gonna lie, i read this once and only once, i don't want to bring myself through this pain again. there's a bit of smut as well.

yoohoo, yet again a pitiful shou mc! listen up guys, i know i'll always say that i hate useless beautiful shous, but there's something about... more>> this mc that makes me go "awww, now ruin him more". dude's just trying to stay alive (or not LOL). it's the fact that he is completely pathetic in the sense that's like- he's trying his best not to embarrass himself but of course says the most face slapping things known to man right in front of the ml. he is also a transmigrator and says some modern terms sometimes, for example, saying that the ml would totally be an internet troll if he existed in modern times.ml is pretty s*um at first (duh). complete tyrant. jealous and overbearing. bullies the mc (as he should). sometimes he gets sweet though (aww). oh, but there's one scene early on, which kind of made me cry (unexpectedly?!). the first time where ml bullies mc a bit too hard (that calligraphy thing arc) and mc actually feels really hurt. his reaction makes ml a bit shocked. i felt satisfied but it also made my heart hurt too..i haven't finished it yet, but so far anything remotely smut-related has been pretty censored. <<less

i got so much second hand embarrassment from this but it's also really cute at the same time???? no like i mean second hand EMBARRASSMENT. disregarding the PLENTIFUL smut scenes, it's actually really hilarious and interesting. the unconventional trope is that mc isn't a young beauty yet ml is still drawn to him which i think is so adorable bc the plot gets really sweet once their relationship is established!! ml destroys property once in a while and bullies mc a bit but he's far from being a total scum. he's an aftercare professional and treats mc so well... more>>

chills down my back in the early chapters when mc smiled behind the emperor's back, damn. mc is literally so badass and my GOSH he's smart and powerful. just his brains and suffering and lives on vengeance. i don't even know who the ml is but mc has my entire heart and i am 100% rooting for him <<less

also the author writes the female characters well & respectfully, love to see it! mc goes lengths to keep the transmigrator from his harem bc of how lustful and pathetic he is <<less
