My flawed ML who loved so unconditionally

The book said, I will take 99 steps towards you and you only need to take the remaining one step. But no need. I will run all one hundred steps and you don't have to do anything, just stand there and wait for me.

I guess with age, our taste turns weirder. I no longer dream of the prince charming on a white horse, but rather, I've set my target on the cold and indifferent villain. So here is the list of my favorite, flawed yet amazing MLs.

This is purely subjective and please follow the list if you have the same weird taste as mine and do tell if you have other recommendations.

The list contains:

Him/her with his/her unrequited love;

Couples who were separated for a very long time and unsure of the other person's feeling, but stayed true and loyal to his woman;

Or an ML who caused misery/grievance to his woman at first but turned st*pidly sweet after the redemption arc.

With that being said, Im into MLs with emotional issues and social barriers so you may not like them at first. I dont like perfect and very good mannered MLs, I like them flawed!

***Sorry. I'm boring so NO Yaoi, Yuri nor harem.

  I actually started shipping them together as early as their Germany days. Though I initially hated the guy but nevertheless, I liked him and their love story. I would like to read it if there's a separate one.

This is a favorite that will have a special place in my heart. So me saying that the story is tragic, prevent you from reading it. This is a great story, and they do have a happy ending.

**Such a strong sunshine, such a depressing and dull city, his smile is the only color in the black and white world. Yes their love is beautiful (esp when they danced under the moonlight with the walls full of bullet holes and soot) but the story is tragic and devastating. I was only looking for something emotional to read, yet this story made me broken for a day. It's true, heroes were remembered but the survivors were forgotten. This is very dark. It showed the darkest and ugliest parts of war. And when Li Zan asked, "what profession in this world can prevent war?", with my fried brain cells I suddenly stop reading and contemplate for a while.**

When war broke out in a foreign country, war correspondent Song Ran was in danger of a bomb during an emergency retreat, and Li Zan, a special bomb disposal soldier, rescued her.

  Hi DemonGodSimp~ this is actually the first time I’ve ever created an account on here (even tho I’ve used this site for years already…), and it’s only sincerely to thank you so much for introducing me to White Olive Tree. I’m quite an avid reader of Jiu Yue Xi’s novels, yet idk how I never discovered this book. And it’s because of this reading list (so many good books!) that I decided to read this. That was two months ago and since then I have not been able to move on. It’s truly a poignant read and idk if I’ll be able to find a novel like this again. However, the only thing I regret is reading this through mtl because I’m sure there’s a lot of meaning lost in translation. Regardless, I thank you so much for your review that sold me into reading this lovely book!

  @cherryna_ you're welcome. i'm glad to have someone be just as broken as I am upon finishing this novel . yeah it gives off a different feeling, other military novels I've read after this, seems so average.
