I’ve definitely read ones that were more exaggerated, but those seem to take themselves very seriously, and this book does not take itself seriously I enjoyed it, but I would probably read something different with more romance in it if I was going to reread this type of book. I tend to not really like the historical politics type books, so when I do read them, I want more romance. Overall though really not bad I enjoyed it. <<less

Some of it was not necessary. I mean this is not a pretty book. It was definitely gritty. Still didn’t strike me a scary, but this was definitely a violent gritty book with some really disturbing stuff in there as sprinkles to add texture to it I guess. It was a little too brainy for me (as in my IQ is probably equal to the MC’s IQ and I would’ve died on the first day unless somebody carried me ) and not enough romance so it’s on my will not reread list. If this had a bit more romance, though, I probably would reread it. I guess I would equated to thousand autumns. So much stuff going on and not enough romance to make me feel like it’s worth a second read. It was interesting though, so I don’t regret reading it. But, Yeah it’s a tad disturbing. <<less

But overall, while this is a cute book and I don’t regret reading it. I just don’t know if I feel like putting in the effort necessary to re-read this one. It had a very nice detailed plot, but I can get the same thing by reading Mist which is a bit more cohesive with its plot than this book. But it was cool to see in the last quarter of the book the occasional conversation casually discussing Asimov‘s laws of robotics. I almost wanna go read the foundation books again. There amount was cute. It was very slow burn but I still enjoyed it for me. It really was just a very long slow read and that’s mostly why I’m hesitant to put this on the reread list. I may change my mind, but I enjoy other books that give me the same sort of scenarios and feeling that this one did that are quicker reads. I think there were only one or two small loose ends that I would have liked to have seen addressed, but nothing major   <<less

UPDATE: so I had forgotten that I had already read this. I started reading it. It was vaguely familiar and just like underneath it started out really good. It was everything I love. But my God the translation is so bad there are so many name mix ups and pronoun mix ups it’s confusing and then the second to last arc is just misery. And then when they return to reality, it’s even worse. It’s just like they’ve slapped on a bunch of random things and I actually think a lot of it could be translation errors. There’s three different loaded chapters that I’ll say the exact same thing so there’s probably missing stuff not... more>> to mention in a lot of these chapters there’s repeated paragraphs But yeah life lesson for me is go check the ones I didn’t like because for this one maybe the first couple are but like it’s so bad and it’s really because of the end and how horrible this translation is.

ORIGINAL: This had such potential and then it just crashed and burned. the last three chapters created an entirely brand new plot out of nowhere. The few things that got resolved were very sloppily done. It’s possible if the translation was more readable that maybe this book wouldn’t be quite so bad but this was very much an unedited MTL, name mixups, pronoun mixups, complete paragraphs would get duplicated in places. It was horrible. Like the last arc has like killed all of my excitement that I had when I first started reading this. It was so good in the beginning and I was so excited. It really had a lot superficially in common with QWTFOTD, but then the story just got lost. Maybe if this ever got an actual translation that has been edited I would try reading it again, but otherwise it just isn’t that great.  <<less

Made it to chapter 129. It’s a cute slow burn. But the whole book set up certain expectations about the “enemies/bad guys and the MLs personality”. Both of those expectations are now out the window in the last 10 or so chapters as now the ML is a pouty whiny obsessive puppy and instead of a quick turnaround and face slapping we get an out of the blue enemy organization working in the shadows taking forever to resolve (comparatively). It’s ok but I just have no interest in finishing past a vague curiosity of the past lives.  <<less

It doesn’t bother me. Towards the end, though I was forcing myself to finish the extras at that point I was just like, yeah whatever I think if this was not an already established in love couple throughout the entire book I might’ve been more interested in them, but I just really was like yeah whatever.  The system seemed so unnecessary to me. I enjoyed the little twist that existed, but like it really just did seem superfluous overall not bad don’t regret reading it, but I wouldn’t reread. <<less

Oh my God, and the third arc didn’t even start until chapter 74. Including the extras, there’s only 98 chapters. The last chapter of the book is actually chapter 93. I don’t know the first one really is not bad. It drags on for a bit but it’s not bad. I actually enjoyed the second one, but the ending was too rushed and it was too short but like the third one just as bad it’s really bad it ruined the reading experience and I don’t know what else to say about it. I didn’t even read the extras. I might go and look at them, but like I would never reread this. So I guess this is very much a ticket with a grain of salt. Turn off your brain or just read the first arc as a short story. <<less

The sense of déjà vu I had while reading those two arcs was so weird. Arc six also read like two different stories. it changed partway through started off as like a face slapping ABO interstellar and then went into a searching for the truth of MCs mystery family.Arcs one through four all had the matchmaking system, then all of a sudden in arc five and six there are no longer dual original protagonists. There’s only the one person there’s no original story romance. Outside of the last two arcs I actually really liked one through four. And as a standalone arc five I enjoyed, but that was mostly because of the dynamic between the ML and the MC. Arc six is awful. The whole book just goes so far downhill that it’s almost pointless to ever read this. It genuinely feels like the last sections of the story are from a story or that maybe this is something the author started put down for a few years and started again in a totally different frame of mind. And then the ending it just freaking ends there’s no explanation for anything. There are three extras and it’s in the last half of the third extra that you find out what happened and it’s so minimal. I don’t wanna harp on this. I think it’s just because I feel like a perfectly good fluffy novel just got destroyed by the last two arcs. Or honestly, even the last one I don’t have too many issues with the zombie one other than I swear, I’ve read it somewhere else. But that really could be some sort of like MTL copy and paste error from somebody else. Either way I wouldn’t bother rereading that unless it’s just for the first few arts I truly enjoyed those but as a whole this last arc six and then the three extras kind of kill the entire story. <<less
