The plot is perfect, heavy politics and the perfect amount of fantasy, despite having magic in the world the MC doesn’t rely solely on his powers to get whatever he wants, he actually uses his brain. The villains on the other hand are also smart, not a mere decoration but actually strong villains that matches the MC level of smartness which had me tighten my a$$ from excitement. I like how everything is connected, the passing facts that seems useless actually connects to the future plots sometimes coming as a plot twist.
As for the characters, everyone has their own story and everyone is interesting, even side characters AND villains, you get their backstory and more depth in their personality which makes you understand their behavior and goals, doesn’t mean u will sympathy for them though. As for the OG owner of the MC new body, his full story isn’t fully revealed yet, he’s still mysterious which is interesting considering how he was introduced as a mere child with no power and destined to die as a hostage, yet he somehow became one of the most interesting character after the MC with just a few glimpses of his life. As for the MC, he’s calm and collected even in stressful situations that doesn’t work in his favor and I love that, he gives the aura of an EMPEROR that ruled a great empire. His level of intelligence is also terrifying, he went from an illegitimate child that is destined to die as a hostage to a viscount and THE Minister of Magic. Even those in the imperial palace became wary of him.
It’s so underrated, I wish it had more attention. Please give it a shot! Even if u hate political novels I promise u will enjoy this one <33

Hiii omg never thought I would find someone with similar taste, to be honest so far these 4 are my fav and while of course i searched for more novels like this I failed to find any, however, I heard many thing about ‘tr*sh of the count’s family’ so I’m planning to read it after this semester, other than that I unfortunately don’t have any recommendations :(
