LMAO. The plot of the novel was incredibly brilliant and creative so I had high expectations for an upcoming plot twist, just to unfortunately be rushed in the ending. Although it's a HE, the ML barely pursued his possessiveness over the MC, so I thought the final Arc was for the ML to make-up for the lost time and trap MC forever in the ████. (Censored BUT I'M SO SAD FOR THE WASTED POTENTIAL) <<less

- 'Possessing The Obsessive Maniac’s Cotton Doll' is based on the novel Yul had read called Red Prison. Although the original novel was extremely cliché like any KR RoFans, it ended with a bittersweet ending due to the ML dying with that said, the actual novel is also cliché but lighthearted read, even Yul acknowledges that throughout the story, so beware. Nevertheless, the cute and childish MC gets pampered by the ML and everyone else~  <<less

- Despite the title and summary of the novel is perceived as cute and lighthearted at first, it turns out to be a façade, the story surprisingly has a world-building and plot that is actually easy to follow if you read enough Taoism/Daoism. The author also did a good job building the relationship between the MC and ML in every chapter while the action part of the story took place at the same time. But most importantly, I love the couple in the story who were so doting and cherish each other in an unhealthy amount since the beginning that becomes unspoken amongst everyone around them Hahahaha, it's so funny to read about it. <<less

- This novel may not be my favorite, but everything about it will leave you trails of its legacy. Despite being a transmigration reverse harem-esque novel, I love how the author went in-depth and fleshed out most side characters rather than being a mere hindrance or booster for plot reasons. Most importantly, the MC and ML stories were just the epitome of tragedy, even though they already had everything that everyone wished for, but depression will always remain impartial no matter who you are which makes it incredibly difficult to live for nothing. Somehow, faith managed to get them to be at the right place and time, and fall in love.

- I can't help but feel guilty that I'm not reviewing this novel on its own (iykyk). I genuinely love novels with romance dynamics like this story (See the last 2 previous reviews). But there's no way this novel didn't have an inspiration behind it.

- Anyway, this novel was surprisingly an easy read and straightforward despite being a Xianxia novel which often has a lot of terms to remember, and the pacing/arcs went smoothly and are considerably reasonable even though the story was short too. I admire how the MC took another chance in life and found happiness with the ML and others, and I applaud how the ML maintained his patience just to keep the MC space (Definitely dude was not losing it) HAHAHAH- I'm also grateful that the author added a backstory to most of the major characters (Except for the ML because HIS backstory is basically the OG novel) despite, once again, a being short novel. It's especially surprising how the author did not shy away from dedicating a chapter regarding the OG!MC backstory despite being black-bellied with no return instead of simply being mentioned by the MC's thoughts over again and again. <<less
