But it’s still a really fun read. I love QT’s bc you get so many different worlds & if you don’t like one, it doesn’t last long. I do wish QT novels didn’t all have the same formula for worlds. It’s fine when it’s a world I really like like apocalypse, but after awhile I wish the author would use their imagination and create totally new worlds that haven’t been done before. Like future interstellar world don’t all have to have mechs & aliens don’t need to all be zerg or beast men. On some level I get it bc for shorter arcs the world building is already done. But unless the author is really good, they can start to feel the same. But overall QWTFOD is a fun read and I’ve read in twice now. <<less

The future part is just background and could have been set in the 90’s or now and would have read the same. But what kept me reading was the reality of the characters, which is rare in Chinese novels. The top wasn’t the caricature of a sociopath who is only kind to his partner. Who knows everything and is always in control. You get to see some insecurity from him. The familes weren’t Percy doting idiots but also weren’t evil villains. They were flawed humans who made mistakes and tried their best. Like the bottom’s dad having the realization that now that his omega son was married he’d lost the chance to spend time with him. Time he’d put off bc he was to busy with work. The alpha’s mom also recognized she’d made mistakes too. That her relationship with her son had been damaged by his actions and also her pushing the marriage, although it worked out. You saw the omega recognize that he’d been lonely after the death of his mother and needed more from his dad and brother, and realized this bc he was getting the love and attn from his husband that he’s needed. This all felt very refreshing. None of it hot to deep but you got enough that the characters felt more real. I doubt I’ll reread this one but I did enjoy it.  <<less

It’s good but a lot more fluffy than I expected. I love a regretful ML & an apathetic MC but I’m a bit eye-rolly when the ML is to much of a simp. Idk I guess my tastes are weird. Like I prefer less overt of simping. More actions less words. Also I know Korean endearments in English don’t translate well but I hate “honey”. I wish they’d use baby or my love. Honey just feels idk lame. Like it’s 1952 or something. Honey is up there with my dear.Did enjoy the adventure part, tho the bad “guy” was very one dimensional. Loved the side characters and the family.Anyways enjoyed the novel. Very low stress read. Also I usually avoid het (or BG) novels that are R18 bc that so often means it takes over the story & tbh I usually hate the way s£x scenes are written in Asian novels.
