Little Hamster, “Daddy daddy, I have food! All of it is yours! Even me!!!”

WuYi (May 1) is a little hamster nicknamed ChòuChòu (Stinky). He has a very handsome and charismatic daddy owner and he lived every day happily without worries.

But then suddenly, one day a zombie crisis emerged on earth and the world descended into the dangerous apocalyptic era. However, along with the appearance of zombies, humans, animals, and plants alike also awakened abilities for the first time.

The little hamster fell asleep and woke up to find that he had become the same type of two-legged creature like his daddy and his original small two cheeks for food storage had become extremely huge!

The little hamster rolled about with joy. The first thing he wanted to do was tell his daddy.

After braving endless trials, climbing mountains and conquering seas, the little hamster finally found his daddy under mortal danger. Nie Xiao was then saved from the jaws of a third-grade zombie.

“Daddy, baby found you at last!”

Nie Xiao was completely flabbergasted; “…” What’s going on, xidangpa??? (xidangpa:happy to be a father = mainly used to ridicule the situation in which a man finally catches up with the goddess, but the goddess is pregnant with someone else’s child. In desperation, the man has to take over.)

Everyone from the base started to calculate with their fingers: Holy shit! Sure enough, our Boss’ talent was already abnormal from when he was seven, he already has a child this big!

(3.2 / 5) Honestly I'm surprised by how I managed to read this much..

Now don't get me wrong, I liked the story in the beginning. It was everything I expected in this story. But as it went on, it became messier and slightly more confusing. First of all, let's start with the things I've liked so far in this novel:

    • It's a cute, fluffy, and lighthearted novel where barely anything goes wrong.
    • The interaction between the characters are cute
    • The side couples + side characters are also great
    • I liked that the MC and ML are both powerful and MC doesn't need to be saved by ML.
Now for the dislikes (WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS) :

    • MC and ML have a father & son relationship ("daddy" for the gong and "baby" for the shou). I didn't mind it at first because; 1. They haven't established a (love) relationship yet 2. It is hard to change how you call someone when you're already use to it and 3. (As a former hamster owner) why wouldn't you treat your pet as your own child? But as it went on, I got more and more uncomfortable and started cringing, HARD. They've already established a relationship at around chapter 50ish but they still somehow call eachother "daddy" & "baby"..? The side characters also didn't mind this behavior which I found.. quite strange...
    • Speaking of side characters, some of the side couples' relationship felt forced. A few examples I can list when I think about it are: Wu Wenyu (?) x that hammer guy, Bai Mei x that one soldier, and merman x Jiang Qui (?). Like HUH?? I felt that I missed some of the developments of the first couple while as the rest... it's just love at first sight.
    • If you expect any character developmen- don't. Just don't.
    • As the story went on, it suddenly changed? It wasn't very apocalyptic as before and now it's full of interstellar / intergalactic stuff. Idk... not sure what happened. Me personally, I wanted to read a short apocalyptic BL novel. So the change of setting wasn't really my cup of tea.
    • Me, personally, I found that the way this story was formatted is similar to the random stories I made up as a kid. MC is super cute, but super duper strong, everyone's nice except for like a few villains, one of the side kick of the villain realizes what they're doing is bad, so they get a bad redemption arc, and so on. Super cliche.
All in all, it isn't something that I truly enjoyed reading.

im actually not yet done, so theres a posibility that I may place another star or maybe lessen it.

all I could say is: fluff. The MC is as they said, a naive but overpowered hamster, while the ML is the usual gong who is actually powerful but soft towards his lover.

if you're planning to read this because of the apocalypse, I suggest u do not. I aint tryin to stop u to read but I am advising u to lessen ur expectations towards this one. It's not bad. Really.

issues I... more>> found is:

  • there's absolutely no character development between the main characters but hey the side characters are good, I especially like the zombie king.
  • theres actions, yes, but as the story continues I felt that it became a little boring? Maybe it's because it became similar with most of the ones that I have already read. BUT U CAN TRY THIS ONE IF YOU'RE NEW TO APOCALYPSE !!
  • i also do not feel the differences between the characters most of the time.
  • the plot isn't also that well written but if u summarize the whole story, you'll see that it was actually good, it's unique I guess? I just felt that the author didn't manage to portrayed it very well.
anyways!! As most of the reviews said, it definitely is one of the best if you'll categorize it in the most relaxing novels out there. I still enjoyed it but just felt it was lacking so I am holding it off atm. <<less

... really disappointed.

Was here for the meng but it just eventually became gross and cringy.

There was so much potential since the author began introducing these new characters and interesting storylines but I guess the author didn't know what to do with them and just united them with the singular bland and predictable storyline that was already losing it's hold on me.

The daddy-son relationship should have been a plot-element to exploit for humor and character development but the author literally ran with and kept it as is while immediately adding a... more>> lover-tag onto it as well 🤢. MC is quite literally at the mental-age of a toddler and the ML is just like "yep, imma marry my baby"; it's just giving major in*est and pe*ophilic vibes. MC literally calls his man "daddy" in the literal sense all the WHOLE F*CKING time. I kept with since I thought MC would mature from toddler to at least a young adult when he regained his memories but MOTHERF*CKER STAYED THE EXACT SAME 🔥💀🔥. I'm done, hell nah.

MC is POORLY written, plot is extremely predictable and simple while at the same time pulling crap out of its ass, characters underdeveloped, in*est and pe*o vibes rampant af. It's not worth it to waste my time reading the rest of this series even if I only have 30 chapters left. <<less

I went into this novel expecting all the fluff and nonsense, but was completely thrown off by

the change in setting! It went from zombie apocalypse to aliens/interstellar with a hefty dose of magical races (mermaids, vampires), who are also aliens!

It was a bit too off-putting and I struggled to finish, mainly because I couldn't maintain my initial level of interest due to the change.

Plot:

Not bad! Just not why I'm looking for rn. This novel is set in a Zombie Apocalypse setting. However, there seems to be a little bit of extra shenanigans going on behind the scenes. The main character WuYi, is a golden hamster! He was spoiled by his 'Daddy' (ML), who is one of the richest mercenaries in China. Anyway, this story starts a couple of days before the apocalypse. MC wakes up several abilities during the apocalypose. One of which is a dual-space ability and the other a shifting ability... more>> that allows him to turn into a human. ML is also a dual-ability user!

Minor Spoilers:

The two are separated before the start of the apocalypse. So the first arc is spent at m them gathering forces to make their way back to each other. The story has a very lighthearted, whimsical feel to it. Made even more evident by the innocent/oblivious MC (very much a Gary Stue) and the stoic and powerful ML. It's more focused on political intrigue than actual survival. Or... maybe community building is the better description?

For now, my rating for this is under 3/5. 2.5 at most? It's pretty cute, but the more I read it, the more I realized that it just wasn't my type of story??? Or not my type rn anyway. It's very fluffy and feel-good. Feels almost like a kids superhero movie. Where the good is good and bad is bad?? And everyone is righteous and desiring a better world. Very different feel from the apocalypse stories I've gotten used to. So! I'll come back and given it another try later. <<less

Had an interesting concept and start but author sadly unable to carry it out fully.

Very much another one of those apocalypse-ability-user type stories, except the MC is so OP that there weren't any ups or downs, making it a very boring story overall.

I guess if you just want to read about fluff, this is ok?

Also be warned about the constant daddy this, baby that. Blech.

Many thanks to the translators for their hard work completing the novel.

The only thing I enjoyed about this was the fluff. Which was great.

But the problem is that the author doesn't focus on it and puts in a lot of other elements that wasnt executed as well.

It got boring.

Here is a relaxing novel, a super cute MC, super OP as well. Hope of the world kind of OP HAHAHA-

The fluff was really sweet, good things happens a lot and only a little bit of suspense, exciting enough. ML is the serious strong types thats indulgent with his Baby. The side character development is also super great., growth ya know. It's nice REALLY but I can only give 3.5 or 4 cause of personal preference: *below are spoilers, you were warned*

  1. After MC regain his memories and know his great identity, he is still bubbly and naive... Hehe, I was hoping some changes in his personality cause COME ON YOU ARE A ROYAL, be more dignified huhuhu. But you know cute is ok too..I guess people need this cute hope more in the apocalypse.
  2. I personally like to read described appearances but they don't describe anything much only his cute hamster form. Thats ok too.
  3. Lastly, this is a novel where my fav character is not MC or ML, ITS BAI MEI & HIS BF AND ALSO MA BOI GENERAL, UNCLE MOYAN OF THE NEMO ROYAL CLAN. Peace.
Like this novel, read to relax yo~

I dropped it. I only read until MC found his "father" which I think is the ml...

It was getting weirder and more cringy and boring as I read so I dropped it.

The MC and ML are op as hell. I actually don't really care about that. I read the novel because I expected the characters to be op. I was hoping to read life in the apocalypse kind of novel.

MC acts super cutesy. And it's not the actual cute kind but the cringy cute. He also has a mind of a kid so... well it's at the last part where I last read. Maybe he matures and character development? But I read the other reviews and its really disappointing.

ML is op. Thats all I have on him cause yeah I didnt finish it.

The side characters' attitude towards MC and ML are so weird. Like how they easily accepted that mc's a hamster? And they all think of him as cute even at his human form? Which is like a teenager? But idk. They treat him like a kid and he is mentally like a kid so I guess there's actually no problem? I still think it's weird I don't know why.

The novel is too fast paced for me. I usually read slow development novels that's up to 100 or more chapters so this is really fast paced for me.

It's mc's dialogues and monologues that makes me cringe af. Like calling himself "baby" and calling ML "daddy". Idk man although I'm not into these kind of stuff, I don't usually care about these but when MC does it... it makes me cringe so much my face distorted.

It was so s*upid that my brain kinda started to rot.. so to save myself and my brain I dropped it. <<less

It's cute which is kind weird for a zombie story but still good.

Here are some words I'd use to describe this story: Adorable, Cute, Fluffy and maybe a little bit Dark since it is a zombie story after all.

I don't know if it will continue with the 'fluffyness' but for now I am enjoying reading this story.

When I see the reviews before I decided not to read bcs this seems like a full of fluff story.

Still agree that this is a sweet story. Chara dev... Seems like no development, bcs the author made it as a matter of fact that the MC should be like that. Sweet & caring.

But, MC has so many good point. He can sacrifice himself if it needed. But after all that he can be as sweet as before.

Turns out I love this novel. Why don't I read it sooner. (⁠T⁠T⁠)

This is a really good book if you’re looking for a lighthearted (and extremely fluffy) story set in an apocalyptic world. I started reading it right after finishing a heart-wrenching novel and it was exactly what I needed to recover from my battle wounds.

That said, if you’re looking for an intrinsic plot-focused storyline, this probably isn’t the right one for you. As someone who’s obsessed with apocalyptic settings - and devours every piece of media that tackles it - I have to say that the concept is quite simplistic. Although... more>> the author does insert their own little twists to it - which are really interesting - it might come across as lacking if you’ve consumed a lot of this type of media (specially because it has some incongruities which do become obvious quite early on).

Nevertheless, as someone who does exactly that, this didn’t bother me in the slightest and I was quite delighted to be able to sit back and enjoy the main characters’ hilarious interactions - most of the time coming as a consequence of the MC’s ingenuity.

Although I’ve seen some reviewers say it was cringe, I personally don’t think this is the cringest novel I’ve read and nothing was particularly embarrassing about it. If I had to point anything out about this book it would be the fact that everything always works out in the MC’s favor, some times a bit too much. This, however, is clearly intentional, as the characters often joke about how lucky he is.

Do give it a try if you’re looking for a fluffy romance that can make you giggle and doesn’t take itself too seriously. <<less

Ignore those who complained about the Baby/Daddy thing. It's just a lost in translation kind of a deal. The baby in the text doesn't means "child". In the original Chinese text, the word used was "baobei" which translate to "Baby, treasure, precious". It's a common pet name for lovers. Same with Daddy, it's not the word for dad but the other ones used for "Sugar-daddy". If you read some entertainment/celebrities novels, this word "Daddy" is mentioned some times. It means powerful backer, golden thigh, daddy domineering CEO, NOT BIOLOGICAL FATHER!

Otherwise,... more>> the novel is just fluff lol. Usually it's pet cats, bunnies, or foxes, this time, you just get a hamster instead. <<less

I can understand why some people would rate it low because of how shou calls the seme but once you've overcome that I think you will come to like this story.

This novel just ticks all of my boxes when it comes to reading fluffy novels!! And can I just say that I LOVE ALL THE COUPLES HERE!! THERE ARE TOO MANY SIDE CPs that the amount of dog food will surely satisfy you!!

I recommend this novel if u like fluffy novels. Just tolerate how the main co call each other... more>> and you're good 🤗 <<less

It was cute, fluffy, and really boring. The first arc of them reuniting was very interesting and kept me hooked, but everything after was meh.

The romance was bad and random. They get together just all of a sudden and it feels a little bit morally iffy. I'm okay with morally iffy in stories usually, but this was not my cup of tea.

After the MC regains his memories I was looking forward to some character growth, but he stays the same super niave, overly cutesy hamster, nothing like a 19 year... more>> old or even a 15 year old (the age he was lost). The niave, cutesy character was fun at the beginning, but the author over used it. I'm not saying he had to become super mature, but at least stop calling the ML daddy and himself baby. It started to get really cringy. Liked the MC at the beginning, but he slowly becomes annoying.

ML is there... not much too him. Just there to be OP and pamper MC. Wanted more from his character.

I skimmed the rest hence why I put complete-ish. I just wanted to see what happened to the bad guy.

There are many side pairs, most were meh, I did like the one minor side character going from greesy idiot to a good guy, would have liked more on him.

The one part I really appreciated, is how the author viewed Earth as a whole, it's rare to find Chinese authors that don't just make China number 1 and villianize the rest of the world, I much rather the everyone be friends approach. This is an exception from the extra

Glad to finally finish this. I liked the premise more than the story, so I was skimming it by the end. I like fluff and all, but every time there was a cute scene, it felt like we had to interview everyone in the vicinity for their specific response. It's cute enough without having to be told constantly that it's cute.

Say it was bad but not, say it was good but they were lacking in many way, first.. I do not recommended you to read an explicit comment if u enjoy 20 chapters or more, just enjoy it.. Second.. Turn off your IQ and morals norm or lower it a bit to enjoy this novel. If you like something full of fluffy, simple, OP MC and non spicy novel this is for you

It's fluffy and great novel to pass time.

I like the idea of how the novel goes but halfway through the novel, I began to feel bored. It started at time when the merman appeared.

Maybe the reason why I suddenly felt uninterested is because I'm reading this type of novel lately and it's time to change genre. But anyway, it's great to read if you don't have anything to read.
