“Infinite Abilities Academy”

On his first day at Infinite Abilities Academy, Class F freshman Su Bei awakened a new ability. It was only then that he realized their world was actually a manga. And the protagonist of this manga was his classmate Jiang Tianming.

But that’s not the main point. The main point is that in the next chapter of the manga, he, Su Bei, is destined to die tragically in the restroom! This event would kick off the protagonist’s first challenge at the ability academy.

Su Bei: …

The only good news is that this chapter of the manga hasn’t been published yet. He can alter the course of the story and save himself from a cannon fodder’s fate through his actions.

As everyone knows, becoming friends with the protagonist doesn’t guarantee escape from plot-induced death, but becoming the protagonist’s enemy will certainly result in defeat at the protagonist’s hands.

Under the blazing sunlight, the golden-haired boy smiled recklessly, yet there was a hint of solemnity in his purple eyes: “Saluting you on behalf of fate, the unluckiest of the unlucky in this generation~”

I have always been a fan of misunderstanding trope in shounen LN and manga and this is the trope done RIGHT. There are any too many of them (trust me, I'm a veteran in this trope) where the MC is annoying or the side characters being dumbed down to make MC look smart, the storyline becoming repetitive or simply tapering off with nothing more to offer at 70th chapter mark.

But this one has my heart. Su Bei is a MC that moves like a real character would in that situation.... more>> There are even times he deems it too dangerous to gamble and stays away from the chaos. He understands that he needs to curate his appearances to the minimum possible so that he never loses the mystery factor for the forum dwellers. It truly captures his tightrope act.

I even like the OG!MC. He embodies the typical shounen protagonist character but somehow doesn't come off as annoying.

Anyways, what I'm trying to say is, I 20/10 recommend this to those who enjoy this trope 👍🏻 <<less

I love this so much! Su being the protagonist is amazing he is like the mysterious behind the scenes boss, and if you like this kind of stuff then you'll really like this too.

Other characters are great too they have there own moments the reactions the readers give in this area also relatable.

This is a good one give it a try guys.

I love this series! At first you may think it's some sort of generic protagonist taking all the fame for himself, but it's not! Su Bei stays in the back, acting as the mysterious mastermind character never stepping out of his portrayed character! I also love the manga comments, it got my acting like I'm one of them.

This is the first novel I've read with this premise and I think it's great.

The writing of the "comic world" is what you would expect of a generic shonen manga but the "hook" is in the execution of the idea where there is a character in the comic world that's growing stronger by influencing the readers of the comics in the "real world"

I'm not really good with words but I give this 10/10 for the great story and amazing translation. I can never wait for the next chapter to come.

5/5 Stars

The premise is highly intriguing, and the author executes it very well. The idea of a manga character becoming aware of his world being a manga and the inevitable end of both him and it if he doesn't agree to work towards saving it is a fantastic hook to draw you in, and the story that follows isn't disappointing in the slightest either.

The author has a way of writing that really takes full advantage of the written format, his words take full advantage of his readers imagination and make... more>> breathtaking scenes seemingly come to life in a way that most artists would struggle to match.

Su Bei is an incredibly refreshing character, with his wit, humor, and carefree attitude in spite of the stakes that he constantly has to deal with, and the rest of the cast also have excellent personalities and interact with Su Bei in fun and interesting ways.

The power system is simple but well utilized, an excellent match for the story it's used in. The superpowers the author comes up with are interesting and used in clever ways by the characters that possess them. Su Bei's power is exceptionally interesting, and I can't wait to see how the author/Su Bei develops it in the future.

Overall, this is one of the best stories I've read, one well worth the time spent to read it. <<less

At the moment the rate I give this novel is 5/5!

Smart protagonist and every characters seems well thought of. The author doesn't cheat when narrating and detailing the thoughts with different pov.

When I say he doesn't cheat, I mean that the mechanic for the development

the story is interesting and it makes you curious about all the characters hidden story. They're likeable, cute, funny and them building their friendship is enjoyable to read :)

This is fun to read, I hope for more novels like this one!

4.5 stars.

A very nice light story.

I'm surprised I enjoyed this as much as I did.

... more>> Usually, having a story in about a character in a novel while aware that the author controls it and all that makes the whole story lack weight and it becomes shallow.

However this story is different, you just come to ignore that author and focus more on the story itself and the dynamics of MC interactions and tactics.

MC is very entertaining. He is smart, cunning, understands what to do to achieve better results for himself, and most importantly his personality is very likable.

Characters are unique and they grow on you.

Worldbuilding still needs more time, currently it's still very early in the story timeline.

The only problem I noticed is the pace, but it's a minor problem.

The pace at the start (first arc) is nice, it's neither fact nor slow, just perfect, but once the second arc came along, it just became very slow, the author focused on detailing inconsequential parts. While these parts help us connect more with the characters and the story, spending more than 30 chapters on less than a week of the story timeline inside the novel is just too much, especially when this is just the beginning of the novel, and it covers a test at the start of the school year, so you get my point.

Overall, very enjoyable, I will let it accumulate a few hundred chapters then come back. <<less

It's fun, uniquely written and refreshing. The characters are brilliant without without clinche nor forced. It felt natural. There are some inconsistency and unrealistic points, but it does not ruin the reading experience at all.

I'm really picky when it comes to novels, but this novel just took me.

It was boring at first but then it slowly got better and better and before I knew it I had read a hundred chapters in one sitting. I won't say much, because from all the other amazing reviews, you can see that it is a FIRE novel.

There is just one problem, I don't know a website that goes past 127 chapters, I've been searching and I don't know how to use the jjwxc website, I'm genuinely stuck.

I'll start by saying, it's a fun read if your into the genre. If you don't like this particular type if misunderstanding comedy then you probably won't like it, I however love this genre. It does have a few weak spots,

For example his total non reaction to learning his entire past is now malleable? Like he can change it whenever? I think being a little freaked out about that is normal.

lso due too the previously mentioned malleable past, MC became the one who granted the one of the most powerful ability users an ability (Bloodlines or whatever). That guy is the principal of the school he has a kid (Wu jin) whos in mc's class. They say bloodlines is passed down through generations but Wu jin was already born when the principal got the power? He hadn't awakened his powers yet but still? Huh? What? How? What kind of blood line ability is it if you only get it when your kid is already 6 years old?

Thats all the complaints I can think of off the top of my head, and despite calling them complaints I don't actually mind them so much? If I think to hard about it I get a bit confused but im also not even halfway through yet. For all I know the author will explain away every weak part I could think of in the next chapter. And even if they don't it's a fictional novel I'm reading for fun. I can look past the dents and scratches bc the rest of it is fun.

The translation team I'm reading (fenrir realm) is doing a bang up job, a few parts where the pronouns are a bit iffy but thats to be expected when translating into English. <<less

MC Su Bei is a mob character who was destined to die in a shounen manga. A smart and cunning MC, weak to strong ability growth.

How he improve his ability

Spoiler

He cast foreshadowing (say things) in scenes that he thinks would make it to the manga chapter that is published. The readers of that manga would then speculate and come to believe how his ability works which will then upgrade mc's ability in the next manga chapter update. If the readers speculate in the wrong direction, he would use his 'prophet' account in the 3d world to guide them.

[collapse]

The world MC is in is a tropey shounen manga with plot armored protagonists, typical (small) villains (with low IQs only when there is the protagonists), (main) villain coming in batches, cringeworthy dialogues, power-up arcs of protagonist etc. The manga world itself is like MHA with its abilities but the shounen trope world is like Pokemon Adventurea (the manga)

There is a sense of dissonance between MC and the rest because he knows its a manga world. And this, some readers in 3d world will sense.

Pros:

    • Smart MC
    • Fleshed out characters
    • Story
    • Mc's scene are always interesting
    • Unique abilities and alternative use of abilities
Cons:

    • Repetitive for each manga update. I'd prefer the author explain some highlights of the protagonist even when MC is not there so we don't have a repeat of some scenes.
    • Not recommended for those who search for action in a story. The author wrote many fight scenes without it being interesting (though this could also be a trope as in protagonists always winning)
