This novel is so F*cking Good, the Character, The Development, The Plot, even The Cliche is well written, and the pace of the novel itself is so neat that you wanted to read more every chapter.

Spoiler

I read all of the MTL, and the story is getting good, the character, the interaction and How the real feeling of the MC getting potrayed is so satisfying.

Great, this is the only word I can say; this LN/WN is really worth your time. The story is neither blend (which you may drop after a little or some time later) nor it’s like a roller coaster (which gives you sweet and sour taste), It’s rather well what can I say hmmm interesting. The plot line in itself is good and the intersection, links and dialogues between each characters and this nice world building all takes it to another level. And of course all of it doesn’t matter much... more>> if our MC turns out to be a ret*rd but no the Author made out Protagonist (just like in Novel’s Extra no no he made ‘him’ even better in this one) a legit ‘badass’.

P.S. Thank you Author-nim to again come up with a great work. <<less

This is a fun novel where the MC ends up as a mid level villain in his game. He's much more logical and reasonable than the original villain, but the original villains mannerisms and attachments are still in his body leading to multiple mis-understandings. The original villain had some pretty serious limitations that the MC can mitigate due to being better/less of a douche. Still kind of a douche, though, in a fun way!

Overall it's a well worn setting but really well done. The writing is tight, the tone is... more>> on the more 'grounded' side but there is a decent amount of humor and action.

I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

It is a bit more serious than 'The Novel's Villain' that is also being translated on this site. I'd check that out too if you like this. <<less

Great start. Scenes are fragmented sometimes which is offputting. By 87, nothing much is revealed of the end which is supposed to take place after 5 years. There are scarlet born and Alter and demons are enemy of all. Only Alter’s purpose are revealed. Scarletborns are ostracised and hunted for having demon essence? I forgot. There’s a lot to be revealed and I need a break, read some spoilers which makes me not want to pick up from here.

Given how these kinda transmigration troupe goes, well 'typically', I was expecting it to be something where I would need to shut off the logical part of my mind. And to no one's surprise, I did have to do it, partially.

As for why I said 'partially' is because this story had quite the way to use the plot line I would typically hate or be not interested to it's advantage, fully utilizing angst and dog blood misunderstandings to fully make the reader immersive.

Yea, there were too much female characters around... more>> compared to male ones, it's was kinda annoying. And some characters were were annoying and frustrating to the point of death (Ifrin and julie). But surprisingly, if you guys have a pair of eyes and a brain that works, you can see the characters to be really human. Very lifelike. All have a personality they have developed influenced by their surroundings which makes their action to have some sense. There is no incoherent action made by any character which conflicts with their way of thinking and beliefs.

And just now I noticed there was a harem tag lol.

The end was beautifully portrayed. It didn't feel rushed or weak. It was just the right amount. <<less

This story is a fun read until a certain point. I would say the story starts falling off around chapter 110~ with something like a forced development. The earlier part of the story feels like a different story than the latter half.

Spoiler

The regression feels forced, to set the motion of tragedy that didn't need to be tragic. Sure there is an explanation why she can regress but it is weak, just like the reason why she has an unbiased hatred for an entire race.

[collapse]

The latter half of the story is fine, with a bit of foreshadowing and something that can be called a plot. But the story is split up into stages for characters to develop, which some of these stages become irrelevant due to poor problems like emotions, illogical conclusions, faulty reasoning, or all of the above.

Spoiler

The biggest example would be Julie. She has several stages dedicated to her and yet her character development is overshadowed by her unreasonable logic that the Deculein is "evil". Sure, he made her think that way, but his surroundings should speak louder than her twisted thoughts on the main character himself, so she should have some reconsideration on certain thoughts.

You may think she is reasonable since Epherene shows her evidence on what he had done to keep her alive, but if she is that reasonable to begin with, why does she think he is evil when she trust his disciple? The earlier intelligence shown is clearly a lie.

Julie is straightforward and honest character. She never once question anything but why is she questioning his actions over everything else. She isn't the scheming type so I get why she won't get it, but to have any logical thought override with "he's evil" is really poor. Those traits don't make her simpleminded, but they might as well add those traits in.

Which makes the finale she appear in so much weaker. I don't hate Julie, but considering everything that led up to this point, this is so forced, I really hated it. How convenient she can control her ice powers so well after being resurrected as a doll.

[collapse]

I have a lot of criticism for this story when it comes to the actual story and plot, like some of the unsolved subplots and some guns shown but not fired kind of stuff. But I really enjoy reading this story until the very end, I hated that part. I admit, I even cried since I am a reader that loves living in the moment without thinking too much of the contradictions in the story. It didn't hinder my enjoyment and personally I would only recommend this story if you love tragedies, even if it is a poor one at that. I may have lived in the moment but even I thought the ending was terrible.

Spoiler

The hanging subplots are stuff like why did Rain even bring them into that world. It seems like a problem resolve by simply talking??? And what is even the glyph messages future Epherence gave to Deculein? So many questions left unknown because either the author forgot or they weren't anything at all.

Character Story... These quest never made sense to me since they haven't been resolved at all. Deculein mentioned that the "Family" quest haven't been clear, so these kind of things exist and cease after being mentioned. It is fairly distracting. It would be nice to see someone clear a Character Quest like Luna, going into that virtual world and finishing the character quest Kim Jin-Woo. It would make an interesting reaction.

If you are wondering what about the telekinesis shown by a dead man (I can't remember his name), it was used in the finale. That big telekinesis was that.

[collapse]

There is much more issues I have with the story, but those are personal gripes and not an actual criticism. I really did enjoy the story even after chapter 110 but I felt like the author was spinning whatever he felt like and pushing a rough patchworks of ideas into this mess. The ending is just a sloppy effort to end the story and I am never satisfy with it.

I had to wait for two weeks to past in order to give a more impartial opinion on the story itself. I was really tempted to give it a three star with how dissatisfied with the ending and I felt cheated for all those moments to build up like that, but I learned I am pretty bad at giving reviews when I finish a story recently.

TL;DR: It is a fun story but a shitty ending. <<less

One of the better novels out there to this date. The ending was quite abrupt, I honestly expected a little bit more info towards the end.

Spoiler

Eg. Why was Kim Woojin put into the game. They did hint that God will eventually return and I was kind of expecting a conversation between the MC and God to explain everything that has happened. So I felt that the ending was unsatisfactory for me. But there is also a chance that the plot had already hinted everything and I'm just ignorant and missed it. : (

Well, I'm not really much fan of an overly reliable protagonist which seem to have everything in his grasp, which is this novel protagonist. I hardly pay any attention to romance plot too other than feeling like, in this novel, the romance just need to have so many twist and settings that feels a bit too much for me. But well I still enjoyed it a bit.

The adventures in this novel is quite interesting in my opinion. A bit repetitive but still good.

All I have to say is

I liked when he cried

lol but for real crying in the graveyard is so hot. Being emotionally vulnerable is hot. Especially if someone sees it. (Khmm the girl whose name I don't remember) But like before I begin to read this again because I don't remember that much of the novel but I remember that

[collapse]

But fr. This is absolutely amazing. You should read it.

Idk what's with the ending I haven't read that far.

After I read it I edit this I swear

Nah I'm here to edit this

This is an absolute masterpiece I really liked this

Deculein (MC) was great he was the mix of the personality before he was reincarnated and the villain Deculein. It was nice to see how he overcame death flags and everything

Well there is some romance but not that much so if it's the harem tag that makes you don't wanna read it no worries there is literally no romance in this
Spoiler

like they love Deculein but he doesn't love them that way so it is fine or idk for me it was no biggie but lots of drama is around the gurls but idk I liked it this way

[collapse]

Spoiler

I also liked that he had not ended up in a relationship with anyone I don't get the harem tag but ok

[collapse]

This story is kinda bittersweet and there is lots of angst and depressing thing and it crushed my soul but it was so great exactly what I like lots of drama angst and sadness. Oh and lots of misunderstandings as well

And I saw few comments here complaining about the ending and I think it was the perfect ending for the novel.
Spoiler

maybe if they hadleft Deculein dead but like I also liked this this way

[collapse]

I think I read this under two weeks and thats kinda amazing considering that I have lots of school work to do. Absolutely worth it wonderful would read again 10/10

All in all if you are thinking about reading this novel I think you should do it because this is an absolute fuqingk masterpiece and I will definitely read this again after some time. Now its time for you to read it.

That's a maybe I edit this some time hahdxbsbkan

Actually a pretty good novel from what I have read so far but there are some big red flags I am seeing which I have semi-confirmed from spoilers and knowing the author's tendencies.

Best way I think I can review this is comparing the MC of The Novel's Extra, one of the author's other works since there are a few parallels with this MC

Both MC's are transmigrated into a world of partially their creation and assume the form of a more mysterious person who cannot be seen through clearly, often willing... more>> to be antagonistic to do what they think is right, also being more willing to be self sacrificial to an almost annoying degree. ("Sacrificial to a Fault")

This is fine. Actually, I really like this trait which isn't usually shown in protagonists. In TNE, there were pretty much always cases of people hating the MC for stuff he did/was, usually actually helping them, to their lack of knowledge. However there were always characters who understood the MC, and those who hated him were usually doing so for pretty justifiable reasons in the plot... (really minor spoiler for TNE)

Spoiler

The more general characters wouldn't realise that the villain organisation the MC was a part of was targeting corruption, and the sister of the man he killed hated the MC because he decided her hating him was easier for her than dealing with the grief so didn't tell her, arguable, but not unreasonable and makes sense to the character, since he knew she wouldn't be able to target her feelings at the time towards someone.

[collapse]

Contrast this to Deculein (Dec now because that's an awkward spelling) who has pretty much no one who can understand his actions, not allowing relief from that frustration as a reader with, a lot of the time, either he obscures his intentions for seemingly no reason, or the other characters do not at all try to understand him. (when they probably should)

That last point is going specifically to his fiancee and "the student whose father was indirectly killed by him whose name I do not know because it keeps changing", who just don't try and make sense of the MC. Their anger does lower realising that the MC was isn't actually complete evil, which is how they act to him, but they always act pretty unreasonable. For the fiancee, she's an adult and this confuses me as a reader why she acts a child and from what I can tell the author just sees this as normal. For the student, whilst it somewhat makes sense, the amount of times she is fully aware that "Dec" is completely reasonable and even kind to her, going against almost all her expectations, she just ignores it. As in, the author specifically states she ignores it to keep her anger going. Why?

Once again, reading spoilers that aspect seems to actual get worse but I am not sure.

This isn't all bad, the other student (I gave up on learning names because of that one that keeps changing) and "Dec" have an interesting relationship where her hate is very toned down, only coming from familial relations and pride. And is pretty much the only character actively trying to understand the MC and realises that his actions aren't what they seem at first glance. (Reading spoilers however, I am concerned she will listed in the previous point)

"Dec" actions to others are actually pretty reasonable, except his fiancee, never really explained properly why he wants her to hate him so much.

Best I can think of is the author agrees to the reviews/comments of those novels where the evil MC returns to past and realises they were sh*t to their partner and tries to rectify it, I have seen people say that if you love someone you should just leave and not apologies and rectify (Not sure if its a popular opinion but it definitely exists).

But personally, while I understand that apologies can seem insincere the argument that you should just let go was never understood by me. Therefore, the author's focus on it also makes no sense to me.

(There are other reasons but just blowing up the relationship would be an overreaction to those, like getting her the job she wants on her own... she could still do that... just don't help her)

Not sure if I will read for now <<less

It's similar to SVSS (s*um villain self saving system) that og body is a Scummy teacher who is jealous of their more talented students so he screw them up but MC transmigrated in n try to do better but not too OOC n possible Harem of both students n colleagues

Just this is better cause MC built up power based on foundation of og body so it's less OOC also less damsel in distress.

The only frustration is that MC never resolve possible misunderstanding that makes everyone hate him at all. Should... more>> at least make it into sympathy n guilt to gain their trust (prime example from tr*sh-of-the-counts-family) <<less

A good novel, sometimes it is a bit too technical but I would say it is worth the read. If you miss anything though it will come back to bite you in the rear so pay attention and don't miss anything.

The way magic is used is intriguing and the skills are interesting as well. Random quests that are given seem natural and work well. This is a good read that doesn't interject bull into its story.

This is amazing so far. The only bad thing about it is that... you have to wait to get more chapters.

The "original" villain is a sham. He isn't as talented as he was when he was younger and many people know it. He was a super jerk in the original story with close to 0 redeeming qualities.

The MC takes over his body and you slowly start to find more about the villain and the MC. You might disagree with some of his thoughts and actions but then everything starts making... more>> sense. The heroines from the game have very good reasons to hate the villain and he might have done even more dirty stuff. The MC doesn't know everything and there is a part of story that is unknown.

The MC makes a plan for his development and acts on it. He knows the villain did some horrible stuff (maybe, maybe not) and he slowly walks toward redemption. The MC is really affected by the personality of the original villain but he doesn't let himself be totally controlled by it.

This story is fun, sad yet entertaining. You should give it a try, specially if you like reincarnation/transmigation and game systems. I gave it a 5* because authors tend to gloss over how the magic and supernatural stuff actually works in game world but in this one everything is explained which makes it even more interesting. <<less
