The horror tag is extremely appropriate and well deserved. I love MC. He has so many nuances and love yet he’s not without fear or doubts. Baby and ML being the same species was surprising. Even more with how nonchalant and blasé ML is when he leaves the group to survive on their own. Both sides prove that they’re fine on their own and together. Probably my favorite horror/romance novel.  <<less

One word of caution it can get very depressing and repetitive from all characters. They don’t ever let the past go.  <<less

There’s several aspects I admire from this novel: 1) the MC and biological family had insecurities and trauma that didn’t suddenly go away. Especially after MC was reborn, his environment being hostile and becoming people pleasing, insecure and low self esteem is natural. 2) The entire family reads as a bit neurodiverse and that’s encouraged and loved. It’s wonderful to see subtle representation even without stating so. They’re a constant in the entire story. Some side characters get a returning cameo as well even though none of them are fully developed. 3) I appreciated there were a lot of setbacks and that it wasn’t straight path to stardom. 4) they actually lived out quite many... more>> decades together until their story finishes. It’s satisfying to finally see an ending of their long years together.

I do have some concerns overall. It’s a bias against power imbalance in the relationship and they never lose the teacher/student. A lot of the conflict was too easily solved because ML was too CEO vibe. The antagonist was never effective or a real threat. If you took the MC and changed the gender to a girl; there would be no difference at all. There’s a lot of hints that felt like the MC is a female self insert. It felt like a celeb fantasy that the author slapped on BL.

A warm hearted novel of familial love and miracles. Slap the two faced family members that dare to ab*se others! Live better than your rivals!... more>> Love the stinky uncle! While you can guess where the plot is going, I enjoy the process. A husband who is not qualified chases his wife and son and learns to be a better family man. The grandparents, uncles and cousins come back into their lives more than once. I love, either good or bad, family doesn’t disappear so easily. Romance is slow burn but they don’t forget about Xiao Feng. All the characters frequently show up.  <<less

Nothing bad ever happens to her that ever genuinely set her back; I can see why her cannon fodder sister resents FL. It’s overall not god awful but it’s just not that interesting after a while.  <<less
