After Being Forced to Marry, I was Pampered to Heaven

Before getting married, Fan Xing thought he was just a bed companion given to He Qingmo by his family, someone who would be discarded like old shoes once he was used up. However, Mr. He turned out to be skilled in pampering, teasing, and seducing him relentlessly. He drove Fan Xing to the point of distraction, and one day, unable to resist, Fan Xing ended up pouncing on him…

And then, Mr. He laughed like a cunning old fox!

**After marriage, Fan Xing thought that besides being overprotective and shameless, Mr. He didn’t have any major flaws. But he soon discovered that Mr. He was actually a big jealous pot. When his classmates invited him to watch a movie, Mr. He appeared righteous, saying, “What’s the point of watching a movie with just the two of you? I’ll treat the whole class.” So, the entire class watched the movie in one theater while he and Mr. He had their own private theater.

When his childhood friend traveled a long way to visit him, Mr. He played the role of a gracious host, saying, “It’s your first time in China, right? Let me make arrangements.” As a result, his childhood friend embarked on a nationwide tour, and Fan Xing never saw him again.

When White Moonlight found out he had gotten married and came back to the country to chase after him, Mr. He refused to acknowledge his own nephew and declared, “You little brat, get lost and stop thinking about my wife, or I’ll break your legs!”

Fan Xing: …

Mr. He, that’s your own nephew; can’t you show a little mercy?

I had to keep the cringe and rolled my eyes 100x from nonsense situations that keeps happening every chapter.

Not worth the read. I finished it because I wanted to give a final rating so people could avoid this.

If you still want to read it tho, dont expect a nice read. Take into your mind thats its fluffy Brainless story.

I don't know how a top student could be so fcking s*upid with common sense and becomes brainless like a stuttering kid that doesnt have his own brain.

Good novel! Has harder hitting themes than I thought, especially with the side characters. While I am a bit disappointed that we never find out why ML fell for MC (other than love at first site? Who knows he saw his picture and said yes the rest is history) we get the full view of MC adapting to the marriage, moving on from the person he thought he may want to confess to and eventual confession to ML.

trigger warnings for novel: (important!!! Not involving MC or ML so they are... more>> NOT in the tags)

Spoiler

implied s*xual assault/r*pe of side character (under the impression he was sleeping with a different person), su*cide attempt, implied domestic ab*se

I also appreciate how the MC’s family is... there... but tbh super background board no super fam drama or ‘main son vs. step-son (the MC) ’. While we see MC developing relationships outside of ML, I felt as if lot of their interactions (with MC mom and other friends) were good but ultimately working towards having the MC and ML have a closer relationship and demonstrate how they each work their new partner into their lives.

random, but no side CPs. <<less

I have read the novel, and I saw some people found it cringe-worthy. However, I did not feel that way that it made me hide and skip chapters lolol.

Plot wise:

I do agree with the comments that say the author never really explained why the male lead fell in love with the MC, I mean we saw the progress of the MC falling for the ML but not really the other way around.

Another thing, the ending was quite abrupt and left many loose ends untied, ... more>>

I mean ya'll we didn't even get to see the baby be born the actual wedding ceremony or anything😭

. I feel like the last few chapters leading up to the ending which was spent on the friend's problems, could have been better depicted in the form side character extra chapters or something, because it took away from the main character's story with the MC focusing and running around behind his senior and worring about his mental health and relationship with the dude he got tricked by.

I would have liked to have seen more development in the main characters' relationships with his husband's family, as well as with his biological mother and her other son. I say development in terms of seeing the son who lives with the mother finding out the truth of the lack of connection and communication from the MC and what type of ending the mother would've gotten, as well as what happened with the Gu family's business in the end... hell what about him graduating from school?... etc.

The novel seemed to focus more on the friend's story than on tying up the loose ends surrounding the main character and his family towards the ending when the MC really needed those last few chapters to tie up his side of the story atleast if nothing else... more than anything. Overall, I think the novel had potential to finish off great, but it definitely fell very short in terms of character development and plot resolution.

So I'll give it a 4/5, for sure a star and a half dedicated to the translator the other 2 and a half for the story I don't hate it but I don't love it, so for anyone wanting to read this, you can try it yourself but just be aware that you won't see conclusions to alot of things touched on in the story.

Translation wise:

There were some errors in the translation, such as the name Lu Chi being changed to Land Rover for several paragraphs. Additionally, the pronouns of the characters were occasionally switched, for example, "she/her" was used instead of "he/him" and vice versa, but not all the time to the point that it would've been considered annoying. Despite these little mistakes, I am grateful for the translation as it was still very understandable. So big up to the translator, and thanks for the translation. 😊💜 <<less

The ML is a bit sus when he always find MC is endearing when MC looks like a 15 yo. He always compares MC physical to underage kid and if that not a red flag idk what is. Typical CEO wants to eat young meat. Cringe. (Well, readers might find it acceptable because ML in this story is Handsome and Perfect but out there in the real world these CEOs all with big belly almost bald with two mistresses at the side and still looking for swan meat) Ugh.

Idk why there are so many negative reviews. The story, translation, and pacing is good. The MC is 18 but he isn’t a damsel-in-distress or classic submissive personality just bc he is the shou.

This might be spoilers according to some but, MC is pampered by the ML a bit but that is because of how their relationship started and ML wants to make up for that. In return MC pampers the ML back by being understanding and cooking (bc that is his hobby, he isn’t forced). There are misunderstanding plots... more>> that occur sometimes but they are well-written and not very frustrating to read. <<less

Spoiler
  • 10yr age gap
  • Cringy
  • No logic
  • Dominant ml

There were many trigger points for me in this novel. Like, ML goes on a business trip, he was on the news for having a new affair but he just doesn't have a clue and keep on asking MC for not getting close to other men.

ML's friend was dating people behind his back in his name for years now, but ML doesn't have a clue and the only reason he decides to break his friendship was because of MC. It seems otherwise he won't be bothered being used by his friend to hurt others.

It always seems that when it comes to himself ML is clueless about many things. But if anyone is near MC with intentions, he already knows... Does it make sense?

Also there should be a warning about how the two fell in love immediately. Atleast I would have been prepared. Because it did not look that way in summary to me.

Thank you to the translator.

review (ish) :

I am not good with common sense, I can read and stomach a lot of novels with brain-dead plots. But, I couldn’t, for goodness’s sake, stomach through this 😭

So, it was an ok read. I am in a phrase where I am so bored that I am willing to read novels with harem (where most of the brain-dead plots occurs for me, except for that fated villain story). Anyway, this story has many ‘what the hell’ moments but the author managed to pull some... more>> weird logic that I didn’t mind it and continued on (to where I was reading so far anyway). But what made me write this review was that (before you asked, yes I didn’t read the tags and just searched for shounen ai tag), MC and Ml’s dynamic got too unappealing for me.

MC is an academically smart person, who basically took care of his grandma, for most of his life (vice versa), in a foreign land. He was running from a love that he didn’t think has a future (basically) with a mindset that rivals my insecurities (somehow) because he became a very beautiful submissive MC that basically gave himself no rights. Kindof. The author had a logical (ish) explanation for it but I got too brunt out with the previous ones and more.

spoiler:

Ok, what I mean was, the dude kept apologizing for the mistake (?) ML made. Or whatever you would call the following event:

ML kept telling the MC to only have ML as his lover/don’t interact with ‘his past close friends’ but went on a business trip, came back on his bday making hotlines on the news about how he had gone on a vacation with his new lovers (ML had a promiscuous image to the public and somehow, he is still a pure virg*n...)

While, MC was waiting for him in the kitchen with cakes, presents, decorations, feelings (they build up on the feelings but it keeps regressing back because they don’t want to communicate their feelings. The other growth that followed a similar path would be the MC and his ‘family’s’ relationship) and expectations. MC called ml, dude picked up and said something and MC heard the new lover’s voice telling him to drink more (?) (so MC was introduced to this new lover before vacation and he’s (new lover) in a physical relationship with ml’s childhood friend. So you kindof know it’s not what it is, but somehow MC still got impacted by it... not saying it’s wrong but I was kinda done with it.)

[The truth be told: it’s not a bad story. Really. Might reread it in the future if I get bored enough to go through my to read list],

and then he got hanged up. This occurs right after ML was telling MC to only have him as a lover (they’re also husband and husband as you know from the summary).

Anyway, when ML came back, he got mad at MC for drinking with another dude while he was gone (MC was on an impulse drinking/action mode)

MC and ML fought the next day (of ml’s bday) and then that night, MC came back to apologize (he has class the next day. Dude also missed the first day and he just got transferred from oversea...).

It’s not bad. I wanted to read more since I want to know how the situation of MC and his family unfolds (especially since the mom seems to be manipulating her second son so he hates MC... told the son MC doesn’t want to come back (for mc’s whole life/MC just turned 18 in the beginning of the plot... I think.) But MC came back just to marry a rich dude (so now MC has an image of a gold digger/sugar baby on the brother’s brain.). Somehow, nobody knew MC existed (well, the people within the mc’s family circle (MC was a child from the previous marriage), or neighbors from America. <<less

I truly truly want to give this at least 4 stars but the ending, the plot, the characters’ growth are all over the place. The translation is also bit confusing and repetitive? I think? But that’s not the reason why I gave 2

Basically, I was hooked up with their relationship since there were the drama and the angst. Then the author just throw many side stories that kinda makes the plot bit sideline. So yeah, and I’m not satisfied with the 1/3 of the last part of the stories?

Hence the... more>> stars <<less

Overall a bit cute and a bit of a drama fest bc each new thing was a more outrageous than the last although the MC and ML weren't as over the top as the situations they were in.

FYI the last 10-15 chaps are truly a runaway train to crazy town.
