It's a popular novel, however it cannot be considered as 'great', even if people claim it can be. The novel sometimes feels like it could have been written by a computer due to how formulaic it can be. The order in which events take place, the situations of the heroines, how the enemies act. Each of these are as if the author chose a template from his stash. Albeit this formulaic feel, the author hasn't failed to keep interest most of the time. It's very entertaining, I would sum things up:

Strong Points:

-Strong MC

-Humor

-s*xual interests of the MC

-Entertaining

-Amount of chapters

-Solid plot

Weak (Almost excruciatingly annoying sometimes) Points:

-Person A is 2-3 cultivation realms lower than Person B. Person C has stated defeating someone of a higher cultivation realm is near impossible. Person A beats people like Person B constantly, if not every other couple of chapters.

-Heavy emphasis on MC and all other characters are only there to prop MC up.

-Extremely mighty plot armor

-Fight scenes are a little bland

-MC is a hypocrite sometimes ... more>>

(needlessly kills people he doesn't have to kill, while stating he only harms those who insult or harm him, and he is kind to those who are kind to him. Not exactly true when he slaughters over 100 thousand people in a family, only like a hundred or so whom he knows just because 3 people in the family wronged him.

Even though it sounds heavy on the downsides, the entertaining aspect more than makes up for the deficiencies. Moreover I think the story is fairly imaginative, and I definitely think it's worth a read.

It's very 'xianxia' it fits the mold perfectly, but it does it better than a lot of others.

Well this was my second xianxia novel and at the time I had started reading it, I had never in any JP book read about an MC with such a character. I think most of the people who started reading with japanese novels and then read novels from other nationality authors can understand the refreshing feeling of reading about how the enemy was pounded into the earth. So I liked it a lot (still do) but most of the other xianxia stories became boring to read.

I don't think any veteran... more>> novel reader will need/agree to this review, so it's basically for new readers.

If you are bored with wimpy, s*upid, weak as hell MCs then try this novel. It's my guarantee you will like it. And if you don't, well then use series finder on NU to search for another one. <<less

I like the savagery of the MC. I’m tired of protagonists, who merely kill the bad guy, after the latter has had his way for decades. He’s a bit too fast to kill, but so is everyone else in his world.

I’m a bit split on his s*xual drive. An Echi anime’s MC would feel tame, compared to this guy’s lust. It’s not entirely helpful that some of the girls are 12-15 yo. While he is 16-19 yo (16 yo at the start, 19 yo at chapter 400). Not to mention... more>> he has the soul of an older person.

So far he spent both his wedding nights proposing marriage to a third woman. Both of his wedding nights. Arguably r*ped and imp**gnated a paralysed woman, who was the sister of his wife’s teacher, groped all of his wife’s seniors, has very, very questionable thoughts about his ex, who is currently 10 yo. And let’s not forget Jasmine is 12. Also lusting after every single good looking female. And wanting to marry his aunt. I'll just stop before I write a light novel on his s*xual exploits.

My biggest gripe is that everyone underestimates the MC. I get it, I do. But maybe you can at least be on guard, if you saw him win 45 battles IN A ROW? They literally think the MC wins several dozens of fights against geniuses in a row... by pure luck. Even if he actually just had that much luck, they’d still have no chance of winning, if you think about it. Where does their supreme confidence some from... It’s not like there aren’t items that hide Profound levels.

I don’t like that as soon as the MC’s strength started going out of control his growth stops. No doubt to keep him in the sweet-spot where he is just barely able to contest his enemies. And they can keep underestimating him.

Overall, I really like this light novel. There is a more complicated plot that surfaces every now and then. Quite often the story is driven by MC’s “as a man” (s*upid) decisions. otherwise he’d already be sovereign class and roflstomp everything in sight

Just on the top of my head he gives up a chance to raise 3 great levels (possibly from Spirit to Emperor) to save his wife. I’m not sure why a genius medical saint at Emperor level with 2 heavenly treasures would have any trouble saving a person with close to no injuries, but maybe it’s just me. Plot armor works both ways. Hero can’t die, but also can’t power up too much.

ATG was initially an intriguing read but now it's just plot armor central with a dash of r8pe fest on the site. IMHO, if you're going to write a harem, spend some time developing the members of the harem or everything come crashing down. That's exactly what happened here. Sigh...

While I won't praise this novel to high water. I will say it is well written and while it does leave a ton to be desired it does have redeeming features.

While these are great things to have in a main character sometimes you can't help but wonder how does this guy have such good luck during the novel. While technically you are reading for a over powered main character, you can't help but wonder why this guy has such good luck.

I do recommend this novel if you are looking for a quasi harem and a over powered main character who's pretty ruthless. <<less

Most review are in the below 1000 chapters. I must say that some complaints are true, but that is for any cultivation, xuan huan, harem novel. Also because it is ensue web novel, based on islands of chapters, some fillers are unavoidable. Also due to the cultivation theme, it’s unavoidable that the protagonist is weak en continuesly get stronger, than fall from grace / dies and repeat. Each arc.

What I can add to the other reviews, is that the support characters, especially his powerful women, continue to play a role... more>> until the later chapters. His first wife in the first chapters, still play a major role well into 1900 ch. Most similar novels I read, often the characters from one world wouldn’t play a role in the next or vice versa. So the character development is long mysterious. What your previously believed was the plain truth, get twisted later on. It’s quite marvellous and a page turner.

Much can be said about the world other specific details, but I found the best part that each world he ends up, are connected, so also not forgotten. It does feel like a coherent world.

I recommend one to read this if they like this genre. Therefore some repetition of the type of plot is inevitable, but that’s typical for almost two thousand chapters. <<less

An amazing book, would have been even better if the writer didn't drag it on for too long. Should have ended after Yun Che dealt with Long Bai. The harem was one of the best things about this novel, amazing really.

A generic chinese webnovel. Someone is chased by peerless masters and is forced to their death, and reincarnates in a tr*sh body but trains to become op with a super cheat. I would probably rate this novel as a 4 star if it were like any generic webnovel because even if it is generic, it would still be fun and easy to read. But in this novel, the author seems to try and make this story way too deep and overcomplicates the plot by adding in unnecessary details and useless... more>> plot points that could be resolved in a single sentence but he chooses to do it using a whole chapter. The word padding in this novel is unbelievable with the amount of weird descriptions of how majestic a building is, how mu*derous a killing intent is or how s*upid a character is.

A large majority of chinese webnovels are repetitive but this one takes it to a whole new level. I can easily repeat every single arc of the story in a few sentences: Main character is underestimated due to his weak background, he chases after a jade beauty that he is “undeserving” of and everyone ridicules him. He gains huge powerup and everyone’s jaws drop but provokes an arrogant young master. Arrogant young master goes after his women and is then tr*shed by him or at least main character goes to save his women at the cost of his life but saves himself using bullsh*t plot armour then inadvertently gets a powerup after going through this huge trial, goes back to destory the arrogant young master. Rinse and repeat.

Half the novel is in scrambles as the author just writes whatever the f*ck he wants without really planning it out. If he wants something to happen, he’ll simply conjure up some random plot detail that was never mentioned in the past so that he can write another plot detail that would seem even more sudden without the previous plot detail to support it. The world building feels like the author’s is trying his best to make it feel complex and deep but it’s honestly just a salad of nonsense that he pulls out of his ass. The plot twists make zero sense and are often predictable after a while.

Another thing is the f*cking harem in this novel. I’ve read my fair share of harem novels and have even enjoyed many of them but this one takes it to a whole new level. Every single young-looking untained woman or girl is immediately part of his harem once they are introduced.

Overall, I would reccomend this to people who are complete beginners to chinese webnovels but would recommend those who have read about 20 or above webnovels to stay away.

This is my first review, just like this is one of my first novels which drew me into the world of wuxia/xianxia/xuanhuan and made me love it. This is without a doubt one of my favorite novels, the only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the author took too long to give his work its own essence.

FIRST POINT: DEVELOPMENT OF THE STORY

The... more>> beginning of the novel can really throw you off if you are tired of the same repetitive plot, although in its defense I will say that this novel is from those years ago where practically all the authors used the same initial plot for all their works (weak protagonist and garbage that progresses to being strong) but the point of this novel is not its beginning, if we had to rate this novel based on its plot only by its beginning I would give it a score of 2.5 at most... BUT, what this novel has novel is the continuous improvement that it has as the chapters pass. The plot of the novel goes from being generic and cliché to being really interesting, every aspect in the life of the protagonist and the plot that surrounds him is explained in detail later in the story, that's when you say: '''Oh my god, Now I understand it all!''. (which is when you start to love this novel more) the world becomes something wonderful full of all kinds of stories that you don't understand and want to understand, the story also has unexpected plot twists, it doesn't become a repetitive plot or anything like that. For this reason, I consider that the plot is constantly on the rise, if you can bear the beginning, you will surely like it the more you get drunk on the story.

SECOND POINT: THE MC

You must be clear that the MC of this novel is a character that has development, at the point where I am currently, it cannot be compared in any way with the MC of the first chapters, so you can be sure that the MC will have a growth constant. He will not be a flat character who learns little or nothing along the way. Love, hate, bitterness, and even regret (many other emotions as well) are the cause of the MC's constant change.

THIRD POINT: HAREN (OR HAREM), ROMANCE AND CHARACTERS IN GENERAL

The harem of this novel is wonderful, as the chapters pass the characters of the harem become more and more relevant and I like that a lot. I have read quite a few novels but I am serious when I tell you that many female characters in this novel will make you sigh with mixed feelings, unfortunately there are also many to whom the author did not give them enough importance or development, but in the absence of these there are also many others that you are naturally attracted to because of their personalities and how well they are integrated into the plot. Unfortunately at the beginning of the novel one of the MC's girls is the typical arrogant talent who is forced to marry the MC (yes, the same bubblegum tr*sh) but as I said, the beginning depends on you being able to take it. As the chapters go by, you understand more and more why some girls act in one way or another (I'm talking about absolutely all the girls in the harem, not just the ones at the beginning) and you will definitely understand why I consider this to be one of the best romances/harem of cultivation novels. The romance itself is a key plot point, and the romance is also edgy but not the kind that becomes annoying like a cheap tween romance. On the other hand, regarding the characters in this novel in general, I am quite satisfied. The male characters are not always what you expect, but there are a few that are interesting and others that can become iconic.

Now I want to move on to what I consider the worst of this novel.

FIRST POINT: RELATED TO THE MC

There is a point in the novel where the MC can become a bit of an idiot because he doesn't really understand where he stands, he becomes complacent and forgets that hard work is the most important, of course the plot itself opens his eyes and these flaws in his personality improve. Until today in chapter 1934 I am quite happy with the development of the MC and the personality that he has, it is amazing to walk next to the MC and notice every little detail in the development of his personality based on all the experiences he has had.

SECOND POINT: RELATED TO THE AUTHOR

The author of this novel has been writing this for so many years because I lost count of the pauses he has taken to write this, although I really can't blame him, I'd rather he take a thousand breaks before he rushes through the story and rips it to shreds. What's more, right now as of 01/15/2022 the author has taken another break and will probably upload 1 chapter every 9 or 10 days (this is an encouraging prospect). As I said, I can't blame him either, but there have already been too many pauses that he has made to this novel causing you to lose a little of that expectation, if it weren't for so many pauses, I would have surely finished this novel a long time ago. If you are lucky enough to start reading this when the novel is already finished or about to end, you have no idea how envious I am of you...

Now, to finish I want to be reiterative in this: DO NOT VALUE THIS NOVEL FOR ITS FIRST CHAPTERS. The author was wrong in several repetitive aspects of the plot, but if you are patient enough to get to where I am today I am 90% sure that you will not regret it. <<less

This is definitely one of my all time favorite novel. I accept the fact from many comments that said this novel is repetitive, s*upid, too OP etc. So I will say that this novel isn't for everyone taste. For me the strong point of this novel is the harem/romantic plots. Firstly, all the famales (MC women) has a great story and personality (well except some though) and if you are a fan of these genre this novel will surely live up to your expectation. Secondly, the overall... more>> plot isn't perfect but isn't bad at all. It constantly delivers the excitement and enjoyment as the story progresses (some arcs are boring cuz of its repetitive but not too bad so you can just scroll through it) plus the world building is great.

Overall, if you are in search of novel with great plot with little to no loophole whatsoever/ no harem / good guy MC / not typical cultivating, maybe this novel isn't for you. But if you are like me who prioritize in romance/ female characters (I don't really care about harem. I need best girl) then I HIGHLY recommend this one. <<less

Many things about this story are great, certainly: acceptable plot, smart and adequate ruthlessness and gore, nice harem members (most), quick strength gain. However, some stains on the novel as a whole are absolutely unacceptable to me. Firstly, several harem members are added simply out of nowhere, like simply why does the protagonist risk his life for them, when there are so many other people relying on him, for SIMPLY NO F***ING reasons, for a bit*h appearing out of nowhere. To put it simply, this is the most wish fulfilment kind of series for me. Yun Che does some questionable things at times and he can be quite dumb when it really matters. This is the only dislike I have for it considering its needed to move the plot.

Whether it be the faceslapping or him going on killing spree we get to see all kinds of phases for Yun Che. I have been with this series a long while and it never disappointed me. There are many who dislike this for various reasons. I for one am annoyed by the MC. The novel is harem oriented. The MC is rtarded, in simple words. MC can be considered a side character most of the time, the lead in this novel is the female characters. They are the ones that guide every darn thing from chapter 1 to now. Sure occasionally the MC is the solo lead, but almost all the time the female characters are the ones that guide the MC.

The MC is treated like... more>> a child in every situation. He behave similarly to one too, except the excessive violence and slaughter parts. People around him always hesitate to tell him the truth, or parts of the truth, until things blew up and sh*t hits the fan. Then he eventually found out the truth himself. He is also a frequent denier. When he thinks something might be possible, he denied it claiming that it is impossible. He never consider anything to be possible other than things that he know for certain is. Maybe this door is push to open, the sign says so, but could be a pull door too, hmm, then someone comes over and pushes the door open, oh I was not expecting that. If he had a premonition or weird guess, he would just brush it off as impossible, and then get shocked when things happen as expected. Plus way too many hints that I as a reader could guess from all the things the MC went thru, but author just decides that MC forgets everything until someone tells him. For example he heard a rumor about an OP sword in the mountains, he went trekking in the mountain and found a weird sword, wow this sword is cool, then someone told him he found the OP sword, oh what so that explains why the sword is so OP. <<less

I guess it might be, because I like to read slice of life stuff a lot, but this novel really is way to anxious to keep throwing one threat after another at it's protagonist and throw even more at him, when he hasn't even resolved the others in a satisfying fashion.

It's like the novel keeps the reader "hostage", because it makes one anxious to keep reading, because there's never a moment where you can really stop reading, while also being satisfied with the current situation, because there's always danger, there's... more>> always someone or several loved ones either missing or in acute danger and there's always some scheme going on.

As much as I like this novel, it's also very exhausting to read sometimes, because it never really gives the reader a peace of mind. <<less

The starting is bad. From chapter 100, it will get better and better. Around chapter 1500, it will get bad again because the MC becomes a one punch man (or rather the author becomes lazy).

The start is actually bad because the MC seems to have made a bad writing mistake on the back to future theme. So he writes another story that he is the reincarnate of a medicinal saint to make it flow. The anime did it better by having his first life first, show him dying and then... more>> reincarnating. It is like duoluo dalu.

The MC swear to take revenge on his enemies for killing his medical saint teacher but after he got reincarnated, he never did.

Quite entertaining. Chapter 400 to 800 is the boring part. If you can endure past this, this story is ok. <<less

Honestly I liked the first 500 or so chapters and I was planning on continuing to read but curiosity got the best of me and I read a spoiler page of one of the female leads that disappears in the novel and as I read the spoiler I was immediately disappointed. I won't say much but in the later chapters the world building and the relationship building of the first 600 or so chapters basically gets put in the mud just so the relationship with the female lead and the... more>> male lead continues. And although I haven't read the later chapters I thoroughly read the spoilers and some chapters in between but as the MC gets higher in cultivation the world building digress fast and instead of being meticulous of the entire world it becomes centered on a few key countries of different worlds. And even in the end the entire relationship the MC made with everyone basically burns in flames because the MC basically becomes cold-hearted completely after everyone dies. It's really a shame the first 400 chapters were really promising too. <<less
