Thrown into a tale I’d never read, only heard about in passing, I was lost in a world where the line between reality and fiction blurred. To make matters worse, the weapon in my hand wasn’t a sword, but magic.

There was no goal, no clear ending in sight.

For now, there was only one thing to do: survive.

Because for me, that was the only way forward.

Man, this was a long ride, I had like one month break while I was reading cuz I went on vacation. I read lik 100 chaps and one month later I read the rest in three days. Also the first like 50 chaps will be pretty boring, it gets better and better from mid-terms.

So our MC is from earth. Everything was normal until the seven plagues attacked, and from then humanity changed. The usual stuff. MC went to the army at 5 and he is super talented, the most talented... more>> mf on the planet actually. He become the strongest by the time he was 18 or sum and killed all the seven plagues, but basically everyone he knows except best girl Eve dies. Most of them died for him too, just so he can survive. Because he had to carry all that burden, he became broken. One of the main point of the series is the readers gradually seeing how broken he is and how he slowly heals from it. But that's for later in the review.

MC retired a bit after killing all the seven plagues, and he possesses a character in a novel. The novel that Eve wrote, his best friend and one of the only person who can rival him. The character that he possessed is model after him, so mf's like the hottest mf in the universe and he's a gumiho now. His body is cursed, so his physical state is very bad and he can't really fixed until later in the novel, but he has the best magic talent, something that he couldn't even understand one bit before. The character he possessed is the basic bad villain who does the usual bad stuff and he has a broken engagement, y'know, the typical. So he hot, but he bad. He is a assistant professor, and he catches the eye of the strongest person who's also a professor. And that's the basic premise.

MC's goals:

He's really broken so at times he really cares about the lives of other, but sometimes he doesn't give a f. But his main goal is to die. Die a death that is like the deaths of the soldiers and friends that gave their life for him. He wants to kill all the major problems that can caused the end of novel and then die.

. The main point of the story is MC living through life and getting better and better with magic, while trying to figure out why he's in this world.

Pros and cons sesh.

Pros:

    • Eve, my f*cking goat bro, she gets WAY too little screen time. Seeing more of her interaction with MC was one of the few motivations that I had for this novel. If Eve wasn't written like how she was, I'd would've given this a three.
    • The usual MC kickin ass
    • Whenever MC uses his sword, especially during the mid-terms, bro WENT OFF.
    • His kids, not biological, minor spoiler

      He gets a daughter that's a quarter vampire, rather he adopts her, and this lil dragon baby. They're both major villains in the original novel.

      The moments with them are PEAK.
    • MC doesn't hide his powers, he puts that sht on full display.
    • Crazy ass plot twists, imma say some but these are actually MAJOR MAJOR spoilers, only read it if no spoilers can make your reading experience worse.

      So the person who brought the MC to this world is Eve, but the thing is that this world ain't even a novel. The og baek seung-woo, the character that the MC possesses, is basically the MC. When he was born, he received the memories of our MC. Eve just wrote down what she observed. And how did she observe? Because she is one of the two admins for the system. And the other one is the last plague that the MC killed. Explaining more will be too annoying because it's a lot of sht.

Cons:

    • Very slow beginning, and a lot of dragged out parts, more on that later. The author at the end even said, as the novel went on, he didn't know whether he was doing the right thing, he felt that some parts were dragged out while some were too fast, and he didn't even expect the novel to go in that direction near the end. Which is all true.
    • The repeated mention of mc's hotness. Like dam I know, bro be hot like that
    • For some reason the author legit just ignores and skips a lot of stuff. For example, in the first like 30 chapters, you'll see the MC of the novel, Kyle, and MC is talks about him quite a bit too, but after that he's never mentioned again. Like actually never again, he just disappears. Also a pretty big spoiler

      In the arcs following up to the end, MC disappears and goes to another world, and when he does that, he's out of the system so everyone knows that he's gone. So the big bad peps go after his children, but mc's teacher is there to protect them and someone else which I don't even feel like writing about. But main thing is that, they don't talk about them not all after the MC is done with everything. We just know that they made it out safe, just lazy writing from the author I guess.

    • The crazy plot twists that the author had were amazing but author was doing too much. It was very dragged out arcs leading up to a very fast end that didn't cover everything.
    • No more eve moments afterwards. Near the end we get the main dish, but what about the desserts man. At least give us some crumbs
There's a lot more I'd talk about, but I think you got the gist of what to expect, and because I suck at writing reviews, I just throw some random sht on here. Read this if you want a slightly different academy novel. It's prb rated so low because the beginning actually sucks, even the mc's personality is that of a cliche academy MC, a stark difference to his personality later in the story, this also has its reasons tho. All in all, if you can't push through the beginning, just skim thru it, the beginning doesn't really have much. You can do a fast skim thru everything until the mid-terms, around chapter 60 if I remember correctly. If you still don't like maybe it just aint for you. I pushed on because Eve my goat. <<less
