Like once you’ve pushed him to far getting him back is almost impossible & requires the seme to not just show he’s apologetic but he also has to take accountability for his own actions. The seme is very unlikable but there’s character growth and is made to see how big of a dck he was. You also don’t get a cookie cutter bad guy. Dude was 100% wrong but you can see how his internal weakness led him into being such a douche. I appreciate the juxtaposition between the seemingly strong gong & the seemingly weak shou with self esteem issues, a horrific past and a speech impediment, but you begin to realize the shou was the one with moral strength and convictions while the gong was low key a btch who struggled with societal norms and expectations. Yes it’s dog blood and over the top, but the characters are fleshed out and both show real growth. <<less

Not many of these types of stories even touch on how traumatizing loosing your life and family would be. Suddenly becoming so new person in a new world with no loved ones. That would be pretty fcking horrific for most ppl. The reviews I feel like went a bit overboard on praise for the mental health struggles of the MC and descriptions of that struggle, it’s great especially for this kind of story for sure; it’s just not groundbreaking. But again for this kind of novel is impressive. Def worth reading. A bit of angst but also super heartwarming.  <<less

I’m actually shocked bc I wasn’t in love with their other novels like i am for I’m not human. I’m not human is fluffy and sweet but not in the boring way so many other fluffy sweet novels are. There’s a depth that they don’t have. A sweet angst you occasionally encounter. In I’m not human you have this feeling of melancholy bc you recognize that all the characters in the novel (besides the MC) will be miserable if the MC dies.. He is their motivation and the reason for their existence. They were unaghpy before him bc the OG body he inhabits had died. That’s kinda deep. I just really really appreciate this level and I’m low key suprised a novel as fluffy as this had the depth to pull my emotions into it.  <<less

I really fcking appreciated how love grew & there was legit reasons for it. I love the savage MC & the not quite as savage ML (but still pretty crazy too). I also loved the villains weren’t cookie cutter bad guys who are cartoonishly evil. Like the evil prince, you were given a good back story for how he became the way he was. From his upbringing, to his envy & paranoia, to his suppressed desires he couldn’t admit to. I almost felt sorry for him. He deserved his fate but you could see how miserable his life was. Even the evil queen you could see how someone’s obsession for power could create a monster. The closet to someone cartoonishly evil would be the brother. He was probably the most shallow character of all, but fortunately he’s a minor role. I also appreciated we had a lot of other characters that we get to know. Was this novel perfect, no, there could have been more character development of other char characters, but for a Chinese danmei I’m impressed. Overall a very enjoyable read and I’m sad the extras haven’t been translated. Fingers crossed someone picks up the 25 chapters listed as extras. <<less

It’s really a pretty perfect romance. That coming from someone who isn’t always the biggest fan of het/BG romance. I’m very picky about heroines & Tia is perfect. Like I could go on and on but I’m sure many ppl have said everything in the reviews. The fact I’ve read this twice even with having to hunt down like half the chapters (& those chapters being unedited MTL) & I still read it a 2nd time.  <<less

Why did I start this with only 57 chapters translated?!?! I know why, I keep putting novels in my waiting for more chapters list, only... more>> to come back and read them when they're complete & get bored 5-90 chapters in. My list is to long and hard to keep up with so i decided to try novels that looked good if they had at least 50 chapters. I didn't expect to stumble across this gem of a novel. It's so good & is missing so many things that annoy me in other novels of this genre. Like the ML saying cliche and cringe sht like "you're interesting", and then bam he's a stalker obsessively in love. Or having the same few personality types ML's are given. Like I swear we get cold ML who's only gentle to the MC or a puppy dog ML. With the occasional tr*sh ML who becomes a simp during the redemption arc. I don't hate tropes but they need to be well done, and way too often they're just lazy. So I love the ML and the FL (I'm a sucker for an apathetic MC) & there's actual tension and angst. And not mindless angst that isn't well thought out that's thrown in a lazy attempt to get the reader engaged. (But only 15 yr olds fall for it No shade I fell for it when I was a teenager.) but srsly this novel is so good I'm putting it in my fav list not even halfway translated. I have that much faith in it. Also excellent translation. If you have any reservations throw them away. This is a gem!! (Don't let the shtty cover art throw you off. Like the ML's face is so weird & wtaf is up with the FL's eyes?!) <<less
