Wow, this hits not like a brick but like a freaking train ramming into me. Can I be considered a genius? If you decide it with grade and achievement then I can sure be called a genius. Can I be special? If you define it as no single human being is exactly identical to each other then sure I am special. But of course I'm normal, of course I am ordinary, in this world where there are billions of people living in it with who knows how many more are... more>> being born each day how can 1 person look big in that cluster of human? Or even then, look out into space, how big are you compare to the endless universe? How old are you to match the age of space? How special and spectacular are you to all the wonders that we haven't and will probably never heard of? Even Newton looks like an ant in the vast scale of thing, what are you to think of yourself as special? To have that right to be special is the dream me and the MC both chase but it's a dream we will never realize. Really make me wonder, what's the damn point of trying. <<less

Wow... just wow. I was amazed at how the story turned out. Sure, it's a reincarnation story. But the way it is presented, the moments the characters have is... relateable. Yeah. That's the word. It's not overly imaginative and it is actually quite normal. But the normal things being presented in that kind of flow makes into a magnificent story. The ending is also very, very nice. Simple storyline with a deep romance feeling that is not overly sweet.

Reckless Girl and Reborn Man is not just a good story, it can be describe as 'beautiful'. This story can touch the hearts of the readers and leave an impression. As the one being challenged, and being a genius, you need to keep doing good to meet their expectations. As the time pass, gaps will appear not only in ability but might be also in relationship.

I experienced doing well in my school, they either tell you "Keep it up" or next time achieved this better one. Then if you failed... more>> to meet their expectations it will be setback to you. This story tells a story of a boy who is like "that", but also tells a story of a girl who appreciate and can be satisfied on someones work.

As the girl keep chasing the boy until she manage to exceed him which should be the boy turn to chase the girl but can't do it anymore, they manage to walk in a single path together. This is a heartwarming story about them.

4.9/5.0. Because the story is somehow predictable, though maybe it's because it's oneshot.

I love this. So heartwarming. This making me reflect my ordinary life. Even if it's an ordinary life at least it's a happy and warm life with all the trouble. Hehehe...

This is a story about a man that reincarnated with his previous memory. Before he was an ordinary man and he want to be a special person. Then there was his childhood friend (girl) that always want to defeat him in school test. He felt special because he get a good grade, he always number one, and the girl can't defeat him. But he also felt guilty because he's cheating with his reincarnation and the girl is the real genius and seeing her hardwork to defeat him making him more guilty.

His belief is a saying, "a prodigy at ten, a genius at fifteen, a common man passed twenty". So he felt that there will be a time when he will part with the girl because he will became an ordinary man and the girl is still a real genius.

After 15 years of the time they're together and he already can't win the girl and felt that it's time to part. He felt sad but he still say everything about himself, even about his reincarnation. And the girl as his childhood friend knows everything about him even if she doesn't know the truth. That make him so happy. And when the girl confessing her love to him, he felt now he now that he was special to the girl. The girl too special for him because he love her too all this time.

And with the girl, he had an ordinary married life, ordinary job as a teacher and ordinary father, but he had a comfotable ordinary life.

Definitely one of the hidden gems. Maybe its because I relate to it so much or just authors (translators) pen style I mesmerized by this gem. Humans have a hole in their heart that cannot be filled and this novel lays bare this truth such that I had watery eyes. Absolutely recommended.

Worry... fear... pain... anxious... even envy, name it all! I felt him so much that I cried.

Any ordinary human being would do.

If I were to reborn, right... I'd end up like this. That's what I thought.

This is a good story. It touched my heart. Be it about the MC's view of life, or MC and FL's romance development.

To take a reincarnation tag and go somewhere with character development is rare, and the author here does a great job of it. Many years of the characters' lives compressed into a short story, and artfully done.

What a beautiful short read this novel has been...

The story of a plain ordinary man who got reincarnated and meeting with a true genius... The emotions and struggle the ordinary man felt when competing with the genius are amazing.

5/5 star.

An ordinary salaryman fell sick and wish he could have been someone special.

He was then reincarnated in an ordinary life, with the exception of his excellent grades and his genius childhood friend who keep competing with him.

A heartwarming one-shot, I'm glad it was translated and that I was able to read it

I have never been so touched before, now this cute thing has finally done it! I am so alike with the MC, being all ordinary and simple to the point that even me myself brood over how insignificant I am in this world. What I learned is that you work hard to success in order to grow yourself as a person, not to show off to other people or other reasons like money.

Overall I rate this one-shot 10/10. Keep up the good work!

Three words : This is masterpiece.

This novel is short, but compared to lot of novel which has ton chapter inside it.. This novel above them, atleast its kind of SSR grade novel for me. Its has so satisfying end, clear plot, clear message and clear characters. Its easily become one of ten greatest novel I have ever read.

... please wait a moment. The aftereffect is currently detoxifying my nasty soul.

Phew.

Now, where should I start it. You know, it feels so relatable in many levels. No, not about the gap between genius and an ordinary or whatsoever. It's about their choice, and their struggle to reach their goal. But I'm glad that at the end, they all found their happiness.

It's a good one shot to read in your free time.

So simple but so damn good! It transitions from an ordinary mans death, to reincarnation, to school, to having a genius as a rival that he knows he has no right to contend with and best friend, to coming to accept that being "special" doesn't need to be so extraordinary.

It's a beautiful masterpiece. The romance is absolutely delightful. I love these two so much and it brought a tear to my eye and a huge dumb grin on my face.

Props to Yoraikun for TL'ing this amazing one-shot. Seriously, it was... more>> so good.

For anyone that wants to read a heartwarming and instant classic one-shot, don't hesitate. The only person that could dislike this story is someone that doesn't enjoy being happy. <<less

Holy sh*t. Honestly perfect, I loved every single moment I spent reading this story. I shed a few tears, chuckled a few times, happy at times, and most of all, satisfied. If you are debating reading this, just read it. Me, I think I'm going to read this once a week for a long time. For reasons I don't want to say, this story has helped me stay here a little longer.

The best translated novel I've read in a long time. I really love how it showed what exactly would happen to an ordinary person reincarnated without any gimmicks. It has a good story, albeit it failed on most of its characters, or rather, it focused too much on the boy's perspective failing to show the feelings of the girl, aside from her usual competitive nature, only showing telling her feelings towards the boy at the end. It feels fake but expected. It just wasn't shown. I guess that's just where... more>> the limit of a oneshot goes. And monologues in general. It just shows the perspective of one character, sacrificing the others' if not done well. 6/10 <<less

It's not rare to see an interesting premise, but it is to find it properly executed.

Definitely a great read that lets you see things in the narrator's shoes while keeping the flow natural.

Another great one-shot translated by Yorai-kun! It starts off with the ordinary main character doing ordinary reborn things in a surprisingly ordinary world.

The story gradually shifts from the comparison between a reckless girl and reborn man to more actual competition but the author writes it in such a gradual way that you really feel how the main character feels and experiences his life.... more>>

I cried at the climax because of how resolute he was in confronting the tragedy. The ending is very heartwarming so you won't feel that sad by the end of the one-shot. A very sweet romance in which you can truly tell how the characters feel from their actions.

Dont let that fantasy tag fool you tho there is magic in the setting it plays no role in the story at all except for occupations and stuff (literally only there in name only) very good read, very unexpected read. Very satisfying ended to.

Just what am I feeling rn urgghh... This novel portraits sadness, dream and heartwarming feelings all at the same time.

The best thing that I could just tell about the novel is just "wow" idk the emotions that I've felt after reading it. Also we could also feel that the characters are more "real" or something along those lines, some people could also relate with them.

Definitely a must read one

Aight first of all I want to appologise to those who loved it and rated it five stars.

But I don't get you at all. The story wasn't anything great basically there wasn't any story at all it was like any 30 year old dude's delusional wet dream.

It went something like this:

... more>> I'll be reborn and I'll do better but wait... I'll have to study even in college ohhhh... I'll just seduce a smart girl. Fantastic money problems solved and a great life.

Basically that was the gist of this so called endearing story and it was pathetic at best. I'm not even talking about how creepy the fact that a 30 year old was staying with a five year old and uh that romance of theirs was.

I'll be honest I am no sage I have had rebirth this too. Confess to your crush become famous and what not these thoughts are frequent when you make a mistake you want to take back and as humans that's natural.

This is why I fail to understand what prompted this pathetic display of someone to be given 4.9 star rating.

Anyway I don't think this tr*sh deserves more than half a star but I'll be generous and give it five.

Also if you guys really feel this is worth 5 stars you might wanna introspect once just to get to know yourself better. If you still feel the she it's all good 😊 but atleast rethink if you just rated it 5 cause your dream was written on paper or cause it was actually worth it.

But seriously 1300 five star votes.

It almost feels like all authors should start writing just epilogues and side stories cause that's what all of you want.

Ah whatever btw if you really want this kind of romance watch Clannad you'll like it and it doesn't have that creepy soft to it.
