Contemporary college student Ye Leyao died suddenly from staying up late, and found himself transported into a world where several novels merged together, becoming the useless adopted son of the prestigious Huo family.

The good news is that, apart from him, everyone else in the family is a big shot. Eldest Brother Huo is a legendary figure in the business world, Second Brother Huo is a top actor in the entertainment industry, and Third Brother Huo is a skilled esports player and boss.

The bad news is, these big shots are all antagonists, and none of them have good endings.

Even worse news is that, upon waking up, he finds himself in the middle of a cheap romance involving Second Brother, who is oblivious to the fact that the child in his lover’s belly isn’t his seed at all!

Ye Leyao couldn’t help but scream inwardly: “Aaaaaahhhh—seriously? This romance-idiot still doesn’t know the child in his lover’s belly isn’t his?!”

All eyes in the family suddenly turn towards him. The second brother even stumbles.

Everyone: What?!

The top-tier Huo family adopted a young troublemaker some years ago.

Initially, nobody in the family paid him any mind. That is, until they could all hear Ye Leyao’s inner thoughts—

Just as Father Huo brings his down-and-out friend home.

Ye Leyao’s inner voice: “Oh, so this is the little seductress trying to seduce Father Huo, plotting to make Mother Huo and Father Huo divorce, and wrecking the Huo family?”

Father Huo’s pupils dilate: “!”

That night, before Ye Leyao can subtly hint to Mother Huo, the little seductress is personally “thrown” out by Father Huo.

During breakfast at home, Eldest Brother Huo takes a video call discussing crucial shipment matters with his assistant.

Ye Leyao perks up his ears, muttering to himself: “Why do I vaguely remember a typhoon changing course to pass through this route in a few days? Big Brother’s business deal is definitely going down.”

Eldest Brother Huo: “…”

He immediately changes the shipping route with his assistant. Sure enough, five days later, news came that the original route was hit by a typhoon.

Afterwards, Eldest Brother Huo transfers five million into Ye Leyao’s account. Ye Leyao is astonished.

Eldest Brother Huo tries to remain composed, saying calmly, “Take it, you’ve earned it.”

Third Brother Huo isn’t home often. After the league ends, he brings his newly recruited team members home for dinner. Just as they enter the house, Ye Leyao stares keenly at his new teammates.

Third Brother Huo is about to warn Ye Leyao against premature romance, when he hears Ye Leyao whispering in his mind: “They’re handsome alright, but unfortunately, they’re moles sent by the rival team.”

Third Brother Huo: “!!!”

That night, Third Brother Huo begins investigating and not only discovers that the new teammates are moles from the rival team, but also finds out that his most trusted assistant has been secretly gathering data on their team!

A week later, another ten million appeared in Ye Leyao’s account.

Ye Leyao, holding the money happily: “Third Brother, you’re more generous than Big Brother!”

Just then, Eldest Brother Huo passes by: “…”

As a supporting character in the novel, Ye Leyao’s biggest dream is to save up money and flee with his family of antagonists when they hit rock bottom. Little did he expect that all these villains in his family would not only avoid disaster but thrive in their careers, and he would end up soaring with them.

It was soft and sweet and silly, but after enjoying too much melons, it seemed the characters were making fun of events that were too serious. There were a few times everyone laughed when they should have been shocked or repulsed

It was fun to read initially but it got repetitive after a while, and sometimes, I didn’t morally agree with how they were eating melons. Ending arc was also not enjoyable to read. Refer to boricats’ review for negative points.

I was reading this novel and quite liked it, so I thought that I should rate it on novelupdates,

but here I find out that most people are dropping because of the food blogger scandal, so I am here to encourage the new readers to give it a try

Spoiler

my opinion is that the food blogger did not have an ED. It was a persona created for herself as a food blogger (Where she eats two times in comparison to a normal hungry male). As we, can see that she was perfectly fine with eating a normal amount of food but she kept on eating more to solidify her persona.

I, personally, feel that this behaviour in turn may give rise to more young females with eating disorders.

As we can see in the actress LIU YAN, as she was also in awe that the food blogger could eat this much and still stay slim, where the the food blogger says that she eats like this everyday and still stays slim.

This was said to a grown woman so it did not give rise to any negative feelings in her, but what about the young females in middle or high school who watch her broadcasts where she eats large amounts of food everyday but still stays this slim.

They will also feel the need to have such a metabolism. They will blame themselves and this may lead to EDs in many young girls.

I also feel the need to specify that she was not engaging in this behaviour personally only. She was a food blogger with a dedicated fanbase to the point she can be called an influencer.

And this is the thing she chooses to influence, if she had an ED (I don't believe she did) why did she choose the food entertainment to influence people????

I know the story can be a bit childish and kind of repetitive in its arcs, but it’s so funny you won’t regret reading it. Every twist has me laughing out loud! The characters are super lovable, especially the family, they’re always around to catch the gossip. It’s not a story you need to overthink; it’s the kind of story you can just sit back and enjoy for a good laugh. So if you just want to pass the time, relax, and have a good laugh, this novel is for... more>> you! <<less

What a surprisingly wonderful book. The beginning was brimming with laughter and sass. The way the beginning was written felt a bit like an infinite flow rebirth/face slapping facilitate by the mc's family.

I did get a bit tired of all the immature "melon" that the MC kept bumping into towards the end, especially at the stakes decreased for the MC, his intervention was purely to rubber neck and not to help, and it became emotionally delicate for the people involved. It's great to engage in a bit of gossip, but... more>> laughing at other, relatively decent people when they're caught in a difficult situation or getting their intimate secrets exposed just felt a bit mean. It gave off juvenile vibes how inconsiderate the MC and audience were about "eating melon" and laughing at victims who had their privacy invaded. It does help keep the tone of the story relatively light hearted, but I think in a very unrealistic way.

However, the author rescued the story with a really great ending that helps provide a reason for why the MC loves looking in at other people's gossip so much. It's a bit interesting, the MC actually doesn't love gossip because it's someone else's problems, but because it helps him see and understand the complexities of people.

I like the author's point about how you shouldn't judge people purely as good or bad, or decide that one deserves success over another because they better fit a script. People are complex, and someone that seems pitiful might not be worth pitying, while someone who has everything might still a good person. Of course this means that there are certainly people who are pitiful and genuinely deserve sympathy, and people who have everything and are awful people.

The story also is a lesson in how not to give up on love. Even if it requires effort and the rate of success isn't guaranteed, finding someone who has the patience to wait, determination to try, and sincere feelings is a gift and should be treasured. The author then ends with a great assortment of extras that help wrap up a bunch of side characters storyline. After finishing, I felt happy and hopeful, warm and fuzzy. <<less

It's alright. It's fun to read for a bit (it's hilarious), but it got a bit repetitive. The earlier bits of the novel are based on faceslapping and are quite formulaic. Characters read the MC's mind and find out info about the plot aka their future. The characters change the future or use the "future" knowledge to their advantage. Enemies get faceslapped while the MC and his allies profit. Bonus, the characters who can read the MC's mind are trolled/annoyed by the MC and his loud thoughts. Lots of gossip/rich... more>> people drama. Like, if there's time to do several faceslaps, maybe work on characterization more early on? To make it feel less flat?

I was pretty bored until the ending when things started getting explained, so I think whether you enjoy the novel depends on if you like simple faceslapping themed around rich people + gossip + entertainment industry enough AND if you like the ending's twist. Kinda interesting since, based on the reviews, people who like the first might not like the second while people bored of the first part might like the second but drop the novel before getting there. <<less

Everyone loves to gossip and I love them just for that but there is not much logic present in the story. It does feel a bit repetitive at times and I was kinda annoyed with MC for some reason around chapter 80. Tbh, if the author hadn't wrapped up the story when they did, I would have dropped it.

It was a funny and hilarious story from chapter 1 to 90 something... then the angst started. I loved it though

Spoiler

Ok, I would have loved this even more if it stayed a transmigration/rebirth/whatever novel instead of becoming some advanced system thing. I reached that part in the story where it is revealed and I was like "aaaah there it is", and my interest kind of started dropping at that point

At the beginning, it was pretty funny. I lile reading the ML and the Huo family's reactions to MC's thoughts.

However, as the story went on, it went a different turn.

I dislike how for example, there's this mukbanger who actually induces vomiting so she can maintain her figure. It's bad that she's deceiving her audience but she isn't really hurting anyone so I don't have anything against her.

... more>> There's a time when everybody had dinner and this mukbanger was putting on a show that she will cook more noodles cause she's hungry.

Because MC and ML wanted to "gossip", they deliberately went to "help" this woman cook and go to the kitchen, watch her really cook and all.

I get that this woman isn't a good person but I just don't like how MC, for the sake of "gossiping" goes out of his way to put people in bad situations or see people embarrass themselves.

Yes, they aren't good people but they're situations are real embarrassment or awkward experiences for them and it shouldn't be just for MC's entertainment especially since he doesn't just run into gossip inadvertently, he really pursues gossip.

Plus, the reality show they were on wasn't really a competiton or needing them to create drama or needing them to put down lther people but the characters deliberately corner this woman to expose her. It's just disgusting how some people will really go out of their way just to make other people miserable and ruin their life. <<less

It's a very funny story. That goes on like MC witnessing all the scandals in the entertainment industry. I wanted to read after seeing all the reviews about ED amd after reading it I really don't think she has ED. I don't want to go into the details here u can just look it up urself.

It's a light hearted novel. You can take it up with a pinch of salt. Not make a big deal out of it.

I really loved this story. It's simply amazing!! People who gave one star over a minor part of the story are simply ridiculous. Read the full book before leaving the review for god's sake. A good story with all the elements. Absolute gold. Don't skip it because of the one star and two star review you are missing out on a good story because of that. Totally recommended!!!

It was fun to read the comedy was peak from the start but as you read the chapters along it becomes very boring very repetitive, and the MC was cute and all but as the story progress the MC just annoys me so much, like we get his naive and so but its just too much, its a turn off every single time I read his inner thoughts it just irritates me.

Soo yeahhh if you want comedy sure, entertainment setting stuff there not much to it, its mainly about gossip... more>> which I didn't hate from the start but now huhhhhhhhh, like can you do anything else I'm sick of it and almosrt forgot about their fansss ughhhhh they irritate me as much as the MC does like c'mon anything new?!!!!

So this is a reminder of why I dropped this I cant belive I persisted this long <<less

Basically... extremely repetitive. I love the premise, and I quite like the ML — his personality is quite different from your typical ones — but not enough to keep me interested.

I won't argue whether a certain character had an ED or not. It's been discussed several times here already and opinions seem very divided. I will say though, even with the pile of excuses about it being self induced, or for fame, or whatever, it did make me extremely uncomfortable to read about everyone mocking her like that.

The... more>> whole plot follows the same formula: MC meets or hears about a character, remembers the plot related to them, internally yaps about them for his entire family and ML to hear, they go personally see the drama unfold, it gets solved, and repeat. Nonstop.

As much as it was entertaining the first couple of times, the lack of a seemingly overarching plot (at least until where I stopped) just gets extremely boring. I gathered that there might be some later on judging from some reviews, but the focus is clearly on the repetitive comedy and I don't think I have the interest to hold on until then. There's nothing there to keep you reading, unless for some you REALLY enjoy reading about unimportant characters and their entire family's drama. <<less

One of the best novel I've read~ 🥰

It's so hilarious and ended with a tear jerker. Characters are very 3D they know when to stop.

Downside: I felt that some of the scenario should be kept private and not used for melon eating, fortunately they know moderation (slightly).

I've started reading this expecting a carefree read and trough the whole story it was fully entertaining and light but then...........
Spoiler

the last few chapters was like I was hit by a truck (the irony) like I was slapped with the twist, then beaten with reality, but then quickly i've been sent to a healing facility with the last reunion (which wasn't enough healing...i need extra). I've been left wondering if I'm happy or sad

This was a fun novel. It’s easy to get carried away with the characters to enjoy gossip, but sometimes the gossip just wasn’t funny. Like there was a plot point where MC and co were laughing about a food blogger having an eating disorder. There was also a “sequel” to some gossip that left me more sad than having fun. Originally I planned to rate this series 3 stars as a result, but then the story gets serious and you learn what’s really going and I loved it. I loved... more>> the direction the story took. I loved the love between MC and ML as well as MC and his family. Now to find the extras, no doubt MC & co will be enjoying even more melons and I don’t mind joining the fun! And hey, maybe some more characters will find love too~ <<less

Before the plot twist the entire novel was just funny. Cute and funny. Love the melons and tea spilled. Love the family interactions and the interactions between MC and ML. But the plot twist was insane. I totally didn't think that way and it was just soooo good and interesting. Super unexpected but very well written. Love the hidden plot haha.

Really good read. Highly recommended.

Im biased OK?!! 🤣😭 I love melons and those who shamelessly eat melon seeds Infront of everyone 🤣 aka The Marites of the Year 🤣 seriously, I enjoyed reading bout those chismis, so much that I laughed so hard while reading them, the romance is ok, the ending was ok too, I was just surprised when I realized that my favorite couple wasn't the main CP but Song Zhehan & his cry baby 😭 and the backstory oh my god, it makes me realize that yeah, while... more>> sometimes it's easy for us to decide to cut off our communication with someone out of spite, etc. We're all humans and we all went through something and sometimes when we needed someone to be on our side, that's when nobody's there to give a helping hand.

I laughed so much while reading this novel. At first I thought this story only involves gossiping and watching others embarrased themselves.

I have been giggling so hard at MCs and his family interactions especially whenever they hear MCs thoughts about someonelse gossip and watch the fun.

I thought for the last few chapters of this novel, the story will continue with hearing MCs thoughts about gossip, watching the fun, and laughing at others misfortune but NO!!!

MC somehow gets memories of novels he has read that involves gossip of his family and others around him. For some reason the whole world has novels of their own lol.

I find it funny cause all of the Huo family members can hear Leyao's inner voice which gives the full melon story and also Qin Yao who is obviously the ML. It isn't explained till the end.

Its a story thats just all about the melons. Romance is there too though! I like how it depicts Qin Yao slowly falling for... more>> Leyao and also the other side pairings.

The thing about the story is Leyao doesn't actively stop the melons from happening. He doesn't do a thing except think about the story which made this a little dull imo. Other people who know the juicy gossip is the ones who change their actions to reflect the proper steps to take and not fall for the schemes of others. However, the reason why Leyao doesn't actively stop things is later explained in a plot twist.

Spoiler

He is actually a supervisor system who has fallen in love with Qin Yao supposed main villain, and the Huo family of villains. He hates that they have to suffer and tries to change things but it never works out.

He has tried to restart the world three times to save them and this is his fourth attempt. As humans are malleable, things must be changed by their own will. So it seems like passive melons but Leyao is changing things his own way by existing.

[collapse]

Plot twist is pretty cool.

Everyone remembers the four resets in the end. I like it. <<less
