gong & shou are children for the first half of the story. in the second half, things and situations tend to repeat itself. but overall, plot is nice. romance is good.

this is written in a way that sets itself different from other danmeis/BLs. it's very plot-focused and the romance is NOT the plot. this is also not a grinding/farming in the apocalypse story. this is purely apocalypse with GUIDEVERSE (bcuz everything and everyone mutates).

if you want to read a zombie apocalypse story that focuses on the apocalypse, this is a good story to read. many side characters are also very likable.

amazing story. this is technically licensed in English, so its possible to buy. Is it worth a total of $40? It's on the line for me. humans do not have powers. if they mutate, they are dead (for the most part). they are no longer human and do not have a human conscious.

MC is a humanoid mushroom driven by his instincts to look for his stolen spore. the ML is a basically military personnel from a group called judges that are in charge of killing human mutations on sight.

the story is very tragic and this apocalypse has this extremely bleak hope for the future. i think the most riveting part of this story is the character development of the MC. as a mushroom, he's very apathetic to everything. but then he meets people, hangs around them, and listens to their stories. he witnesses all their emotions. he finds humans very irrational, but later he realizes that he has those same feelings.

also, because the MC has an unbiased view, he understands the ML. the ML is kind of tragic. he's a good person, but the world they live in is way too bleak. but he's the only person that's willing to make hard decisions.

however, this story does in fact have a HE. it's just so sad to get there. i cried reading this and I'm not ashamed to admit that.

also, the reason for the apocalypse and "cure" for it is very unique. i don't believe its scientifically correct, but if you know a little bit of the topic, it makes sense to think like that.

This is a typical Chinese apocalypse story. The setting with powers awakening and zombies have powers all through nucleus crystals. And then they level up by using powers and absorbing the crystals. This kind of setting. I feel like I've only seen this in Chinese stories, so this is, for me, their specific apocalypse troupe.

This is enjoyable due to a cat, ferret, and (very late story) plant. Other than that, you will probably be frustrated like I was.
