Kaede, a s*ave he met on his journey, forms a group called the “Mangyu Brigade” and easily completes dungeons, acquires the legendary sacred weapons, and thanks to his skills, his friends level up easily! He rescued a countess who was attacked by bandits on the road and befriended a legendary beast.

Toru’s journey continues at a leisurely pace as he repeatedly encounters various people along the way, while his former party of heroes are deprived of opportunities to play an active role and fall into decline.

The premise for a decent read is here but its executed so poorly that this book become unbearable. The main flaw within the storytelling is the sheer lack of proper build up. I came here because of the manga adaptation and wanted to see where the story goes. I must say this is one of the worst stories in terms of development that I have read in a very long time. I don't recommend this story to anyone, read shield hero or berserk if you want the betrayal story. Hell... more>> NTR doujinshi have better plot and build up than this! <<less

I generally like the kicked out/betrayal novels even if it's some wish fulfillment or power fantasy. But this Novel just ruined it as early as chapter 6.

The girls were brainwashed, which completely diminishes all the good stuff about the betrayal and revenge trope. It goes straight to power fantasy without any weight to it because there's no actual betrayal since the mastermind is the s*umbag hero which never liked the MC in the first place. The only slightly relatable part is when the MC shows his frustration about the "betrayal" but even then it's really short lived.

Just skip to the chapters the other review mentioned if you really want to get any sort of satisfaction of guilt tripping the heroines. It'd be much better way to spend your time <<less

this novel is bad but not 1 star worthy... yet. Betrayed by childhood friends, s*ave waifu and sudden strength gain with a noticeable lack in world building. Like EosTamar has previously said, this feels like a first time story from the author.

There isnt much to say in terms of any innovation or ideas in this WN, like most its generic and a bit boring but the story so far is passable. The small translation errors that are present are annoying as f*** tho (she is always he and sometimes a... more>> random word in place of another) but its 100% readable.

Just a few short things about this mess of a novel that's acceptable for reading when bored but not so good on quality.

You don't need to get very far to realize Dense = Pathetic (well to be fair that goes for almost every JP novel)

Some things just don't work like his dislike of sl*ves but his frequency of picking them up or not having a issue creating one if it's for a good reason in his head.

"Growth Prayer is a skill that works for plants. As the name implies, it accelerates growth and speeds up the harvest time of crops."

"Hey, are you a blacksmith?"

"Yes, because I'm from a blacksmithing family." (Blacksmith = Farmer nope that's not at all what this is talking about but it will still make you think that while reading it)

So basically this is a story about a guy with low self esteem becomes OP hangs out with women that love him and runs around solving problems. Oh yea, while being a "Dense Protagonist" that's allergic to complicated thoughts.

I'm still gonna attempt to finish reading this but hope is so so dim. It gets three stars because the bar is honestly pretty low at this point if it's a little entertaining I'll at least give it a try. Well not all JP novels are like this. <<less

Also. This is a story about a guy who dislikes s*avery but buys s*aves then constantly reminds the readers that the heroines are in fact s*aves.

who starts out in the heroes party.

who complains about not becoming a hero and with little reluctance BECOMES a hero (party after being kicked out) and does hero work very well, then is offered to become a hero (himself) flatly declines BECAUSE HE HATES ATTENTION..... To where you finally learn it's because HES f*ckING EMBARRASSED.

who evolves into the ancient race. who continues to constantly help people over and over.

I now remembered why I disliked this novel and never tried to finish it. This is my second time around and I'm quoting... again. Let me describe it like this. I'm not sure if it's the translator or the novel itself, but it's like I wrote a novel (aka I'm not a writer so I'm sure I wouldn't be good at it).

ALSO THERE IS r*pe AND I FORGOT. I honestly hate that shit. Not to mention it's technically NTR.

so many contradictions. "Im not strong". Realizes he's strong. 2 chapters later questions it. Knows his skills uses them. Doubts them several chapters on. He will understand something then magically we're back to square one where he has no idea what's happening. Doesn't want to sexualize the child s*ave then within the same chapter sexualize her??

also I can't be the only one who gets pissed off when in the text it's constantly being wrote as he/she and it gets flip flopped and if it's a new character you get confused. Like WTF IS THE GENDER ALREADY?! Or like me you have a pet peeve where you know what it is but it'll constantly come out as "he".

I mean real life instances here. Pulls a sword only meant for heroes with tons of doubt but won't call hime self a hero.

tells king he doesn't want to be a hero doesn't want to stand out and says "I've said this often" literally said it for the first time just then.

acts naive that doesn't understand others feelings towards him. Acknowledges it some chapters later then we're back to square one.

HE WILL READ HIS SKILL AND TOTALLY FORGET ITS USE MANY TIMES. uses said skills he got and is embarrassed to actually use it like it's "not his".

Touches an elves shoulder and it "squishy.

"I figured elves were slimy or something" THE f*ck.

now passed that s*upid shit. There's dialogue gaps and sudden scene changes with no warning. MOST of the time you can understand who's talking but if you're not paying attention I promise. You will get lost.

SCENE: walking through the Forrest questioning if he can actually fight a dragon with out warning "fight me you dumb dragon" 1 sentence later the dragon is dead. Huh weird everyone in the world is like level 50 and that's topped out but I'm level 300 can I really be strong?

but really 50 chapters with better dialogue. Scene description. Character descriptions. Ability description and it could be dragged out for maybe double. I can say there is def. no wasted sentences to stretch it out.

1/10 stars. If it was done better I think it could easily be 8/10 with just putting some effort. Story isn't totally unique but the characters are unique from the many novels I've read. The story has a little different kick I could name about 3 that are similar but I enjoyed them. Character growth is really non existent because there's no description and it honestly doesn't show it's just like bam here it is. It's sad. You want to like the novel but it's not portrayed well at all.

AND SO MANY TIMES SO MUCH COULD BE AVOIDED. "We hate humans" he could literally just say I'm not human. He gets treated like garbage but then is accepted the next chapter and nothing else is said. There's so much that's just let go and never explained. Or even they didn't even try. Some little things are just not brought up and left. It's a waste. <<less

The novel starts off interesting, but declines as it goes on.

The story was decent, until the demon lord and fallen hero were defeated by the protagonist. I feel like it should have ended there, but it keeps going without the main plot device that carried the first portions of the novel. It becomes kind of aimless and boring to read after that, akin to a "slice of life".
