The novel was a fun read hahahaa anyways MC been really tryin hard to be a scum, so his words are sometimes harsh though the outcome was not the goal that he wants but his wife/Zerg's have diff mindset😂 he's been brainstorming with the system how to get scummy points hahaha anyways it might be that way but Ling notice MC's good pts behind his s*um mask so he just goes along with ml's skit hahah

MC gave Ling the love and security that he needs at the same time Ling... more>> touched mc's heart. Mc's head over heels over ling hahaha nobodyy is more prettier/cutest than his wife. There's twist here and there and small part of past experiences. Happy ending for this crossworld lovers^^ really like Ling who is strong and open haha and of course who dont want a doting Mc/husband?? + Tsundere on this one haha <<less

Really good story, I like how the MC tries to be mean when he's just a little cutie, at some point people even start to think of him as a big shot when he's just trying to be a s*um man. I also have a soft spot for yandere shou and story frome a male zerg point of view which still make "male" be the most important will at the same time "female" are way stronger. I really want to know more about MC's past and I think that maybe... more>> for once I won't wait for the translator's updates and start finish whith MTL because that's a really great story and I can't help but want to see more of this couple.

This was just good, enjoyable, readable.

Moderate amount of comedy, drama and plot twist with simp overing for MC gong.

But I want their extras be more and I want to read til' they really go with 100th child😭. It's pity that there is alittle screentime for the babies. :")

STORY: So far, I've read 57 chapters and I feel like it's more focused on the relationship between Lu Mo & Ling and how they recognize their feelings for each other. There's some hints of a plot going on but considering that this novel is already completed and is only made up of 71 chapters (of the main story), the plot should've been already in the climax part by chapter 50+. But it's actually not. What really only made me continue to read was because I like the MC's character... more>> but it wasn't enough for me to stay because the plot, which should've greatly progressed, became boring and stagnant for me to bear. Also, it was a bit confusing at first when there are "female" and "male" zergs with the same body of a man and the only difference is that "female" zergs are capable of becoming pregnant. Welp, I know it's the world of the zergs, an entirely different species. Although eventually I got used to it as I read on, as a regular human with a different world view it's still somewhat weird to me.

CHARACTERS:

    • Lu Mo (Gong/MC) - a moment of silence to Lu Mo's moral integrity. He's like a lowkey M, always begging to be killed. I get that his mission is to earn s*um points but still it's funny how he's actually looking forward to be slapped in the face by the OG protagonist & Ling. I'm not usually fond of reading novels where the MC is a seme/gong but I really like how the author portrayed Lu Mo's character. On the surface, he's a domineering, possessive, whimsical "scum" that always acts out of the norm but inside, he's actually always praying to buddha and all the gods every morning to pardon his sins. It's also hilarious how Ling and the other characters always seem to misunderstand that his scummy actions are either him just being coquettish like a cat acting all tough on the outside but actually just wants to be petted or him being a very noble male zerg who has very keen senses and observation skills.
    • Ling (shou) - He's a very possessive, yandere type of character. Unlike the common portrayal of shous as weak, more feminine & fragile beings in most novels, Ling is actually powerful, has a strong mentality (although crooked), can protect himself and ruthlessly fight & kill his enemies. The common setup in the majority of novels is that the gong is usually the one who's powerful, domineering, strong, badass, etc. While the shou is typically portrayed as weak, soft, naive, delicate, dependent on the ML, and can't protect himself. But in this story, Lu Mo (gong) and Ling (shou) actually have "reverse" roles which is like a fresh breathe of air. Lu Mo, although he grew taller after his metamorphosis and is considered really tall among the male zergs, is still smaller than Ling. Also, for the most part of the story, Ling is actually the more active one and Lu Mo is the somewhat shy one.
    • System - I love that the system is a troll sometimes and can be considerate and even worried about the MC at other times. It actually gives some pretty useful advices and is more helpful unlike the other systems from the other novels I've read
  • As for the other characters, it doesn't seem like they have much of a "character" at all. Maybe they could've but was forgotten by the author so they weren't "fleshed out." They all seem like they're just there to carry out certain roles for some scenes or be stepping stones for the main characters then once they've completed their roles, they get completely discarded by the author lol
SMUT: Sadly, there's no explicit smut scenes (as far as I've read at least). There's only mild NSFW.

I might reread this again some other time when I'm in the mood and reevaluate & edit my review but for now, I'll give it 4 stars <<less

Basically fluff, that's the main focus so don't be expecting face slapping or action as the romance between the two is the focal point.

It's really just fluff for me and all dark elements seemingly brushed over without delving too much into them, it's focused more on our tsundere (scum) MC and yandere like ML. The main focus of the novel is their romance and not much else except for MC trying to strive to gather s*um points. Cubs come at the end. This book is the embodiment of two partners matching each other’s freak. The only thing is, in the MC’s quest to make ML despise him, he inadvertently goes so far against the societal grain that the ML falls completely in love with him.

It's a sweet story but the pacing threw me off. The chapters were short so it was a fast read. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone but it's something to read if you're bored or if you're looking to scratch a particular genre itch.

The relationship building between the MC and ML was pretty shallow. It seemed to jump pretty quickly to them being in love but I didn't really feel any build-up through their dialogue/actions.

It also felt like a tv show that knows it's being canceled. There was good mystery/build-up... more>> surrounding the villain and how Zerg society works but then the boss battle happens out of nowhere and is finished in a few chapters. The amount of extras is like a third of the actual main story. So why was the main story so rushed? It felt like the author wanted to just write about the fluff and skip everything else.

And the s*um villain thing got old fast only because I think the tsundere personality is rarely written well. It's always incredibly exaggerated and cartoonish. The MC's dialogue is essentially that of a tantrum throwing child and not that of a villain. <<less

What a super fun story to read!! I love everything about it. It is super light-hearted, casual but really enjoyable with many comedic moments.

As many reviewers have mentioned: MC, the gong is a super green flag tsundere. ML on the other hand has the obsessive love cutie who deserves the world after all the suffering he faced.

Just a really cute read.

Im going to be very critical. I dont understand why this has so much positive reviews. I dont like the plot, characters or the authors writing style.

It was not funny or entertaining to me. I feel it needs gender bender tag as it gave off that vibe to me. I found it kinda boring over all. Just not my cup of tea. I was forcing myself to read it. The MC was nothing special and I found him boring. Although I love many zerg universe novels I didn't like the... more>> setting here.

The translation however was good which kept me reading that long before finally dropping it. <<less

Gong MC has been in the zerg world for a few years and has been trying to accumulate s*um points so he can go back home. However, since he's a male zerg, who are really cherished in society since theyre only a few of them, no matter what he does, he isn't able to maintain his s*um points. Our ML, the shou, ran away from SJ (? I forgot his name. Not sure if those r his initials lol) since that guy was also a male zerg and had too many female zergs around him yet he wouldn't make the ML his female monarch. MC finds the ML and thinks he's can force the ML to be with him which will get him more s*um points. So he forces ML to be his female monarch and makes the contract to seem evil. Little does he know that the ML has been wanting a contract for so long so when the MC does it, he starts accepting the MC. Eventually he falls crazy in love with MC. He kinda psychotically obsessed with MC and I'm all for it lol. Stuff happens and MC can choose between staying or leaving the world but he chooses to stay since he doesn't rlly have anyone in the real world and he wants to stay with ML. They end up having 2 kids.

Overall the novel was sweet but midway through I kinda got bored and was skimming the chapters. Thus my lack of understanding about the middle to endish chapters lol.

It's so cute. The mtl is passable but I'd read this again when the transaction is done.

The only thing I wish the author wrote an epilogue. It just ends so fast and I want more of them together without the influence of the s*um system.

I greatly enjoyed the story. The writing is quite refreshing and I liked the characters.

My only cons would be that at times the plot jumps out of nowhere and it leaves you feeling flabbergasted. I would have liked the plot to delve more in a few aspects. Also a con is that the story isn't finished if you don't read the extras. And they aren't even on MTL, I had to read them directly from Chinese (praise Google translate😭).

The story is sweet and fluffy but at the same time... more>> besides the main couple there aren't any complex characters. It's just that with a little polishing this story could have been 3 times greater, but alas it is a good read nonetheless.

I had read 26 of translated chapters and the rest to the finished main story is Pure MTL. Thank god it was a Readable one!!! Because the story was soooo gooooood and I can't bear it without knowing how it end.

I'm Not Joking, this Novel is Really Really Good!!! Our GONG MC is ABSOLUTELY CUTE!!! Totally Adorkable and Precious!!! The way he did his mission while... more>> knowing his inner voice is just too funny and cute! He was truly like a Tsundere while we know that he is NOT a Tsundere one! MC's action remind me of a Spoiled little Prince at beginning. When he metamorphosed, his image get better though.

Our Shou ML is Yandere inside but never Cross any line whatsoever. Most his action remind me of many Doting 'Gong' ML I had ever read, but well, he's the Shou. Except on Intimacy scene, even when the scene written absolutely very vague, ML always 'wrecked'. (͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

The dynamic with this Couple is, Our MC is Good with his Acting and words. His brain is also not bad, even though his Inner voice still forever funny! While ML is the Physical Power, but he never act impulsive so far. Not really at least because MC always unintentionally have a way to stop his bad thought.

This novel has lots of Faceslapping without the intention to Faceslap because MC just need his s*um point. Lol. The good part is half the time he's happy can trampled those annoying people while get more useful things. Lol

Anyway this Novel is TRULLY ABSOLUTELY VERY GOOD!!!

God I wish MTL site also have the extras.... (T⌓T) I want to known the aftermath of what happen. I wish I know Chinese...

Rereading this with Actual Translation give different feelings. Sure the MTL before still doesn't change anything thank God! But with actual Translation, some part that I don't get finally cleared up.

But I don't need to change my previous review because the understanding still same! Nice!!

The extras though... PRECIOUS!!!

It's Perfecting the Whole story of their Happily Ever After Life!!!

Without making any Flashback whatsoever, we get to know how ML was when he was young, and how MC was when he lived on Earth. The Author IS AWESOME!!! LONG LIVE THE AUTHOR!!!

We get to see their Children too. From the Egg to how the behave as Cute Kids!!! Awwww

Seriously this Novel is BEYOND GREAT!!! TOO GOOOOOD!!!

I WILL ALWAYS LOVE THIS NOVEL FOREVER EVER FOR ETERNITY AND BEYOND IN ANY AFTERLIFE!!! <<less

Very2 good and cute story. However the ending is too abrupt. I want more 😭, shouldn't it be the shou pregnant and more sweet exchange of the protagonist. But seriously the MC (seme) is so funny and such a tsundere. While the shou is yandere. The interaction between system and MC is very funny. I like it.

Recommended to heal yourself after ab*sed by tragedy novel.

Found the setting rather interesting - the author took time to flesh out some nuances, so was surprised by how well the social dynamics of the Zergs were introduced and explored

The pacing is good and I liked the humour - every chapter had something that interested me while still maintaining an overall alien slice of life feeling

Would recommend, 9.3/10

Original QT! Nice plot that felt more like a slice of life in some ways, they didn’t ab*sed the “fairer sex” in this case males, which is surprising for this kind of trope but also a bit sexist lol I guess that was the most original part for me, the social interaction of it all (huge part of the plot).

the cp was nice and all but a bit on the fly and not really described in a way you get to know them and their past, but their relationship is... more>> all fairy tale like so you get to like them as a whole. <<less

I honestly love both the MC and ML that I can't choose who is my bae. They are both so lovely.

Also also, the way others misunderstood MC is just SO my cup of tea. I like how he is pseudo-possessive all the time lol. (Not really pseudo)

The only negative perhaps is how the children was barely displayed (can't fine the right term). There's so little screen time sob sob, I wanna see more of this lovely family.

Well not just this, in general, the negative is that there is so much room for more story telling. But I guess that's fine too, makes it a light and nice ride. Well read it it.

Btw I have actually come to understanding what is "Zerg" just for this one's plot. Yeah shits, I like the "scum-acting plots".

Yeye, still other Zerg novels can't give me that satisfaction. This is a rare one, I guess?

I did liked the first chapters of "After Picking Up the Fallen Female General" but it is still too early to say I'm actually satisfied.

An interesting novel, but it's written quite shallowly? Like, the characters aren't that deep. The plot isn't that riveting.

I think the funniest bits are when the ML tries to act like a scummy person, but that got a bit old despite it not happening that often. I just think that the characters weren't well-written enough to carry the novel. Some of the misunderstandings were a bit contrived or confusing.

That said, it's somewhat interesting and has a cool premise, so you could try it out to see if it's your taste!... more>> I read half and decided I didn't want to continue and read another half :P

Also, one thing that bothered me a bit was how everyone is technically a man (they use he/him pronouns) but some are classified as female. It seems like the setting has female (actually has masculine traits) and male (more feminine traits) zergs but they're all... guys. Makes sense for a BL world, but it was somehow hard to twist my head around lol. I probably would've liked it if they simply went alpha / omega (the novel has males which would be... omegas in this case. Ikr, quite different) since the zerg aspect of the story wasn't used that well. <<less

A fun, lighthearted novel, basically a parody on typical Zerg novels where male Zerg MC acts kindly and saves the poor ab*sed, disillusioned female Zerg ML. Here we have an MC who does the exact opposite -- to get points and bonuses he attempts to act scumly within his (quite limited) understanding of the Zerg society, but hilariously ends up being way more worship worthy for the typical female Zerg population, and especially the ML. All the while the ML has fun observing from the side and taking care of... more>> the cleanup after yet another opportunistic female attempts to seduce the ML or hurt either of them due to the hidden Evil Plot. <<less
