This one isn't something I usually would read, but I've been thoroughly enjoying it right now! It's not completed, but I loved the main character's interactions with the others, and it brings a smile to my face seeing the main character become closer to the people around her! It's that heartwarming found family between characters that usually wouldn't interact like that. I will put one warning that this is a gender-bent; I typically avoid gender bends solely because you never know how the MC turns out in stories (when written badly, it can ruin the story IMO), but honestly, the MC here was very refreshing! This is another gender-bend (male to female), and while not my favorite, the way the MC was written wasn't too bad. Okay, I started it and got a decent way through but kind of lost interest, although that's not to say this wasn't good. It simply wasn't my type? I might return back to read this though, because it seems like something I might be interested to read again in the future. Anyways, from what I've read so far, the MC is certainly self-sacrificing (but not in the traditional "noble" way you'd think, and he certainly doesn't think of himself as self-sacrificial—huh there's a theme here...). Mainly read this to kill time—it's not that bad, I know that there's a harem tag (which I usually avoid) but as of chapter 46.2, I didn't see it posing a problem to my enjoyment. The MC uses magic that's useless to everyone, but because he used it so much, he's perfected it to the point where the magic becomes a weapon that can solely be used by him to its full potential. It's interesting to see this in action, and the reactions of the people around him. He also isn't this super strong individual with no weakness—he certainly can still be defeated. This was alright—it was certainly a good time killer but it didn't really have the spark that grabbed my attention. It felt a bit lackluster to me, although I can't pinpoint the exact reason why—this might be interesting to others though, but it just wasn't really my thing. This was absolutely amazing. The MC reminded me of Cale from tr*sh of the Count's family but older and more broken for some reason. Unfortunately, there are not many chapters of this translated and it seems to have been dropped, but I hope someone ends up picking this up because it is absolutely amazing so far! It certainly feels darker than most of the novels on this list. The MC acts like a sunshine heroine to the characters around her in order to protect her family and raise her status in life—it's quite refreshing to hear the thoughts of the MC, the thoughts of the ML and then an outside perspective. I especially enjoy how she's gaining her own protection squad through her acting. 

To top it off, there's self-sacrifice in chapter 37 (I believe). 8.5/10 so far, rating may increase as more chapters are released!

While I certainly don't think this is peak fiction, this novel was a super fun read! I laughed out loud reading this with all the pains the MC has to go through to maintain his edgy chuunibyou character else his companions get suspicious. The misunderstandings in this weren't blood pressure raising like they can be sometimes, but rather amusing as the MC leaps through hurdles to avoid accidentally getting killed by acting OOC. 

I'd give this a 7/10—not peak fiction, not blood pressure raising, but a solid read to go through when you're bored out of your mind!

To be honest, I'm quite surprised I liked this so much, as it's a CN—while I don't have anything against CN, I usually find that I'm not particularly a fan of the writing style of most CN novels I've seen, so I'm surprised that this one suited my taste. I think what made this so interesting is the fact that the MC is purposefully creating misunderstandings about himself in order to survive in a world, but on top of this, the MC is also spurring on these misunderstandings in the "real world"—the MC is a meta character. 

I think what also made this so interesting for me to read was the fact that the MC acts both sly and playful—he doesn't get involved in matters when he can avoid it, and he acts quite free spirited (as both part of his act, but also as part of his character himself)

I'd give this a solid 8.75/10—I can't wait until more chapters are translated—I absolutely need to know what happens next!

This also has a manhwa! I started as a novel reader and then got into the manhwa. One thing I found: the manhwa can sometimes be easier to follow along to than the novel (but perhaps that's because I'm just bad at keeping track of events haha). I loved this novel! I picked it up without many expectations and found that I couldn't put it down—our MC basically takes over a chuunibyou character he created and works to get stronger in a hunter setting. I think his internal reactions in comparison to his cool exterior are so fun to read and the reactions of his companions are also so entertaining. I'll rate this a solid 8/10.
