It's very cute, with a couple of great twists at the end, and the relationship between the MC and her system is absolutely fantastic.... more>>

Shared universe with She Is The Protagonist, and it's very clear that Outrageous was written second because the writing is a lot smoother and tighter. <<less

It takes until about 1/4 - 1/3 in for it to really establish itself as a sequel and not just set in the same universe. MC has recently returned from 13 years as an undercover agent in drug cartels along the Myanmar/China border, given a new identity, and assigned to ML's criminal investigation team where he has been laying low and hiding most of his skills. ML is rather annoyed at having the Municipal Bureau parachute someone into his team, and thinks MC is trying to use it as a stepping stone for promotion. Then, of course, a series of cases come up that forces MC to actually showcase his abilities, ML finds out who he was (and goes from being annoyed to falling in love), and brings both of their histories to rapidly catch up with them. Really enjoyed it, Huai Shang is probably second only to priest in terms of these kinds of complex cop danmei plots. <<less

Much to his surprise, his soul doesn't dissipate when he dies, but instead floats around until he manages to possess a divine tree and create a new body out of that, at which point he goes and joins a righteous sect to lay low while he rebuilds his power so he can go look for his kitten. Finding his kitten proves much easier than he imagined, as it turns out that in the past 300 years the kitten has cultivated into a human form and is now the MC's shizun. The dynamic is hilarious - MC is a complete and utter cat s*ave, and the ML is a perfect haughty cat even when he's in human form. The supporting characters are also amazing. <<less

To which my response was "this sounds amazing, I have to read it!". Story is that over the past 3 - 4 years, people had been pulled into an infinite flow world and forced to compete in 'playfields' as they progressed thrugh levels. The belief was that if anyone who managed to clear the tenth level got to go home. Then one day, the infinite flow world collapsed, and everyone who'd managed to survive so far was returned to the real world - along with the powers they'd gained in the infinite flow world. The MC was living a perfectly ordinary life when he comes to various organisations' attention when they realise that he knows all three of the S-rank survivors, who are, respectively, his ex-boyfriend, his neighbour, and his cousin. Then the playfields start showing up in the real world, and the MC keeps having the horribly bad luck of falling into them. I quite liked it, and the plot twists were very interesting. <<less

This backfires on him spectacularly when the author replies "got it" and starts torturing and blackening the protagonist until he goes completely evil and destroys the world. Things go from bad to worse for the MC when the printed version of the novel he ordered turns out to be an explicit doujinshi instead, and it then transmigrates him into the world of the novel - right at the point when the protagonist had decided to embrace revenge and being evil. MC decides he must stick by the protagonist's side, give him unwavering loyalty and affection, and thus turn him away from being an evil stallion protagonist back to being a sweet stallion protagonist. Instead, he succeeds in turning him into a yandere non-stallion protagonist. Very enjoyable story, and an interesting take on transmigration. <<less

Read. 4.75 stars. Holy sh*t was this a wild ride. I LOVED it, but I do not recommend this novel if you have triggers, it is full of dogblood scenes and extremely s*um characters doing horrible things. MC was a s*um gong capture target for transmigrators to his world. After the 100th transmigrator fails to capture him, the main system decides to make him a transmigrator instead, and sends him off to capture extremely scummy gongs in other worlds. He does this by step-by-step leading them into carrying out their darkest schemes and desires on him while manipulating them into falling in love with him. Once their favourability reaches a certain point, he turns the... more>> tables on them by putting them through emotional ab*se that makes them suffer extreme regret, before killing himself once he's captured them in order to make sure the lesson sticks. MC is thoroughly enjoying himself the entire time, and his poor little innocent system (whom he calls 'Baby') really doesn't know how to respond to this.

I knew from early author notes that the s*um gong capture targets of each world were actually the same person, who was the ML, and that it was endgame MC x ML HE. But as we went through world after world of the ML being the scummiest of s*um and the horrendous sh*t he did to the MC in each world (especially the penultimate world, holy sh*t was that a dark one), I was beginning to really wonder just how the hell the author was going to pull off a HE when there was no way someone capable of that kind of sh*t deserved redemption and a HE in any way at all. Then we got to the last world, where almost everything I thought I knew about what was going on got completely upended. I loved it, and the promised HE was both fitting and satisfying. <<less
